Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 513: Chapter 465: The Imperial Guard Department is handling the case, will you not make way?

Yang Zhenshan thought for a moment and said, ”Perhaps there is something we have not considered!”

”What could that be?”

Yang Zhenshan stroked his beard, analyzing, ”Firstly, we can rule out the civil and military officials of the court. At most, they could only bribe a few little eunuchs to serve as their informants.”

Lv Hua nodded in agreement.

”Next, we can exclude the Jianghu forces. Within Da Rong, there is no Jianghu force strong enough, and outside Da Rong, it’s impossible for them to infiltrate the Imperial City without a trace!”

Lv Hua nodded again.

”One point we must pay special attention to, the force behind Nansheng couldn’t possibly have set up their network in a short period of time.”

”The person behind them must have a very high status, capable of freely entering and exiting the Imperial City, and even planting their agents within!”

”Who do you have in mind?”

Yang Zhenshan looked at Lv Hua.

”Chen Zhongshu!” Lv Hua said.

”...” Yang Zhenshan looked at him somewhat speechlessly, ”Who else?”

Chen Zhongshu!

What a joke.

Indeed, Chen Zhongshu had the capability, but he lacked the motive to do so.

”Prince Yu!” Lv Hua said again.

Yang Zhenshan’s face was filled with surprise, ”Who is Prince Yu?”

”The late emperor’s Imperial Uncle, His Majesty’s great-uncle, who has always resided at Fengxian Hall!” Lv Hua explained.

A gleam flickered in Yang Zhenshan’s eyes, ”An Innate expert?”

”Hmm!” Lv Hua confirmed.

Yang Zhenshan hadn’t expected that there was such a powerful figure hidden within the Imperial City, but he immediately shook his head, ”It’s not possible to be him!”

Although the Imperial Uncle was formidable, since Emperor Chengping dared to let him reside within the Imperial City, it indicated no desire for the throne.

Lv Hua pondered again.

”The deposed Crown Prince!”

He subconsciously lowered his voice.

The deposed Crown Prince had long resided in the Eastern Palace and had even ruled the country for nearly a year; it’s not impossible that he had planted numerous agents within the Imperial City.

As for why Nansheng would serve the deposed Crown Prince, that too was not out of the question.

Yang Zhenshan nodded slightly, ”That is a possibility, but unlikely.”

”Why?”

”If the former emperor had deposed him, he certainly wouldn’t give him a chance to rise again from the East Mountain!” Yang Zhenshan said as if it were obvious.

If it were Yang Zhenshan, having deposed one Crown Prince and supported a new one, he would surely eradicate all of the former Crown Prince’s foundations within both the court and the Imperial City.

In fact, Emperor Chengping did exactly that; ministers related to the Crown Prince were either dismissed or exiled from the Capital City, and a large number of individuals in the Imperial City were dealt with at the time.

Therefore, Yang Zhenshan felt the possibility of the deposed Crown Prince being involved was not high.

”Other than the deposed Crown Prince, I can’t think of anyone else!” Lv Hua said.

Yang Zhenshan pondered for a bit but could not think of any other suspects.

His understanding of the various factions within Capital City was not as deep as Lv Hua’s. If even Lv Hua had no idea, let alone him.

”Forget it, at this point, thinking about these things is not very meaningful. Compared to this, I am more concerned about the trouble you have brought!”

Yang Zhenshan looked down at Wang Zhongzhi who was still unconscious and sighed helplessly.

”The Imperial Guard Department is after us! They probably won’t take long to reach Chongshan Pass!” said Lv Hua, his deep eyes staring at Yang Zhenshan.

”So? Do you want me to hold them off, or do you want me to help you avoid their pursuit?” Yang Zhenshan asked calmly.

”Both!” Lv Hua said.

He needed Yang Zhenshan to stop the people from the Imperial Guard Department and to find a place of refuge for them.

Having fled from Capital City to Chongshan Pass, his forces had suffered many losses. If they continued to flee, not only would he lack the strength to fend off the Imperial Guard Department, but he also wouldn’t know where to run.

Were they to flee to the snowy wilderness?

Now only Yang Zhenshan could help them; they had placed all their hopes on him.

”Is Mr. Wang alright?” Yang Zhenshan looked at Wang Zhongzhi on the couch.

Lv Hua’s eyes showed a glimpse of concern, ”His life should be out of danger, but when he will awaken and what his condition will be after that, I cannot be certain!”

The torture Wang Zhongzhi endured was much more severe than it appeared on the surface. While the external injuries seemed severe, the most critical damage he suffered was to his internal organs.

If he had been an ordinary person, he probably would have died long ago.

Wang Zhongzhi’s survival until now was thanks to that strand of Innate True Qi within his body.

Yang Zhenshan placed his hand on Wang Zhongzhi’s wrist, feeling his pulse.

”The problem is not too serious, he can be healed!”

”He can be healed? You know medical skill?” exclaimed Lv Hua in surprise.

Yang Zhenshan’s mouth curved slightly, ”Have you forgotten why I was once reduced to being a country farmer?”

Wang Zhongzhi’s current injuries were very similar to those of Yang Zhenshan’s previous life, both of which were due to external injuries affecting the organs.

The difference was that the previous injuries had been dragged out too long, and his vitality was severely depleted.

Wang Zhongzhi was much older, and his body’s recovery ability was far inferior to that of Yang Zhenshan’s previous life, but being a Half-step Innate expert, that strand of Innate True Qi in his body could repair the organ damage.

The injuries of both men were comparable, with their own advantages and disadvantages.

To Yang Zhenshan, this was not a difficult condition to treat; it was just a matter of a few bowls of Spiritual Spring Water.

Lv Hua showed a sudden realization. He indeed had forgotten about Yang Zhenshan’s previous injuries.

”How about this, you stay here tonight, and tomorrow I will arrange a place for you to stay! However, disperse those outside first; too many people are not conducive to hiding!” Yang Zhenshan suggested.

Lv Hua nodded, but then asked, ”What about the Imperial Guard Department?”

Yang Zhenshan smiled, ”What does that have to do with me? I haven’t seen you guys! And I have no relation with you whatsoever!”
