Chaotic Sword God

Jian Chen ignored the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt’s excitement. He immediately collected the Immortal Exalt’s corpse, planning on handing it over to the Immortal Devouring Orchid later.

This time, he did not intentionally clean up the traces. He only made the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt clean up his demonic presence. Afterwards, he intentionally sprinkled some of the Immortal Exalt’s blood before vanishing again with the Divine Armour of Heavenflight.

Four hours after Jian Chen left, two First Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalts arrived. They immediately noticed the droplets of blood scattered on the ground, which left them pondering.

One of them waved his hand gently. A droplet immediately rose up from the ground, hovering before them.

“This is… the Ink Scar Ancestor’s blood!” They immediately recognised the owner of the blood, and their faces changed.

“Was the Ink Scar Ancestor injured here? Could it be Yang Yutian who injured him?” an Immortal Exalt asked with uncertainty.

“He should have been injured by Yang Yutian’s strange secret technique but don’t worry. It’s impossible to defend against that secret technique, but there’s the two of us. If we work together, he won’t even have the time to use the secret technique…” the other Immortal Exalt said confidently. Shortly afterwards, he looked at his companion and scoffed, “What? You’re thinking of shirking away?”

“Sigh, so many Immortal Exalts have searched for him for so long, and we still haven’t captured him. I just have a feeling that although he’s an Immortal Emperor, he’s probably not that easy to deal with.”

“Of course, he’s not easy to deal with. If he were easy to deal with, why would the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing still be lost? But to us, Yang Yutian is also an opportunity, a shortcut for all of our organisations to befriend those rulers at the apex. If we succeed, the organisations behind us will rise up, without any fear of any threats or challenges. However, this opportunity obviously comes with a certain amount of risk. C’mon, let’s keep looking. When we come across the Ink Scar Ancestor next time, we’ll ask him about the situation…”

......

…

Elsewhere, Jian Chen sat on a smooth rock. Before him hovered a shrub a metre in height, radiating with a hazy glow.

The tree itself was a mid grade God Tier heavenly resource. Its greatest effect was to recover the power of the soul.

However, the method of consuming it was not to devour it whole.

Jian Chen opened his palm. As he circulated his Chaotic Force, a ball of chaotic flames immediately sprouted in his hand, radiating with heat.

He scorched the metre-long shrub with the chaotic flames. The verdant shrub immediately began to wither. Droplets of jade-green fluid were forced out, wrapped in an invisible power as it hovered in the air.

Before long, the shrub turned to ash. A few droplets of jade-green fluid hovered in front of Jian Chen, radiating with enchanting fragrance.

The droplets of fluid contained all of the essence of a mid grade God Tier heavenly resource.

In the next moment, the droplets of fluid merged into Jian Chen’s forehead, turning into a cool and refreshing presence that his soul absorbed.

Jian Chen sat on the rock with his eyes shut, focusing on digesting the effects. His depleted power of the soul began to recover rapidly.

For the next period of time, Jian Chen began his hunt of Immortal Exalts. He repeated the same trick, interfering with their souls through the Profound Sword Qi first before getting the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt to strike when they were vulnerable, directly invading their bodies and annihilating them through their souls.

The targets that Jian Chen chose were all First and Second Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalts, and none of them were supreme geniuses. None of them possessed the ability to challenge those stronger than them, so whenever Jian Chen took action, these Immortal Exalts were guaranteed to die.

As for the Third Heavenly Layer experts, Jian Chen temporarily chose to avoid them. He could still kill Third Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalts if he worked together with the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt without using the Divine Formation of the Heavens.

However, the effort required was far too great, and it was easy for the enemy to escape, so Jian Chen had no plans to go after opponents like this for now.

The other reason was also because there were far too few Third Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalts in the Skyscraping World. Most of them were at the First or Second Heavenly layer.

During this time, Jian Chen had already wandered through the various regions of the mountain peak several times, but he did not find the daughter of the heavenly emperor, Xing Caijian. It was as if Xing Caijian had vanished into thin air after he had set foot on the mountain peak. There were no traces of her to be seen.

However, he did encounter Lan Caidie several times. She had already recovered from her feeble state, but she still was not in peak condition. She simply sat on a boulder out in the open, meditating. Groups and groups of Immortal Exalts passed by her, but no one dared to provoke her.

Even the Fourth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt, the Profound Spirit Master, chose to keep his distance from Lan Caidie, acting as if he had completely forgotten about how she had attacked him earlier.

The startling power of the Remains of the Ghost Immortal had left a permanent impression on the Profound Spirit Master. Without any particularly great conflicts of interest, he refused to provoke Lan Caidie.

“Sigh, the mountain peak is only so big. Yang Yutian has managed to avoid being captured after all this time. How astounding.” Zhou Yunzhuang sighed to himself as he sat on the ground in a certain region of the mountain peak.

When he heard that, the Crouching Peace Master who sat beside him became filled with mixed feelings. “Have you noticed that the experts searching for Yang Yutian seem to have reduced in number?”

“Yeah, there have indeed been fewer Immortal Exalts that have passed by this place recently. They’ve probably given up on the search and chosen to adjust their conditions somewhere else,” Zhou Yunzhuang said without any concern.

“Fellow Chu, what do you think?” The Crouching Peace Master looked at the third Immortal Exalt around them.

He was an old man in green. His presence was withdrawn, which made him seem like an ordinary old man. It was very difficult for him to raise any attention.

“Some people have obviously given up. Crouching Peace Master, are you asking this because you suspect that they’ve met a bad end?” the old man in green asked indifferently.

The Crouching Peace Master was rather stern. “I just have a bad feeling that these people have perhaps actually encountered trouble…”

......

…

“Hmm? It’s the Profound Spirit Master. Profound Spirit Master, have you seen the Kylin Heaven Master?”

“Fellow Blackwind, have you come across the Azure Sky Laity, the Snow Sword Ancestor, or the Eight Regions Ancestor…”

“That’s strange, why haven’t we encountered the Ink Scar Ancestor after all this time…”

“And the Seven Antelope Ancestor. It seems like a very long time since we came across him…”

......

…

Gradually, the Immortal Exalts who continued to search the Skyscraping World for Jian Chen noticed the strangeness. Some of the regular faces they usually encountered seemed to have evaporated altogether. They had not seen them in a very long time.

At the same time, some of the presence and traces they left behind in the Skyscraping World gradually vanished.

This phenomenon left many Immortal Exalts uncertain. They were all filled with an ill omen.

The Heavenloss Master from the Sword Sect of Yang Soul noticed this situation as well. He stood before a sheer cliff and stared at the rock face seemingly sliced by a knife. He was filled with mixed feelings.

He seemed to know the fate of these missing people already, but for some reason unbeknownst to him, he did not disclose the fact that Jian Chen possessed a tablet personally bestowed to him by the elder princess.
