Chaotic Sword God

Imbued with the Laws of Space, Jian Chen moved with lightning speed. He seemed to surpass the limits of space. His hand immediately appeared before the seed of ways.

However, right when Jian Chen was about to grasp the seed of ways, it vanished again. No matter how abundant the preparation that Jian Chen and the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt made was, it did not seem to be enough to stop it from escaping.

“It’s escaped again!” Jian Chen furrowed his brows. He used the secret technique from the Skyscraping Sword Venerable again. Under his full strength, it took him less than three seconds to lock onto where the seed of ways had fled to.

He sent the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt back into the Primeval Divine Hall to hide before activating the concealment ability of the Divine Armour of Heavenflight, racing off towards the seed of ways.

Soon after Jian Chen left, several Immortal Exalts appeared. They all paused and furrowed their brows.

“Why is there a faint hint of demon Qi here? Don’t tell me there are experts of the demonic path among those who entered the Skyscraping World this time?”

“I remember every single person who entered the Skyscraping World. Some of these people hid themselves relatively well. It was difficult to see through them, but there was definitely no demonic expert among them…”

“Lingering demon Qi doesn’t necessarily mean there’s a demonic expert. It could also be from a demonic object. After all, there are plenty of people who secretly use demonic artifacts among the experts of the Immortals’ World…”

“Forget about the demon Qi. None of that is important. The important thing is finding the seed of ways…”

After a short pause, the Immortal Exalts went off on their search again.

At this moment, Jian Chen found the seed of ways again several thousand kilometres away. It was only the size of a fist, a ball of light condensed from the Laws of the Sword. It radiated with powerful sword intent. If no one tried to capture it, it would not flee. Instead, it was like a fairy, drifting around in a small region in the surroundings.

“Master, there is a connection between the seed of ways and the Skyscraping World. If it uses the power of the formations to escape, then probably even some Ninth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalts can’t stop it from fleeing unless they possess strength that rivals the formations that protect the Skyscraping World.” At this moment, the sword spirits’ voices rang out in Jian Chen’s head.

“Hey… erm… Jian Chen, you only need to catch it a few more times. It can’t use the ability where it flees through the formations too many times. It uses up a part of its power whenever it escapes. Once it runs out, then it’ll be a sitting duck,” the Source of Life added. It had gradually become considerate of Jian Chen despite its initial rejection and resistance to him.

Jian Chen looked at the seed of ways drifting around before him and smiled deeply. “If that’s the case, then I’ll chase you until you run out of power. This is probably the ultimate reason for why the Skyscraping Sword Venerable taught me this secret technique.”

Afterwards, Jian Chen repeated the same trick, using his Laws of Space to chase down the seed of ways.

The seed of ways would not teleport every single time. Most of the time, it escaped by flying away. Only when it ran out of options would it use the power of the formations to vanish.

At a time like this, the Laws of Space that Jian Chen had inherited from the soul of the Spatial Insect Emperor came into play. Despite his Laws of Space coming nowhere close to Immortal Exalt, his usage and grasp of the Laws of Space had reached quite a high level of mastery through his intimate connection with space. As a result, the seed of ways could not flee for long under Jian Chen’s chase. Jian Chen would be able to force it into a corner every several dozen seconds, forcing it to escape using the formations of the Skyscraping World.

But despite that, Jian Chen would lock onto its new position very quickly.

At this moment, Jian Chen was like a leech, latching onto the seed of ways firmly. He could not be shaken off no matter what.

“That’s strange. Where did the seed of ways? Where’d it go…”

“Who found the seed of ways? Why does it feel like it’s suddenly vanished for good…”

“Something is off. Even if the seed of ways can teleport away, it can’t teleport too far away. We should have found it a long time ago…”

“Expand the search region. Scour the entire mountain peak…”

Many Immortal Exalts rushed around the Skyscraping World like headless flies. They had completely lost track of the seed of ways.

At this moment, Jian Chen chased after the seed of ways and gradually forced it to the other side of the mountain. It was relatively far away from the Immortal Exalts. Essentially, they were on the front of the mountain, while he was on the back of the mountain.

After all, the region around the mountain peak was not an open, flat area. That was only the case for the area near the very peak.

After teleporting away several times, the seed of ways seemed to run out of power. It was on the verge of exhaustion. As a matter of fact, it was quite obvious that it became more difficult to use the formations of the Skyscraping World to flee.

Of course, in terms of exhaustion, that was only the power it used when teleporting away. The mysteries of the laws that it contained had not diminished at all.

“It has already run out of power. Thousand Soul Demon Exalt, trap it!” At this moment, Jian Chen bellowed out. The power of the Laws of Space gathered around him. He did his best to disturb the space there.

“Hehehe, it definitely won’t be escaping this time.” The Thousand Soul Demon Exalt laughed aloud and struck out without holding back, restraining the seed of ways with his full strength. Even though he was unable to restrain the actual seed of ways, he still disturbed it to his greatest ability.

The seed of ways had virtually run out of power. All of its energy had been spent while fleeing. It was no different from a sitting duck right now.

In the end, Jian Chen’s hand seemed to merge into the space there. As he swung down, everything in the surrounding region immediately entered his hand.

He gripped the seed of ways firmly in his hand.

“After all this trouble, I’ve finally caught you.” Jian Chen smiled victoriously as he looked at the seed of ways stuck in his hand.

He had achieved his original goal behind entering the Skyscraping World.

But very soon, Jian Chen’s smile stiffened. Right when he wanted to stow the seed of ways away, he discovered that he could not no matter what he tried. All of the objects he carried were incapable of holding the seed of ways.

Even the space in his soul could not.

“Primeval artifact spirit, send the seed of ways into the divine hall.” Jian Chen communicated with the artifact spirit of the Primeval Divine Hall.

“I can’t. The formations in the Skyscraping World stop it. Unless the power of the formations here are completely suppressed, you won’t be able to take it away with you.” The artifact spirit of the Primeval Divine Hall sighed gently and said, “If I were at my peak condition, this would obviously be a trifling matter, but right now, the Primeval Divine Hall’s powers come nowhere close to contending against formations of this level. It can only protect itself from the formations.”

When he heard that, Jian Chen furrowed his brows. He immediately used the Divine Armour of Heavenflight in an attempt to keep hiding.

He ended up disappearing, but the seed of ways in his hand remained exposed. Anyone could see it.

The concealing ability of the Divine Armour of Heavenflight could not hide the seed of ways.

“Not only am I unable to place it in the divine hall, but even the Divine Armour of Heavenflight can’t hide it. That’s basically forcing me to refine it on the spot. The test that the Skyscraping Sword Venerable set down is truly quite difficult.” Jian Chen furrowed his brows deeply. He could not completely refine the seed of ways in a short period of time.
