I Married the President

Chapter 211: Chapter 211: Young Madam, Can You Be a Little Kinder to Young Master Quincy?

Now that she had left, where was she supposed to go next?

Claire Sinclair felt a little lost. Although she’d arranged with Teacher Hartwell to stay at a hotel for the time being, for some reason, her heart felt hollow, like something was missing.

’Forget it, Claire Sinclair. Pull yourself together!’

Just as she was about to walk to the side of the road to hail a cab, she suddenly remembered something. Slapping her forehead, she quickly turned back.

Damn it, she hadn’t gotten her Little White back yet!

Claire Sinclair walked up to the gates of Quincy Manor, but as she tried to enter, a guard stopped her.

”Stop. What’s your business here?”

’This guard has got to be kidding me. I was just gone for a moment, and he already doesn’t recognize me???’

Claire Sinclair said irritably, ”I’m here to see Mr. Quincy.”

The guard said sternly, ”No entry without a pass. Please present your pass!”

’A pass? What pass?’

After thinking for a long moment, it occurred to her that he might mean her marriage certificate. She patted down all her pockets, but found nothing besides her phone.

Then she remembered—her marriage certificate was still in her suitcase, which she hadn’t brought with her.

’So, it looks like I’m not getting in.’

’Adrian Quincy, I never thought you’d be this ruthless. The moment we’re divorced, you turn on me and act like you don’t even know me. Ha...’

Claire Sinclair let out a bitter, self-mocking laugh. Wasn’t this the outcome she’d been hoping for?

Whatever. Who cares.

Claire Sinclair didn’t press the issue. She simply turned and walked away.

Once she was a good distance away, Aiden Howkins emerged from the guardhouse. Staring at her retreating figure, he sighed, ”Young Madam, can’t you be a little kinder to Young Master Quincy?”

He’d just have to wait and see when the young lady would have a change of heart.

...

Henry Hartwell could be quite dependable at times. When Claire Sinclair arrived at the hotel, a room was already booked for her—the very same one she had stayed in last time.

However, it seemed the guy himself had stepped out for something, only leaving a message for her with the front desk.

Once inside her room, the first thing Claire Sinclair did was pull out her phone and start browsing for computers online.

After her last unpleasant shopping experience, she had no intention of buying a computer from a brick-and-mortar store again. She’d just buy one online to use for the time being. As for Little White, she would just have to wait.

After browsing for nearly an hour, Claire Sinclair finally placed an order. She ended up buying a 30,000-yuan laptop, along with a pile of accessories, planning to do some custom modifications herself later.

And just like that, her accommodation and new computer were sorted out.

The next day, as she had hoped, Claire Sinclair returned to her job at the Astoria Daily.

As soon as she arrived at the office, she was bombarded with concern from her colleagues, which made her a little embarrassed.

After finally making it through the requisite pleasantries, Claire Sinclair returned to her desk, sat down, turned on her work computer, and got ready to start her day.

Just then, Phoebe Lockwood suddenly walked over, arms crossed over her chest, her attitude as arrogant as ever. ”Claire Sinclair, did you have fun at the training camp?”

”Oh, it was fun. A blast, actually. It’s a shame you didn’t go. If you had, you could have met your Prince Charming—my ex, Mr. Quincy.”

”What did you say? Young Master Quincy went to the training camp, too?” Phoebe Lockwood took the bait, getting incredibly excited.

Claire Sinclair was just trying to get a rise out of her, but she hadn’t expected to hit a nerve so perfectly. ”I’m not lying. But Mr. Quincy just came to run a few laps with me before he had to leave. He’s too busy to stay for long, you know.”

Hearing this, Phoebe Lockwood was internally consumed by a raging fire of jealousy, but she didn’t let it show, forcing herself to appear calm instead.

”What’s so great about that? Young Master Quincy isn’t someone a little commoner like you could ever get her hooks into. And let me tell you, at the end of the month, a major VIP is coming to Aethelgard. I’ll be the one hosting the reception, and Young Master Quincy will be there, too.”
