Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

A few weeks later, when the footage of Li Younan shooting an arrow at the grizzly bear appeared on TV screens, the impact on everyone was massive.

Everyone remembered that Pacini, also a contestant on Wilderness Survival, faced another grizzly bear, which seemed slightly smaller than the one Li Younan was confronting.

And when such a beast charged at him, even through the screen, you could feel the thrilling pressure, so everyone understood Pacini’s choice.

Those who have never truly seen bears, lions, tigers in real life cannot feel the fear rooted in their genetic bloodline.

This instinctive fear is very difficult to overcome.

But in almost the same situation, Li Younan provided a completely different response.

He actually took the initiative to shoot an arrow at such a ferocious animal?

Pacini, while watching this footage, was enjoying a cup of yogurt.

In the next moment, he unconsciously squeezed the yogurt, bursting it.

He stared in shock as the arrow flew out.

No one was more shocked than Pacini by Li Younan’s bold move—this wasn’t bravery; it could even be considered suicidal!

Didn’t he know that although a bear appears bulky, it can run much faster than humans?

Didn’t he know that a bow and arrow might indeed harm a grizzly, but far from enough to kill it?

Didn’t he realize that grizzlies are very vengeful and intelligent creatures?

The most devious part of the show was that this was not the final episode.

Right after Li Younan released the arrow, the show abruptly stopped, turning his showdown with the grizzly into a major cliffhanger, cutting it off there.

Countless viewers surged onto the show’s website to leave messages complaining about the show’s cutting tactics.

Now, let’s rewind to the moment Li Younan released the arrow.

The grizzly immediately heard the sound coming from Li Younan, but just as it was about to lift its head and had not yet spotted Li Younan, it felt a stinging pain on its neck.

Only then did it see the bipedal creature in the forest.

The sting on its neck made it roar furiously skyward.

Li Younan squinted coldly at the scene.

This arrow pierced into the back of the grizzly’s neck, but it must be said, grizzlies are incredibly defensive due to their large size.

Unlike herbivores, the neck of a grizzly is covered with thick fat. Although the arrow hit successfully, it didn’t penetrate its neck, and Li Younan even doubted it touched the artery.

Of course, on one hand, the distance was slightly far; on the other hand, this hunting bow wasn’t like Li Younan’s own carbon fiber bow with a much larger draw weight.

If he had his own bow, combined with specially crafted arrowheads, Li Younan was confident he could have severely injured the bear with one arrow.

But now, not only did this attack fail to impair the grizzly’s mobility, but it also enraged it.

The grizzly raised its head and glared at Li Younan.

Yet, as a beast, the grizzly quickly realized Li Younan did not fear it.

Any large carnivorous animal often possesses high intelligence, and they are even more afraid of injury in the wild.

Now that Li Younan had hurt it in a manner it couldn’t comprehend and was still standing there, it made the grizzly somewhat fearful, so it did not rashly charge at Li Younan.

However, while the grizzly remained still, Li Younan was ready to continue attacking.

He once again mounted an arrow, drawing the bowstring tight.

Although Li Younan’s archery skills reached a master level of hitting accurately within 70 meters, he was limited by the power of the bow he held, requiring some arc in the shot at this distance to hit the grizzly.

Moreover, the grizzly was not a stationary target standing there to be shot at, making it difficult for Li Younan to precisely hit vitals such as its eyes or ear canal.

So this second arrow from Li Younan was aimed at the bear’s face, without expecting to hit its eyes.

The arrow flew at an astonishing speed, and the grizzly was hit before it could react.

The arrow struck it at the moment it lowered its head, hitting the back of its neck.

Now the grizzly fully realized it was under attack by the bipedal creature, let out another loud cry, stared fiercely at Li Younan, and turned to flee.

Once the grizzly started running, its speed was astonishing.

Li Younan knew well he couldn’t catch up with the grizzly, so he slowly approached the deceased lamb.

The lamb was already lifeless; Li Younan sighed softly, buried it in nearby snow, and then his gaze returned to the direction where the grizzly fled.

He checked his equipment.

Still the traditional trio: bow and arrow, hunting knife, axe, which he always carried on outings...no matter the purpose.

Li Younan snorted coldly, then began cautiously pursuing the direction the grizzly fled.

He intended to track and completely hunt down the grizzly!

In fact, he now had a reason to thoroughly hunt this grizzly.

Not only because the grizzly slaughtered his lamb—although Li Younan was very angry at the time, when he thought calmly, nature is a survival test, and the grizzly stood on its biological stance. This wasn’t inherently wrong, as it was merely acting on instinct to hunt.

However, what Li Younan couldn’t tolerate was that the grizzly was just over a kilometer away from his shelter.
