Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 532: Chapter 475: Master, please accept your disciple’s bow!_2

Although his position as the Right Commander was nominal, he still maintained his own study in the government office.

However, Yang Zhenshan only sat in the study for a short while before heading back to the Marquis Mansion.

If people do not welcome him, there is no need for him to impose himself upon them annoyingly.

But when he returned to the Marquis Mansion, he found the entrance extraordinarily lively.

Six or seven carriages were neatly lined up on the street in front of the door, accompanied by a sizable entourage.

Yang Zhenshan looked at these carriages in surprise. Having carriages at the Marquis Mansion was normal, as whenever he came to the Capital City, Yunxue, Lu Wenquan, and Lin Zhan would surely visit him immediately.

However, they wouldn’t usually bring such a long procession.

The procession consisted of dozens of attendants, each carrying wooden cases, and they didn’t seem like they were here to start trouble but rather to deliver gifts.

Yang Zhenshan squinted slightly as he observed the leading carriages.

The carriages were lavish and exquisitely decorated with shimmering golden dragon patterns; they belonged to the royal family!

Yang Zhenshan’s carriage stopped in front of the mansion’s gate, and Lu Shou immediately came up to greet him.

Wu Hai hadn’t yet arrived in the Capital City, so Lu Shou was temporarily acting as the steward.

”Marquis, Prince Dai has arrived!”

”Prince Dai!” Yang Zhenshan alighted from his carriage, slightly surprised.

”What’s he here for?”

”I’m not sure. He only said he wanted to see the Marquis, I did not dare to inquire further,” Lu Shou replied.

Yang Zhenshan walked towards the mansion gate and asked, ”Where is he?”

”In the main hall, the old master and young master Sun are entertaining him with tea!” Lu Shou said.

Yang Zhenshan nodded and immediately headed towards the main hall.

Prince Dai had not sent any advance notice of his visit, indicating that he came in a private capacity. Thus, the Yang family did not formally receive him, which wasn’t considered discourteous.

However, Yang Zhenshan was quite curious about why Prince Dai was seeking him!

He hadn’t yet entered the main hall when he saw a robust young man standing beside Yang Chengye, looking towards the door.

Upon seeing Yang Zhenshan approach, Prince Dai’s eyes lit up, and he stepped forward to greet him in a hurry.

Yang Zhenshan wore a friendly smile and began to bow, ”This old man greets—”

However, before he could finish speaking, Prince Dai suddenly knelt down before him, ”Master, please accept this disciple’s bow!”

Yang Zhenshan was dumbfounded!

The amiable smile on his face froze, and he stared at Prince Dai in front of him, completely shocked.

No!

Why kneel so suddenly?

Aren’t you a prince?

And what’s all this about master and disciple?

I don’t recall having such a disciple!

Not only was Yang Zhenshan bewildered, but even Yang Chengye standing at the doorway of the hall was also stunned.

He had just been conversing amiably with Prince Dai; being of the same generation, and Prince Dai’s personality being very amiable, there was no restraint in their conversation.

Originally, Yang Chengye was also curious about why Prince Dai had come, but it wasn’t appropriate for him to probe, so he just accompanied Prince Dai in casual talk.

The two discussed martial arts, feeling a sense of shared interest.

Inside the hall, Yang Mingcheng came out, ”What’s going on?”

”I don’t know!” Yang Chengye shook his head and whispered.

Regaining his senses, Yang Zhenshan hurriedly stepped forward to help Prince Dai up from the ground, ”Your Highness, this is truly overburdening this old man!”

”Master!” Prince Dai was unwilling to get up, but he wasn’t as strong as Yang Zhenshan.

”Master, I have come here today with a sincere desire to become your disciple. Please accept me as your disciple!” Prince Dai spoke somewhat anxiously.

Yang Zhenshan was speechless. Why had Prince Dai suddenly come to take him as a master?

As a prince, he definitely wasn’t lacking martial arts teachers. It might be troublesome to find an Innate Martial Artist as a master, but to find a master of the Postnatal Ninth Layer or Half-step Innate would be fairly easy.

Although Yang Zhenshan now had the cultivation of Innate, he hadn’t revealed it, and everyone still thought he was just Half-step Innate.

”Your Highness gracing my humble abode is a great honor. Let us talk inside the hall!”

Yang Zhenshan said with a big smile.

”Uh!” Prince Dai scratched his head, ”Very well, Master, after you!”

”Your Highness, please!” Yang Zhenshan definitely could not presume superiority.

Prince Dai hesitated for a moment, but seeing Yang Zhenshan’s insistence, he could only step into the hall first.

When Yang Zhenshan entered the hall, he glanced at Ming Cheng and Chengye, and Yang Chengye shook his head slightly at him.

Yang Zhenshan asked Prince Dai to take the seat of honor while he sat at a lower position.

”Master!” Prince Dai said somewhat impatiently.

”Wait a moment, Your Highness, it has been a long time since I last took disciples!”

”Master, please accept me as your disciple!” Prince Dai pleaded with a hopeful face.

Yang Zhenshan was truly baffled by his earnest expression.

”Your Highness, may I know why you wish to take me as your master?”

Upon hearing this, Prince Dai’s eyes brightened, ”Because Master’s spear technique is formidable!”

”Is that the only reason?” Yang Zhenshan asked in surprise.

”Yes, disciple has been practicing the spear for many years, yet my technique remains mediocre. I heard that Master’s spear technique is unparalleled in the world, capable of charging in and out of enemy ranks seven times, facing four foes, and slaying four half-step Innate experts!”

”Master, I wish to learn the spear technique from you!”

Prince Dai’s eyes shone brightly as he looked at Yang Zhenshan.

Those bright eyes were filled with a thirst for Martial Arts, a longing for strength, and sincerity towards him.

Yang Zhenshan was truly moved by his gaze.

There is a type of person known as a ’Martial Fanatic’!

Such individuals see the cultivation of Martial Arts as their lifelong pursuit, with nothing else in their heart but Martial Arts.

And the young man before him seemed to be such a Martial Fanatic.

At the very least, Yang Zhenshan had never seen anyone with such an intense desire for Martial Arts.

Accepting a disciple?

It was not impossible!

However, taking a Prince as a disciple required careful consideration from Yang Zhenshan.

If the young man before him was not a Prince, Yang Zhenshan might have agreed right away.

A young man so sincere about Martial Arts, as long as his character had no issues, he definitely would be willing to accept him.

Yang Zhenshan took a deep breath, ”Your Highness, it is not impossible for me to accept you as a disciple, but this matter requires the Emperor’s consent!”

Taking a master is not something a Prince can do casually; the Emperor carefully selects the teachers for the Princes.

Even if Yang Zhenshan was willing to accept Prince Dai as a disciple, he could not make the decision by himself.

”Really! So long as the Emperor agrees, you will accept me as your disciple?” Prince Dai suddenly stood up, excitedly speaking.

”Uh!” Yang Zhenshan was somewhat at a loss for words, but then he smiled and said, ”The Emperor’s consent is one thing, but whether you can become my disciple depends on whether you can pass my test!”

”Becoming my disciple is not an easy matter!”

Martial Artists have their pride, Innate Martial Artists their dignity.

Even an Emperor cannot trample on the dignity of an Innate Martial Artist lightly.

An Emperor’s wrath could lead to a million corpses, an Innate’s anger, blood spray for five meters.

Perhaps Innate Martial Artists cannot withstand an entire army, but they do possess the capability to behead an enemy general amidst thousands.

Ten thousand troops might grind down an Innate Martial Artist, since Innate Martial Artists are human, not gods.

But that is only if the Innate Martial Artist is confined to one spot. If an Innate Martial Artist decides to leave, even ten thousand elite troops would have a hard time stopping them.

Of course, if the opposing side also has Innate Martial Artists, that’s a different story.

Thus, what Emperors fear the most is an Innate’s wrath.

The Imperial City is heavily guarded, but without the protection of an Innate, another Innate could enter as if it were unoccupied.

Even if Emperor Yanping agrees, if Yang Zhenshan is unwilling, Emperor Yanping can’t force him.
