I Married the President

Chapter 237: Chapter 237: Old Hand

Claire Sinclair had won a perfect victory. She was on cloud nine and immediately posted two extra Chapters to celebrate her win for originality.

As soon as the new content was posted, she received several thousand-yuan donations from anonymous big shots.

User Editor Dylan Wells has gifted 100,000 Book Coins to *What Do I Do If I Still Want to Break Up With You Today?*!

User Mrs. Quincy’s #1 Fan has gifted 100,000 Book Coins to *What Do I Do If I Still Want to Break Up With You Today?*!

User Focused on Originality has gifted 100,000 Book Coins to *What Do I Do If I Still Want to Break Up With You Today?*!

...

Seeing these unknown big shots being so generous, Claire Sinclair felt like she was being doted on. She secretly resolved to write this book well and not let down her readers’ support.

In any case, the plagiarism controversy was over.

Life returned to normal.

Although she had temporarily made up with Adrian Quincy, Claire Sinclair didn’t move back into Quincy Manor.

The consequence of living with him was being taken by him night after night without restraint. She had no desire to work like a dog all day only to have to ”work overtime” with him at night.

In her spare time, Claire Sinclair would occasionally update her novel, but she focused most of her energy on her job, concentrating on her primary duties as a journalist.

Once the plagiarism controversy died down, Henry Hartwell started taking Claire Sinclair out to chase stories.

At first, he took her to some simple events to write standard press releases.

After she mastered the basic reporting and writing skills, Henry Hartwell began teaching her more advanced techniques, like on-site undercover interviews, infiltration, surveillance, and eavesdropping.

These tasks were quite difficult, and at first, Claire Sinclair was a nervous wreck doing them. But after hanging around Henry Hartwell for a while, she grew a thicker skin and became bolder, acting more and more like a seasoned veteran.

Of course, ”seasoned veteran” was just her own self-assessment.

Henry Hartwell’s evaluation of her was another matter entirely—

”Claire Sinclair, you’re becoming quite the little vixen. I have a final test for you. If you complete it, you’ll have officially graduated from your training.”

Claire Sinclair didn’t particularly like being called a little vixen. The term was a bit too close to something much less flattering.

”What final test?”

”I want you to find a completely new angle and write a feature story on Young Master Quincy. You can’t leak any of Quincy Manor’s secrets or reveal Young Master Quincy’s position, but you have to portray the righteous conduct of Quincy Manor, reflect the upstanding image of the Quincy Clan, and praise their selfless spirit.”

Claire Sinclair raised an eyebrow. ”Teacher Hartwell, are you sure you’re not just trying to make things difficult for me?”

”Haha, how could this be making things difficult? The quadrennial Official Announcement Day is coming up. When it arrives, every department has to run promotions with their media partners. The Astoria Daily has worked with many organizations over the years, but this is our first time with Quincy Manor. You, my dear, have a heavy burden and a long road ahead.”

Hearing this, Claire Sinclair had another objection. ”This is such a big deal, and I’m supposed to do it all by myself?”

”Of course it’s not just you. You can have anyone from the paper work with you.”

”That’s not a good idea. I just started not long ago, so the senior reporters definitely won’t listen to me. Teacher Hartwell, how about you hold a team meeting to see who wants to volunteer? Then we can all work together.”

”Alright. Go tell everyone to come to the conference room. Meeting in five minutes.”

With that, Henry Hartwell grabbed a notebook and went into the conference room.

Claire Sinclair walked into the main office area and announced loudly, ”Meeting in the conference room in five minutes! Teacher Hartwell is leading it, so get ready!”

Everyone glanced at Claire Sinclair, silently put down their work, and started heading to the conference room.

Claire Sinclair grabbed her own notebook and followed them into the conference room.

Once everyone had arrived, Henry Hartwell got straight to the point. ”The topic of this meeting is Official Announcement Day. This year, our paper is partnering with Quincy Manor.”

Just hearing the words ”Quincy Manor” was enough to get everyone’s attention.

”Doesn’t Quincy Manor usually stay away from this sort of thing?”
