Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Li Younan possesses top-notch electrical skills.

In fact, the skills granted by the system, if applied to daily life skills or those related to the body, remain within the realm of human understanding.

But when applied to fields that require extensive time for research and contemplation, they become somewhat abstract.

These skills are exceedingly fair; the level each skill reaches is similar within his domain.

For instance, Li Younan’s culinary skills are at level one. Although it’s level one, he cooks exceptionally well, but given the inherently low difficulty of cooking, the difference between top-notch and novice is not readily apparent to most people.

The upper limit for cooking is only as high as 10, so even if you achieve 90% within that limit, the difference compared to beginner levels of 20% or 30% seems only moderate.

However, in areas like electrical engineering, where the upper limit is astonishingly high, if the limit is 1000, Li Younan’s skills surpass beginners by hundreds, daunting in the eyes of ordinary people.

At present, Li Younan’s capabilities in electrical engineering are not far from those of top engineers developing this suspension system.

What he lacks is project experience, but there’s virtually no barrier when it comes to adapting based on understanding.

Li Younan stayed at BYD headquarters for three to four days, no one knew what he discussed with BYD engineers.

When he left BYD, he excitedly said in a video: ”Folks, my secondary suspension has found its footing. Do you know Cloud Chariot Z? It’s the fully active electromagnetic suspension system installed on BYD’s Yangwang U7. With this thing, my entire cabin can perfectly integrate with the Unimog’s chassis. I’ve had in-depth conversations with BYD engineers, and they’ll help me customize a set of electromagnetic suspension systems.”

After closing the video, Li Younan couldn’t help but feel excited.

Although BYD ultimately agreed to help him customize this exclusive electromagnetic suspension, the process wasn’t smooth.

He also talked to the engineers for a long time, persistently negotiating before he finally convinced Yangwang’s manager.

Moreover, even more exciting is that Li Younan doesn’t need to pay for this electromagnetic suspension; naturally, the condition is that he has to help BYD with some promotion.

For students in this field, the value of this linear motor electromagnetic suspension doesn’t need promoting; everyone knows its high technical content. It’s no exaggeration to say this suspension is currently the best active electromagnetic suspension globally.

However, whether domestically or abroad, very few people focus on or understand the technology, so BYD still hopes for some special promotional channels.

Therefore, if Li Younan can successfully fit Cloud Chariot Z as the secondary suspension for the Unimog, it’s also a good opportunity for them to boost brand awareness.

Their main concern remains the adaptation issue; after all, transferring the vehicle’s electromagnetic suspension to connect with the Unimog and the cabin requires redesigning the entire cabin and reprogramming the control software.

However, after Li Younan discussed it deeply with their team of engineers for three days, all problems were resolved.

In fact, when Li Younan was about to leave, the chief engineer couldn’t help but invite him, hoping he’d join their research institute.

Li Younan cheerfully replied, ”If someday my video collapses, I’ll come to seek your shelter.”

This, of course, was a joke.

The Yangwang team engineers felt regretful, but couldn’t persuade him further.

Li Younan returned to Chengdu, patiently waited for half a month, and only then was the new customized Cloud Chariot Z shipped to his Unimog factory.

Before that, Li Younan wasn’t idle; he used computer modeling based on the electromagnetic suspension design and commissioned the RV factory to remodel his RV cabin with the best materials, so when the new Cloud Chariot Z was shipped over, it could be directly installed.

In fact, when Li Younan completed the cabin modeling and remodeling, the designers and workers at the RV factory were quite puzzled.

Because the structure of the cabin he designed didn’t seem difficult to adapt to any market-ready secondary suspension; it practically had no relation at all.

While amazed at Li Younan’s proficiency in modeling software, they ultimately couldn’t help but remind him, ”Teacher Li, honestly, I’ve worked in this industry for many years, and have never seen a suspension with such a structure. May I ask boldly, what is the origin of this setup?”

Li Younan still didn’t explain, until that electromagnetic suspension arrived, and everyone in the factory was stunned.

As professionals in the industry, they naturally understand the technical content of this electromagnetic suspension.

However, the more one understands this, the more absurd it feels.

What is this feeling compared to?

For instance, a laser cannon is as fast as light, unavoidable; anything moving is indistinguishable from still in front of a laser cannon... can you be faster than the speed of light?

As long as it appears in the laser cannon’s view, it’ll theoretically hit the target and ensure no harm is done outside the target with adjustable power.

These advantages... in a certain sense, perfectly meet the needs for mosquito extermination.

But!

But!

If someone indeed uses a laser cannon to kill mosquitoes, how would people view this matter?

They’d just think it’s nonsense, wouldn’t they?

And Li Younan brought this electromagnetic suspension over to make a secondary suspension for the Unimog. Their feeling was—Isn’t this nonsense?

Electromagnetic suspension is not unsuitable as a secondary suspension. On the contrary, it’s too suitable!

All its advantages, such as millisecond response, active safety features, high load capacity, its ability to charge during car vibrations, perfectly match the needs of the RV’s secondary suspension.

Imagine, if this electromagnetic suspension perfectly matches the cabin, inside the cabin, it would truly become a floating box, with no bumps at all.

But actually using it as a secondary suspension?

Others boast about their RV suspensions, but they’re just spring structures.

Looking at Li Younan’s... it’s truly like using a laser cannon to kill mosquitoes...

But after the initial shock, there’s more skepticism.

That is, this electromagnetic suspension isn’t just a simple physical installation; it also requires complex debugging.

Who’s going to do it?

And the next period became Li Younan’s showtime.

...

Debugging this Yunmian Z’s electromagnetic suspension is indeed not an easy task.

Although he had already upgraded the cabin structure to perfectly adapt to the electromagnetic suspension, the essence of the whole suspension lies in the control system. The integration and matching logic of the system require a completely new design, which demands a deep understanding of the system’s structure.

However, for Li Younan, this is not a difficult problem.

When he was preparing to start the modification, he specifically found a young man in the factory with nothing to do to help shoot a video.

Li Younan adjusted while educating the audience behind the camera: ”First, we have to upgrade the energy system.”

”Originally, our RV was set to install an energy system. After all, in the wild, you can’t rely solely on oil.”

”The energy consumption of this electromagnetic suspension can’t be supported by the Unimog’s small battery.”

”Here we’re using a 50 kWh blade battery pack, which is naturally the energy center for our entire cabin.”

”In addition, there’s a small generator. This is its fuel tank, which uses gasoline and has a capacity of 40 liters.”

”In extreme situations, just relying on this generator can provide us with about 120 kWh of electricity. Theoretically speaking, with this much electricity, living in the wild for half a month would be easy.”

Li Younan’s installation process wasn’t as fast as imagined, given that it’s an extremely complex and systematic task that most people simply can’t understand.

The biggest challenge is actually optimizing the electromagnetic drive algorithm, allowing the system to capture real-time displacement differences caused by the beam twisting 15~30 degrees, dynamically offsetting stress through vector electromagnetic force, retaining the vehicle’s torsional redundancy while stabilizing the cabin’s posture.

And despite having electrical skills, Li Younan mainly relies on himself for this part of the work.

It’s also his first time relying on his own skills since obtaining the system as a programmer.

And in this area, Li Younan is not lacking.

Some people think mechanical vehicles are technically more difficult, but that’s precisely because mechanics can be understood. The technical difficulty of electric motors driven by electrical energy is incomprehensible to ordinary people.

Then, Li Younan detailed the system integration and matching modifications for the audience outside the camera, along with the design of the entire heat dissipation system.

Of course, during this process, the RV factory’s professional equipment and workshop helped him significantly, and Li Younan reciprocated, mentioning several times: ”The equipment at this RV factory is very professional. This isn’t an advertisement, but if anyone is interested in purchasing an RV, you really can come here.”

Just a few words made the manager of the RV factory very touched.

With his system skills, the complex electromagnetic calculation formulas in Li Younan’s mind become very simple.

When he fully engages in work, he focuses intensely, his mind racing, sometimes blurring the boundary between complex knowledge and simple knowledge.

One day, while adjusting the compatibility of high-precision sensors and control systems, someone in the livestream asked: ”What exactly is the streamer doing? Can anyone explain it to me?”

With long-term intense brain activity, Li Younan was a bit dazed and casually explained: ”Let me briefly introduce the debugging principle. Based on the Lorenz gauge of Maxwell’s equations, the Yunmian Z’s linear motor achieves vector synthesis of Lorenz forces in a time-varying electromagnetic field. It couples the vector gradient and scalar potential time derivative to achieve full-domain decoupled control of suspension stiffness and damping...”

Li Younan thought he had explained it clearly, but the livestream was silent for a moment, then bullet comments exploded: ”What is he babbling about?”

Only then did Li Younan realize he might have accidentally mixed this complex knowledge with elementary math.

But since things have already come to this...

He blinked, slowly lowered his head, and murmured: ”Even if people are dumb... they can still learn Maxwell’s equations, right?”

After saying that, he continued with his work.
