Chaotic Sword God

It was not just him. Many other Immortal Exalts were also taken aback by the Heavenloss Master’s sudden, abnormal behaviour. They were confused.

At least Zuo Dao of the Divine Valley of the Nine Heavens’ actions made sense. He had never participated in any of the operations that went after Yang Yutian.

However, the Heavenloss Master was different. Previously, he had rallied many Immortal Exalts in the Skyscraping World to capture Yang Yutian and retrieve the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing. He had created a great disturbance on the mountain peak.

Although these Immortal Exalts participated in the capture of Yang Yutian, most of them had only done so because they wanted the heavenly resources in his possession. However, the Heavenloss Master had also been a major motivating factor.

Yet in the end, not only did the Heavenloss Master fail to take back the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing, but he was now even standing on Yang Yutian’s side. He personally destroyed the final formation to free him. The huge turnaround left them all rather confused.

After all, they had no feuds with Yang Yutian. They simply did this for their interests, unlike the Heavenloss Master who had even tried to hunt down Yang Yutian due to the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing.

“Heavenloss Master, don’t tell me you think he’ll hand over the treasure obediently if you save him? If that’s really what you think, you’d be far too naive…”

“Heavenloss Master, I know you’re actually after the treasure as well, but you never, ever should have freed Yang Yutian. Do you have any idea just how much effort it took us to trap him?”

“You fool. Even if you want to contend for the treasure, you would want to deal with Yang Yutian first and not help free him…”

“Heavenloss Master, you were the most fervent one in pursuing Yang Yutian previously. I struggle to understand why you want to help him now…”

The Heavenloss Master’s face became more and more ugly. After learning that Jian Chen possessed a tablet personally issued by the elder princess of the Heavenly Palace of Great Radiance, he did not dare to go after him anymore. At the same time, he was afraid of these words that put him in opposition to Yang Yutian.

In particular, when he heard what they said at the very end about him hunting down Yang Yutian, it seemed to set him off. Fury burned inside him as he bellowed out, “Shut up! It is not up to you to tell me what I should or shouldn’t do. In short, I definitely won’t just watch you outnumber and overwhelm fellow Yang Yutian right now.”

With that, the Heavenloss Master’s presence surged once more. His will had never been so firm. He turned around and glanced at Jian Chen in the distance who had yet to leave. He roared out, “Fellow Yang Yutian, go! I’ll buy time for you!”

“You’re mad, Heavenloss Master. I think you’ve lost your mind. You have no idea what you’re doing anymore,” a Third Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt said coldly. Wielding a god artifact sword, he surged with sword intent and directly slashed apart space. He thrust his sword towards the Heavenloss Master with unprecedented might.

“Heavenloss Master, even if your Sword Sect of Yang Soul has the Heavenly Palace of Great Radiance backing you, we will never back down before an opportunity like this. If you insist on being stubborn, then we can only offend you…”

Facing the incoming attack, the Heavenloss Master behaved like he was confronting a great enemy. He also thrust out with his sword. Immediately, a terrifying might of the world permeated out, making his sword seemingly turn into a roaring sun. It collided with the Third Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt’s sword with the might of a God Tier Immortal Technique.

Boom! With a great rumble, the Heavenloss Master staggered backwards uncontrollably within the violent storm of energy.

The Third Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt also stumbled backwards uncontrollably.

They were both experts who had grasped the Way of the Sword, so their battle prowess was very great. The God Tier Immortal Technique used by the Heavenloss Master with his cultivation at the Second Heavenly Layer only managed to match his opponent.

However, it was not just a single person who attacked the Heavenloss Master. Shortly afterwards, two Second Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalts also took action. They produced two powerful streaks of light that shot towards the Heavenloss Master with their god artifact swords.

The Heavenloss Master roared out furiously and blocked with his sword. However, he had just used a God Tier Immortal Technique. He was currently in a state of overexertion, so he obviously could not defend against the two attacks.

With a deep grunt, the Heavenloss Master was knocked away. He slammed into a rock wall behind him in an extremely sorry fashion.

“Galaxial Curtain!”

On the other side, Zuo Dao of the Divine Valley of the Nine Heavens was fighting as well. He used a secret technique from the Divine Valley of the Nine Heavens. As he punched out, a gorgeous galaxy appeared.

The power behind his punch was so great that even some Third Heavenly Layer experts became wary.

But in the next moment, several Immortal Exalts struck out at the same time. Zuo Dao’s secret technique was instantly shattered. Afterwards, he was also launched away like the Heavenloss Master.

In an evenly-numbered battle against another cultivator of the same cultivation, regular Immortal Exalts would not be Zuo Dao’s opponent at all with his legacy from the Divine Valley of the Nine Heavens. However, there was nothing he could do about being outnumbered.

Before the tremendous temptation of a sovereign god artifact, no one cared about Zuo Dao and the Heavenloss Master’s background anymore, but they did not try to kill them either. They only combined their strength to repel the two.

Outnumbered by several fold, both Zuo Dao and the Heavenloss Master’s efforts were feeble. They could not stop them at all.

On the other side, Lan Caidie had already used the power of the Remains of the Ghost Immortal. She had become extremely feeble, but she still grabbed Jian Chen by the shoulder. She turned into a blood-red blur that shot into the distance as quickly as possible.

She was extremely feeble right now. Whenever she used the power of the Remains of the Ghost Immortal, she would have to pay a hefty price. Right now, she only had the strength to flee. She no longer had any battle prowess left.

If she took too long, even escaping would become difficult for her.

“Vice cult leader Lan, you’ve already achieved your objective. Why are you still using this power to save me?” At this moment, Jian Chen suddenly opened his eyes as Lan Caidie carried him in her arms. He communicated to Lan Caidie carefully. He seemed extremely feeble as if he was on the brink of death.

Lan Caidie moved extremely quickly. She sped along the wide mountain path and did not waste a single moment. She glanced at Jian Chen with a hint of worry and said, “You’re not from the Ghost Immortal cult, so you do not understand just how much assistance the heavenly emperor has given to us. You also do not understand just how grateful our Ghost Immortal cult is towards the heavenly emperor. Since you are someone that the heavenly emperor favours, then I must save you even if it costs me my life.”

In the shadows, the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy hid himself in the void, following behind Lan Caidie with composure. He heard every word that Lan Caidie said.

“A heavenly emperor? This kid actually has a heavenly emperor standing behind him?” The Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy narrowed his eyes slightly. Heavenly emperor was a supreme title used in the Immortals’ World. Throughout history, heavenly emperors represented existences only second to Grand Exalts. Let alone a Seventh Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt like him, heavenly emperors were great figures that even some Ninth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalts could not afford to provoke.

However, even when he found out that a heavenly emperor stood behind Jian Chen, the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy did not give up at all. The caution in his eyes only became slightly heavier.

“You should go quickly. Don’t worry about me. There’s a late Immortal Exalt in the Skyscraping World,” Jian Chen said sternly.

When she heard that, Lan Caidie shuddered. Her elderly face immediately changed drastically. Her gaze blanked out at that moment as well.

However, she soon shook her head subconsciously. “Impossible. That’s completely impossible. The Skyscraping World has already opened numerous times. The items of greatest value that still remain here are the seed of ways and the nine secret techniques that the Skyscraping Sword Venerable left behind. Just these things alone are not enough to attract late Immortal Exalts. Why would people as important as them be bored enough to come here in person? Even if there’s something that they need from here, they would only send a subordinate.”

“You know I possess an item of that level. With the confirmation of the artifact spirit, do you think this is false?” Jian Chen said.

Lan Caidie stiffened slightly. Shortly afterwards, a sense of coldness silently spread through her body. She could deny Jian Chen’s theory. After all, Jian Chen was merely an Immortal Emperor at the end of the day.

However, if he had received the confirmation from the artifact spirit of a sovereign god artifact, then it had to be true.

Taking advantage of this moment, Jian Chen immediately broke free from Lan Caidie’s grip. He glanced at the seed of ways that had greatly diminished in power but still radiated its presence far enough and let out a gentle sigh.

“Don’t worry about me, or you’ll doom yourself.” Leaving that behind, Jian Chen used the Laws of Space and shot off into the distance, immediately vanishing into the thick mist.

The seed of ways in his hand constantly projected a powerful presence into the distance like a lantern in the dark, providing the pursuing Immortal Exalts with accurate directions.
