I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 633: Chapter 71: Killing the Match (Part 2)

In the stands, Real Madrid fans were overjoyed. Recently, Chen Zhong’s form had rebounded, and his goal efficiency had improved, making them see the Chen Zhong from last season, who was unstoppable and scored goals effortlessly.

On the other hand, Inter Milan fans were somewhat saddened, their eyes shifting to Benitez on the sidelines and then to Mourinho.

As the saying goes, ”Wearing the same outfit isn’t scary; it’s embarrassing who looks worse.”

Clearly, Benitez was the embarrassed one now.

Mourinho didn’t overly celebrate on the sidelines; after all, facing Inter Milan, he merely clenched his fist lightly and smiled, then looked towards Benitez.

Benitez, on the other hand, had a grim look and said nothing.

Watching Chen Zhong run toward the corner flag, seeing him leap high and celebrate amidst the cheers of the fans.

At that moment, Benitez felt that the club’s lack of ”action” had reached its peak; he was dissatisfied with the club’s preferential treatment towards Mourinho and wanted transfer rights, as well as the ability to introduce players he favored.

Sneijder, on the pitch, looked at Chen Zhong, his expression first serious, then resigned; no one knew better than him about Chen Zhong’s ”rise” and talent.

Back then, if it weren’t for Schuster losing his mind, maybe that season Real Madrid wouldn’t have been like it was.

However, Sneijder really couldn’t understand why Chen Zhong, who used to only have physical and defensive prowess, now had such precise passing skills and a powerful long shot.

”The match continues.”

”Inter Milan seems to want to stabilize the tempo.”

”But Real Madrid’s pressing is very strong.”

”Trying to switch the ball to the flanks.”

”Alonso.”

”Lobbed it to Chen Zhong.”

”Chest control.”

”And then another lob.”

Benitez’s instructions from the sideline were very clear, which was for the team to stabilize the tempo first, then find opportunities to strike back after consuming some of Real Madrid’s stamina and morale.

But he overestimated Inter Milan’s ”ball-holding ability.”

Alonso intercepted the ball and passed it to Chen Zhong; Chen Zhong lobbed the ball further to Negredo, who headed it back to Chen Zhong; Chen Zhong held the ball with his back against Cambiasso’s body.

Cambiasso glared with his wide eyes from behind Chen Zhong, but suffering from having already received a yellow card, he could only watch.

And amidst Cambiasso’s harassment, Chen Zhong turned sideways and directly sent a pass to Kaka, who was moving forward from the side.

Kaka took the ball, twisted his waist slightly to evade the Inter Milan defenders, and then horizontally passed it to the center to Negredo.

Negredo seemed caught off guard, stretched his foot a bit too slow and missed the ball.

Just as Inter Milan players’ feelings were like a roller coaster, Cristiano Ronaldo charged in, half-volleyed from the middle of the penalty area, and shot the ball out.

The ball was fast, with a tricky angle, and had a deflection after hitting the ground.

Cesar used all his ”primal force” but still couldn’t stop Cristiano Ronaldo’s shot.

The ball found its way into the bottom-left corner, and Real Madrid scored another beautiful golden goal.

Kaka looked very happy seeing Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal, scoring against Inter Milan made this ”returnee” from Milan very happy.

The two hugged and ran shoulder to shoulder towards the corner flag, celebrating wildly.

Chen Zhong watched the two of them happily and also leisurely ran over, then forcibly inserted himself in the middle, hugging them both with his arms.

”The ball went in again!!!”

”Chen Zhong’s through ball, Kaka’s horizontal pass.”

”Negredo missed the ball, C. Ronaldo volleyed, breaking through Inter Milan’s gate.”

”2:0”

”Real Madrid nearly securing the win.”

”I wonder if Benitez regrets his strategic attempt in this match.”

”He should have stuck to the tactics from previous matches.”

Real Madrid fans in the stands were singing and dancing, while Inter Milan fans seemed deep in despair.

Benitez was walking back and forth on the sidelines in frustration, occasionally expressing his anger with shouts, while Mourinho, seeing Benitez’s expression, suddenly smiled, and returned to his seat on the bench, lounging as if he would never get up again.

Perhaps in Mourinho’s mind, this match was already over.

Real Madrid would take the final victory.

Inter Milan players became more cautious in the following time, which resulted in the match continuing until the 20th minute without new threats to the goal.

This surprised the fans.

One must know that Real Madrid scored two goals in three to four minutes, making one think it would be another slaughter, but it settled into calmness, which defied expectations.

People began discussing Chen Zhong’s first goal in the FIFA Club World Cup, and lamenting Real Madrid’s confidence.

One must know that Chen Zhong hadn’t appeared in any FIFA Club World Cup matches before the finals.

What is this?

It’s Real Madrid’s confidence, knowing even without Chen Zhong, they’d reach the finals in the FIFA Club World Cup, and with Chen Zhong, they’d surely be champions.

Even when facing Inter Milan...

”Inter Milan’s attack.”

”It seems during this time, they’ve returned to Mourinho’s tactics.”

”Eto’o!”

”Right flank counter-attack.”

”One-on-one!”

”Hit the side net.”

”Wouldn’t have counted even if it hadn’t; the referee raised the flag, offside.”

Eto’o’s attack could be considered Inter Milan’s most threatening one.

Once driven out by Real Madrid, Eto’o was keen on scoring against them, but this match seemed like a solo struggle.

The match reached the 30th minute.

Real Madrid launched another attack.

Marcelo carried the ball down the flank.

Inter Milan fans in the stands were in a panic, stretch their necks, watching the field.

”Real Madrid’s attack.”

”Marcelo carrying the ball down the wing.”

”Very fast.”

”Sudden stop, carry a bit.”

”Long pass!”

Marcelo’s offensive talents were undeniable, with a saying in football circles that ten Marcelos couldn’t defend against one Marcelo.

Marcelo’s passing skill was evidently good, Negredo pulled away from an Inter Milan defender, and Chen Zhong beautifully controlled the ball with a move nearly representing the Bundesliga LOGO.

He forced a turn, then pushed the ball sideways.

Cristiano Ronaldo surged forward rapidly, his strong physique leaving the defenders trailing.

Goalkeeper Sassel, in a split second, chose not to sit idle but decisively chose to rush out.

Cristiano Ronaldo noticed this.

”Chen Zhong!”

”No look, one direct pass!”

”Excellent vision.”

”Beautiful pass.”

”C. Ronaldo!”

”One-on-one!”

”Cesar abandon the goal, rush out!”

”What’s the plan?”

”Will he evade the goalkeeper?”

Facing Sassel’s rush out, Cristiano Ronaldo wasn’t flustered; instead, he seemed a bit excited.

He feigned some dribble moves, trying to deceive Sassel, or trick the opponent.

But the opponent wasn’t fooled.

Seeing the situation, Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t hesitate.

The goal was close at hand, so he opted for a pushed shot, sending the ball into the net.

If this ball went in, Real Madrid would kill off the match.

The ball headed towards the goal, and Sassel, already having conceded two goals, stretched out a godlike foot at that moment.
