Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

When the show aired, everyone was gobsmacked.

Because the contestant they had high hopes for, Pacini, was eliminated before Kanna.

In the video, they could clearly see the grizzly bear charging towards Pacini.

At such a critical moment, Pacini hurriedly brought out the bear deterrent.

When he sounded the bear horn, a piercing noise instantly sliced through the silent wilderness sky.

This sudden commotion immediately startled the grizzly bear.

The bear’s steps instantly halted, it scrutinized Pacini once more, then turned and ran away without looking back.

After experiencing this, Pacini slumped to the ground, entirely drained.

In the footage, he stared at the direction where the bear disappeared for a very long time. This segment was not even slightly edited by the production team, intending for viewers at home to also feel the emotion of that moment.

After a long while, Pacini said dejectedly, ”It’s gone. To be honest, when it was running at me just now, I was scared stiff. I can’t imagine how one could remain calm when such an animal charges at you full speed.”

He unhesitatingly showed the camera the hand holding the bow and arrow, which was trembling violently.

He stayed in place for a long time, then dragged his weary body to tidy up his shelter.

This fatigue was not just physical, but also psychological.

After consecutively facing the destruction of his shelter, several critical tools being bitten and damaged, and the scare of a grizzly bear charging at him, his emotions hit a breaking point.

Logically, he should quickly adjust his mindset and rebuild the shelter.

After all, in such weather and environment, lacking a shelter from wind and rain might make it hard to safely survive a night in the wild.

However, his emotion was clearly a bit dazed, as he just gathered the scattered supplies and equipment from the ground, then suddenly like a deflated balloon, slumped to the ground.

He looked up at the deer meat hanging in the tree, then silently took out the satellite phone and dialed the only number he could call.

After doing this, he lay dejectedly on the ground.

After a very, very long time, he finally sat up again and said to the camera, ”I admit I’m not a brave person, but that was a bear, you know. Before this, I had imagined various scenarios leading to my elimination, but I never thought it would be because of a bear.”

He chuckled bitterly, some words he didn’t even know how to express to the camera.

When the bear was charging at him just now, he was so frightened that he couldn’t even run.

Only those who have often faced wild beasts head-on without protection can understand this feeling. It’s not based on your will; it’s not something you can overcome because you want to, this fear comes from deep within your genes.

There are mainly two types of bears living near Chilco Lake in Canada: one is the grizzly bear encountered just now, and the other is the slightly smaller black bear.

The grizzly is a subspecies of the American brown bear and can even grow over two meters tall.

Imagine such a creature over two meters tall, with a paw even larger than a basketball; it’s unimaginable to those who haven’t experienced it up close, far beyond what can be depicted on TV.

Pacini couldn’t imagine such a beast living near his shelter.

Even if he rebuilt his shelter today, he would still constantly imagine at night that the bear was nearby, and that it could come again.

Such emotional torment left him no choice but to give up.

It wasn’t long before the rescue team quickly arrived at Pacini’s shelter.

Seeing the mess here, the staff instantly understood what had happened.

At this point, since Pacini had been eliminated, there were some things they no longer needed to hide from him.

They briefly filmed the scene after elimination, and once the camera was off, a crew member patted Pacini’s shoulder and said, ”Buddy, your decision is wise.”

Pacini thought they were consoling him about the bear incident, chuckled bitterly, and said, ”Honestly, I’m starting to regret a bit now. This decision might disappoint many of my supporters.”

”Disappointed? No, no, no, buddy, believe me, everyone would find your decision extremely wise.” Subsequently, Pacini showed a puzzled expression.

The crew member smiled, ”You have no idea what kind of opponent you’re facing. Let’s put it this way, I think your opponent wouldn’t even care about the grizzly bear; I’m certain that guy could easily hunt a grizzly.”

”How is that possible?” Pacini exclaimed in disbelief, ”Who are you talking about? Among the other nine contestants with me in this wilderness, is there such a person? Honestly, I can’t imagine. Is it John or Jack?”

”Oh, those two guys you mentioned, they were the third and fourth to be eliminated.” The crew member patted Pacini on the shoulder again, ”Don’t dwell on it, buddy, once you get out, check our official website to see past episodes, and you’ll know. Also...”

The crew member coughed and seriously said, ”After leaving here, have a shower first, buddy.”
