Chaotic Sword God

“The Skyscraping World has many formations. Under the protection of these formations, even some Ninth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalts can’t force their way in. However, our Divine Sect of Ancient Souls has an ancient secret technique passed down from our ancestors. It is a Grand Exalt’s secret technique, which has greatly surpassed the peak formations of the Skyscraping World. Once used, even the formations of the Skyscraping World can’t stop it.”

“Soul Guarding Ancestor, we’re willing to sacrifice ourselves for the future of the sect, but this is the Skyscraping World. The obstructing power from the formations is far too powerful. If you use this ancient technique under these circumstances, y- you might…” The Immortal Emperor from the Divine Sect of Ancient Soul trembled. He did not like the consequences for the Soul Guarding Ancestor.

The Soul Guarding Ancestor’s eyes burned brightly. He said coldly, “As long as we can summon the soul of the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy, so what if I end up perishing in the process?”

“Alright, we don’t have much time. If you have any last words, say them now. If not, we’ll begin immediately.”

With that, the two experts from the Divine Sect of Ancient Souls glanced at one another. Their eyes were filled with determination and resolve. They passed their possessions over to the Soul Guarding Ancestor and said their final words to him. Afterwards, a ball of black flames rapidly rose up from them. Under excruciating pain, they offered up themselves through the secret technique without any hesitation.

The Soul Guarding Ancestor bellowed out. A profound formation immediately appeared in the air. The two of them sacrificed themselves to power this formation, and it shone with black light, emanating with an eerie presence.

Spurt! The Soul Guarding Ancestor sprayed the formation with a mouthful of essence blood. His vitality was being exhausted at an unbelievable rate. Meanwhile, the presence from the formation grew stronger and stronger.

In the next moment, the black light that the formation erupted with immediately swallowed the space, engulfing several dozen kilometres in radius. It plunged the region into absolute darkness.

Residing in the darkness, the Soul Guarding Ancestor felt like his senses expanded indefinitely, extending towards the distant Divine Sect of Ancient Souls.

But at this moment, an invisible power appeared from nowhere, blocking right in front of the Soul Guarding Ancestor and severing his connection with the Divine Sect of Ancient Souls.

This was the power of the formations of the Skyscraping World!

The Soul Guarding Ancestor had anticipated this situation. He did not panic at all. He began to burn his vitality, sacrificing his own wellbeing and using his full strength to breach the obstacles of the Skyscraping World.

“This is a supreme forbidden technique, created by the Grand Exalt that our Divine Sect of Ancient Souls gave birth to in the past. Skyscraping World, you can’t stop me…” the Soul Guarding Ancestor roared furiously. He used his full strength to breach the obstacles from the Skyscraping World.

At the same time, in an unknown location of the Immortals’ World where the Divine Sect of Ancient Souls stood, a bone was enshrined at the very top of an ancient hall that radiated with a sense of antiquity.

The bone was completely pitch-black. It seemed ordinary. There was nothing special about it. It did not give off any particular pressure or energy either.

Only a heavy sense of antiquity, one that would not go away, surrounded the bone all year round.

This was a sovereign’s bone, left behind by the Grand Exalt ancestor that had appeared in the history of the Divine Sect of Ancient Souls.

However, it was only a regular bone. To the Divine Sect of Ancient Souls, its symbolic meaning had instead exceeded any practical purpose.

It was also exactly because the bone was not worth much, nowhere close to a sovereign god artifact, that the Divine Sect of Ancient Souls still possessed it to this day. Otherwise, other experts would have seized it.

At this moment, the bone seemed to sense something. It emitted a faint, dark glow.

“Hmm?”

A gentle voice of surprise suddenly rang out in the pitch-black and silent hall. In the next moment, a figure that seemed to have merged with the darkness appeared before the bone. He bowed towards the bone respectfully before erupting with surging energy and channelling it furiously into the bone.

Immediately, the terrifying pressure of a Seventh Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt emanated out, making the entire ancient hall shake.

“What has happened…”

“Soul Guarding has used the supreme forbidden technique. Isn’t he in the Sky Skyscraping World right now?”

Several other figures appeared in the ancient and dark hall. They seemed to be part of the darkness as well, merging with the space perfectly. It was extremely difficult to notice them.

“Soul Guarding is calling for me in the Skyscraping World. He must have paid an extremely great cost to do that. Something startling must have occurred.” A deep voice rang out. It came from the figure who channelled his energy into the bone.

He was the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy, the strongest expert of the Divine Sect of Ancient Souls, as well as an existence at the peak of the Seventh Heavenly Layer of Immortal Exalt!

......

…

“Oh no, the obstruction from the Skyscraping World is actually even stronger than I imagined. Even with the Grand Exalt’s secret technique I’m using right now, I’m struggling to get through it instantly.” The Soul Guarding Ancestor’s face was ugly inside the Skyscraping World. Only when he truly clashed with the formations of the Skyscraping World did he understand just how powerful and deep they were.

“Soul Guarding, what’s going on?” At this moment, a booming voice drowned out everything in the Soul Guarding Ancestor’s mind, resonating with absolute authority.

Shortly afterwards, the Soul Guarding Ancestor discovered that a tremendous power that he found to be extremely familiar appeared on the other side to him. The two powers worked together from both inside and out, penetrating the barrier of the Skyscraping World and establishing a weak connection through space.

“Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy, a tremendous opportunity has appeared in the Skyscraping World…” The Soul Guarding Ancestor immediately became excited. He quickly told the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy about everything that had happened in the Skyscraping World through this technique.

After hearing all that, the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy sank into momentary silence. After a gentle sigh, he said, “That is indeed a tremendous opportunity, but unfortunately, only you are currently in the Skyscraping World. The formations of the Skyscraping World are so powerful that even someone as powerful as a heavenly emperor can’t breach them in a short amount of time. After all, a total of three heavenly emperors took part in setting up the formations in the past, and that’s without considering all the other experts.”

“With such terrifying formations separating us, I can’t come to you.”

“Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy, I’m willing to sacrifice my soul. That way, you’ll be able to come in,” the Soul Guarding Ancestor said with burning ambition.

“You will die!” the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy said sternly.

“As long as the Divine Sect of Ancient Souls can capture this opportunity, I’ll offer up everything I have willingly.” The Soul Guarding Ancestor’s tone was determined. He had already seen past death.

The Ancestor of the Clear and Cloud fell silent. Losing an Immortal Exalt was a heavy blow even to the Divine Sect of Ancient Souls. A price like this was far too large.

“If you want to take advantage of this opportunity, inside the Skyscraping World will be our only chance, as this place is blocked by many formations. Only our Divine Sect of Ancient Souls has a way to enter. Other experts are unable to get in here. However, once we leave the Skyscraping World, then our Divine Sect of Ancient Souls will not have any chance anymore,” the Soul Guarding Ancestor said urgently.
