Chaotic Sword God

Over the next few days, Jian Chen focused on refining the seed of ways. During this time, a few Immortal Exalts had arrived here. They all looked towards Jian Chen with gazes of desire and greed. The allure of a sovereign god artifact had made them lose their minds.

However, when they saw Xing Caijian thirty metres away, wariness filled their eyes again.

Who would have thought that Xing Caijian would actually bring the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star of the Heavenly Star Palace in with her.

The power of this sovereign god artifact was enough to give them all chills.

On this day, two figures approached this area. They were the Heavenloss Master of the Sword Sect of Yang Soul and the Zuo Dao of the Divine Valley of the Nine Heavens.

They did not move quickly, only covering ten kilometres with each step. They approached Jian Chen’s location at a steady pace.

“Stop right there!” Xing Caijian called out as her gaze locked onto the Heavenloss Master and Zuo Dao.

The Heavenloss Master and Zuo Dao stopped where they were. The Heavenloss Master spoke for them, smiling amicably. “Please do not misunderstand, princess Caijian. We’re with fellow Yang Yutian. Earlier when fellow Yang Yutian was trapped in a formation, it was the two of us and vice cult leader Lan Caidie of the Ghost Immortal cult who destroyed the formation and assisted him in breaking free.”

“Heavenloss Master, you flip sides faster than you can flip the pages of a book. In the beginning, it was you who rallied everyone together to capture Yang Yutian, wanting to take back the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing in Yang Yutian’s possession. Why have you lumped yourself with Yang Yutian now?”

As soon as the Heavenloss Master said that, a vigorous voice rang out from the distant mist. A middle-aged man strode over, stopping a hundred kilometres away in the end and staring at the Heavenloss Master in displeasure.

When she heard that, Xing Caijian’s eyes turned slightly cold.

The Heavenloss Master’s expression changed as he immediately called out, “Nonsense. That was just a slight misunderstanding between Yang Yutian and I. Now that we’ve already cleared up the misunderstanding, I will only provide fellow Yang Yutian with my full support. Anyone who makes an enemy out of fellow Yang Yutian is making an enemy out of me, as well as our Sword Sect of Yang Soul.”

The Heavenloss Master looked at the middle-aged man. His face was frosty. “On the other hand, if you really want to instigate enmity like this between us, Tiger Mountain Ancestor, I’ve remembered you. You better hope I don’t get a grasp over any of your vulnerabilities in your future, or I won’t let you off easily.”

The thing that the Heavenloss Master was most afraid of hearing right now was how he had hunted down Yang Yutian. He was afraid of it spreading further and further before reaching the ears of the elder princess of the Heavenly Palace of Great Radiance in the end. As a result, he immediately developed a grudge towards the Tiger Mountain Ancestor.

At this moment, a huge bell suddenly appeared over Jian Chen’s head. It radiated with the might of a high quality god artifact, directly slamming down over Jian Chen.

A sovereign god artifact was far too tempting. Even with Xing Caijian’s Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star as a deterrence, there were still people willing to take the risk to try and abduct Jian Chen.

“How dare you!” The coldness in Xing Caijian’s eyes intensified as she called out.

At the same time, the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star in her arms rose up into the air. It did not break free from the coarse cloth. It produced a terrifying strand of sword Qi that sliced through the space of the Skyscraping World, landing on the bell.

There were no deafening rumbles, nor were there any destructive energy storms. The high quality god artifact bell simply turned to dust mid-air. It did not leave behind a single fragment.

A hundred kilometres away, there was a grunt. At the same time, blood sprayed out in a hidden location. It was a Third Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt. After the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star destroyed the bell, he had suffered a backlash as well.

“How dare you! Those who lay their hands on fellow Yang Yutian are an enemy of mine. Stay right there!” the Heavenloss Master bellowed out. He was desperate to make up for his mistakes, so he immediately raced off in pursuit of the Third Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt.

In the next moment, a powerful streak of light erupted in the distance, followed by deafening rumbles.

However, the battle stopped very quickly. The Heavenloss Master retraced his steps. His presence was slightly disorderly. He sighed gently. “I let him get away.”

“That’s expected. When a Third Heavenly Layer expert focuses on fleeing, you can’t make them stay,” Zuo Dao said indifferently.

“Heavenloss Master, can you tell me why you want to help Yang Yutian?” At this moment, a discreet message drifted into the Heavenloss Master’s ear.

The Heavenloss Master’s eyes narrowed as he glanced at an old man who had just reached an area a hundred kilometres away. He could not help but become slightly cautious.

That was the Red Maple Grandmaster. He was from the Myriad Ways cult, which was mortal enemies with the Ghost Immortal cult. If it were not for the Heavenly Star Palace’s protection, the Immortal Ghost cult would have been destroyed by the Myriad Ways cult a long time ago.

The Red Maple Grandmaster stared straight at the Heavenloss Master. He urgently wanted to know the truth, as vice cult leader Lan Caidie of the Ghost Immortal cult was very close with Jian Chen. Jian Chen had pillaged many medicinal gardens in the Skyscraping World, which offended many large organisations in the Immortals’ World. Coupled with the bounty from the Immortal Feather sect and the fact that he stole an offering to the elder princess of the Heavenly Palace of Great Radiance, Jian Chen was already someone with a death sentence in the Red Maple Grandmaster’s eyes. No one could save him. He only needed to maneuver matters slightly to lump the Ghost Immortal cult with him. Even the Heavenly Star Palace would not be able to save them.

Yet right now, as one of the most important elements in this plan, the Heavenloss Master had actually changed his attitude significantly, which threw off the Red Maple Grandmaster.

Without the Heavenly Palace of Great Radiance’s participation, the forces to deter the Heavenly Star Palace would diminish drastically.

“You know Yang Yutian’s background, right? His background made you change your mind, right?” As the Heavenloss Master thought about how to answer the Red Maple Grandmaster, the Red Maple Grandmaster’s voice rang out again.

“Yeah, I found out about his background, which changed my mind,” the Heavenloss Master communicated back.

“What is his background?” The Red Maple Grandmaster’s tone was rather pressing.

“Who else could it be apart from the Heavenly Star Palace?” the Heavenloss Master replied in exasperation.

“The Heavenly Star Palace? Impossible. Your Sword Sect of Yang Soul is connected with the Heavenly Palace of Great Radiance. Why would just the Heavenly Star Palace make your attitude change in such a drastic manner?“ The Red Maple Grandmaster was unconvinced.

“It’s up to you whether to believe it or not.” The Heavenloss Master refused to elaborate, afraid of revealing more if he spoke further.

In the blink of an eye, a few more days passed. By now, the resistance from the seed of ways had completely vanished. All that remained was pure comprehension of the Way of the Sword. At the same time, it could be stored away in various spaces now.

At this moment, Jian Chen hesitated slightly. Did he want to completely absorb the seed of ways in the Skyscraping World, or did he want to stow it away for now and refine it after he had left this place?

After a moment of deliberation, he immediately pressed the seed of ways against his forehead. Pure Laws of the Sword turned into a steady trickle that merged with his soul.

Immediately, Jian Chen’s mind rumbled as if the sky had shattered. An unfamiliar and even grander world silently took shape.

The seed of ways was from the Skyscraping Sword Venerable after all. As soon as it entered Jian Chen’s soul, it gave Jian Chen a whole new experience. He felt like he had discovered a whole new world.

Right as Jian Chen merged the entire seed of ways into his soul, an Immortal Monarch sitting a thousand kilometres away snapped open his eyes. He glanced in Jian Chen’s direction. The thick mist did not affect his vision. His lips curled into a faint smile as he said, “It’s time!”
