Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Li Younan had already decided on his approach: using the revelation and promotion of the Forbidden City’s ancient artifact restoration as an entry point, he would negotiate with the management department of the Forbidden City Museum to gain access to its core, unopened areas.

The first point that needs to be made clear is that this must be beneficial to the Forbidden City Museum.

The Forbidden City needs publicity and exposure.

Although the Forbidden City receives financial support, it is far from enough to support such a large staff with just fiscal income.

The main income for the Forbidden City comes from cultural and creative products, and whether it’s ticket sales or cultural product revenue, it requires continuous exposure to more people.

Therefore, a portion of their annual expenses is spent on news and publicity.

But before he officially went, Li Younan still needed to do some preparation work.

He now had top-notch woodworking, porcelain, carving, and even painting skills, and these were exactly the skills needed for artifact restoration in the Forbidden City.

To speak bluntly, Li Younan’s current restoration skills far exceed those of many experts and scholars working in artifact restoration within the Forbidden City.

In the afternoon, instead of heading directly to the Forbidden City, Li Younan went to the Capital Library.

He decided to cram, thoroughly understanding the knowledge of cultural artifacts.

This could be considered last-minute cramming, but since Li Younan’s skills already endowed him with a certain degree of artisan theoretical knowledge, when reading those books, he quickly achieved a comprehensive understanding.

From another perspective, this also served as a refinement and supplementation of his skills, reaching a truly thorough and complete level.

Li Younan read the books with great focus and dedication.

Although he had top skills before, the connection between these skills and ancient artifacts was vague to him.

While reading, he gradually completed his knowledge structure.

Being technically knowledgeable, he read quickly and did not need to ponder over each detail.

All he had to do was match his skills with the relevant artifacts.

Moreover, most of these books were primarily illustrated guides.

During this process, Li Younan naturally also needed to learn about some knowledge regarding the Forbidden City Museum’s ancient artifact restoration.

Overall, the staff involved in the restoration of the Forbidden City spans many specialized fields, mainly comprising three types of personnel.

The first type includes ancient building repair workers, such as carpenters, masons, painters, and electricians, mainly responsible for the daily maintenance and repair of the Forbidden City’s ancient buildings; the second type is artifact restorers; and the third type is technical support staff.

Restoring the Forbidden City is an enormous project with much to be explored.

During this process, Li Younan also gradually realized one thing, which is that restoring artifacts is not an easy task, and it certainly is not accomplished overnight.

The vast majority of restoration workers also gradually explore during this process.

To put it bluntly, Li Younan’s capability far surpasses that of most artifact restoration workers!

When he felt he had learned enough, he realized it was already nighttime.

He returned to the hotel to rest for a while, preparing to visit the Forbidden City Museum the next day to discuss the matter with the relevant departments.

...

In fact, just as Li Younan expected, everything went very smoothly.

He found the department in charge of news and publicity at the Forbidden City Museum and explained his intentions.

The one who received him was a young supervisor only a few years older than him, with a keen eye for new-age publicity work and his own understanding.

When Li Younan presented his account homepage, the other party’s attitude shifted from polite to extremely enthusiastic and immediately agreed to his request.

However, although the other party agreed, some approval materials still needed to be prepared, including the filming theme, content scope, duration, and equipment list, among other things.

Of course, Li Younan was eager to cooperate and needed to prepare according to the list provided by the other party.

And preparing materials is naturally something that is better left to someone more adept.

After returning to the hotel, he immediately contacted Brother Long (Sister).

Li Younan briefly explained to JK Long his plan to shoot a video at the Forbidden City.

Of course, he couldn’t reveal that his true purpose was to explore those three unopened areas to complete his achievement task; he just said that since he was already in the capital, he might as well take the opportunity to shoot some material.

After all, he hadn’t updated his video homepage for a long time, and although he had a massive following now, most of it stemmed from the ”Alone in the Wilderness” program.

Speaking of ”Alone in the Wilderness,” his personal special episode had yet to be produced, and its release would further sustain the viewership.

Before that, he still needed to maintain some level of engagement.

Upon roughly understanding Li Younan’s thoughts, JK Long became rather excited.

”I think your idea is excellent and very positive. You’re not planning to charge for this video, right? This is also a good promotional way for the Forbidden City. What do you need me to do?”

Li Younan said somewhat bashfully, ”Well... to officially enter and film inside, some materials need to be provided. I have to trouble you to help me with that.”

”No problem at all. If I can’t handle it, I’ll get my brother to help!”

That was precisely the response Li Younan was waiting for.
