I Married the President

Chapter 236: Chapter 236: Deathbed Struggle

Claire Sinclair had no patience for formalities. ”That’s not my concern,” she said coolly. ”You all can figure it out.”

”In that case, I won’t disturb you any longer, Miss Sinclair. If anything comes up, you can call me, and I’ll handle it for you immediately.”

”Okay, goodbye.”

Claire Sinclair couldn’t be bothered being polite with such a self-serving little man. She hung up and stood, stretching languidly.

’Come to think of it, that scumbag just said CloudScript Group apologized on Weibo and would drop the lawsuit. Lily Yariel’s side should be dropping their suit too, right?’

Curious, Claire Sinclair logged onto Weibo. The first thing she did was check CloudScript’s official page, and sure enough, she saw the statement announcing the withdrawal of the lawsuit and the apology.

Next, she clicked on Lily Yariel’s Weibo page but saw no statement from her about dropping the suit.

Not only that, but ten minutes earlier, Lily Yariel had posted a furious rant—

[Now I’ve truly seen what it means to have powerful backing. Two thousand top-tier patrons on the first day, and then they stole the promotional resources for all my works. And that’s not all. They also forced the site to take down five of my completed works, leaving only the one I’m currently serializing. Impressive, truly impressive. Too powerful for me, I get it!]

’This woman... is she really planning to struggle to the bitter end?’

’Or was Marcus Miles just messing with me when he called?’

Claire Sinclair clicked on the CloudScript Group’s official page again and found that they had published a new statement ten minutes ago—

[After a thorough investigation, we have confirmed that a number of works by our site’s author, Lily Yariel, contain significant amounts of plagiarized content. We have already removed the works in question. Additionally, we have identified the sections in *Brilliant Billionaire Years* plagiarized from Mrs. Quincy’s work and have deleted the relevant Chapters.

We have a zero-tolerance policy on plagiarism and will show no mercy to those who engage in it. Let this serve as a warning to all!]

’This...’

Claire Sinclair couldn’t quite understand. Lily Yariel was still over there ranting, so why was CloudScript Group acting so spineless?

Curious, she clicked back to Lily Yariel’s Weibo page and saw a new post she had made half a minute ago: I can’t compete with their backing. I’m quitting. I’m done writing!

Seeing this, Claire Sinclair finally understood what was happening.

’Looking at it this way, Lily Yariel must have been ruthlessly abandoned by CloudScript Group, right?’

’This is the fate plagiarists deserve.’

Claire Sinclair gave a cold smile, feeling not a shred of sympathy for this plagiarizing dog.

Whether it was plagiarists or abusers, as long as they broke the law, she would absolutely stand up and speak out for the vulnerable.

...

Since Lily Yariel refused to admit to plagiarism or apologize, Claire Sinclair finally played her trump card: the Viper Law Group.

With the Viper Law Group’s powerful support, the court ultimately found Lily Yariel guilty of plagiarism. The judge ordered her to cease all infringing activities. She was also required to post an apology on Weibo for three days and nights and pay between 100,000 and 500,000 in damages to each of the parties she had plagiarized. If she failed to comply within the specified time, the court would order the website to permanently ban her from the platform and prohibit her from ever working as a writer again.

Overnight, Lily Yariel’s last serialized work was also blocked and taken down. Her reputation was left in tatters, she became a laughingstock to the world, and worst of all, she completely broke the hearts of her readers and fans.

Her once-loyal fans announced they were leaving her fandom and spontaneously started a hashtag—#LilyYarielPlagiarism

[And to think I liked you so much! Turns out you’re a plagiarist with not a single original work to your name. I am so disappointed in you!]

[I’m out. Anyone else joining me?]

[I read Mrs. Quincy’s new book, and it’s really good. Anyone want to become a Mrs. Quincy fan with me?]

[I hope all you plagiarist scumbags spontaneously combust!]

[I honestly feel like I just ate shit. I used to like her so much... how could it all be plagiarized...]
