I Married the President

Chapter 229: Chapter 229: Nothing is Happier Than Being in Love

Henry Hartwell, the journalist: ”Alright, alright, fine. Just hurry up and have him save me.”

Claire Sinclair replied with a simple ”Mhm,” then called Adrian Quincy.

Every time she called him, her heart was in her throat. She was afraid he’d be too busy to answer, or that he’d just hang up on her.

After a few seconds, the call finally connected!

Claire’s heart tightened, and she quickly said, ”Mr. Quincy, hello!”

”Mm, what is it?”

”It’s about Teacher Hartwell. He asked me to have you give him a call. I’m not sure what it’s about... If you’re very busy, you don’t have to. I’ve passed on the message for him, at any rate.”

”Thomas Miles is probably giving him a hard time. As it happens, I’m on my way to the Capitol. I won’t call him; I’ll go see him in person.”

”Oh...” ’The Capitol is so far from here. That means it’ll be a long time before he gets back.’

They had only been apart for a short while, but she was already starting to miss him terribly.

’I never should have agreed not to divorce him. Every time I try to get closer, I can’t stop my heart from loving him even more...’

”Claire, is there anything else?”

”No. It’s just... I was a little upset when I woke up and you weren’t here.”

”I’m sorry. I had to leave in a hurry this morning. I’ll be back with you before noon.”

’Before noon? But it’s only a little after nine now!’

’Oh well. She had taken up so much of his time last night, and had his body all to herself. She should be content and grateful.’

”Then I won’t keep you. See you later.”

With that, Claire decisively hung up.

’Since he won’t be back for a while, maybe I should try to go back to sleep?’

Claire tried to sleep, but she just couldn’t. The moment she closed her eyes, her mind would involuntarily conjure images of their passionate night together.

’Ah, how can a girl be so shameless!’

Claire didn’t dare close her eyes again. She picked up her phone and started scrolling through Weibo.

The affair between her and Lily Yariel had been causing a massive stir recently, and it was still a hot topic on Weibo.

Netizens, in the end, were rational. The majority of them sided with her, while that plagiarist, Lily Yariel, was getting flamed every day. There were even many anti-plagiarism advocates actively working to keep the topic trending, checking in daily to boost its visibility.

As for Lily Yariel herself...

The woman had some nerve. Just last night, she had calmly posted on Weibo: ”After days of having mud slung at me and being chased by rabid dogs, I still feel cute as a button. Thank you to my fans. With you here, I’m not lonely.”

’The plagiarist was as arrogant as ever.’

Claire was fuming, but she was also used to this kind of injustice. She calmly typed out a new post on Weibo: ”Is there anything happier than being in love?”

The moment she posted it, replies from netizens started pouring in.

[Goddess, we’ve been waiting for you for days! You finally posted!]

[One is busy with all the drama, the other is busy being in love. The contrast is a little weird.]

[Is Mrs. Quincy in love?]

[Mrs. Quincy, I love your work! When are you releasing a new book? I want to read it!]

...

’A fan wants me to write something new?’

To be honest, Claire was eager to give it a try.

Writing was a joyful experience, especially when you had readers.

’Maybe I should try writing a proper novel?’

’I’ll write about my story with Adrian Quincy...’

’No matter how things end between us, writing it down will be a way to chronicle all the little moments we’ve shared.’

’But what should I call it?’

Suddenly, inspiration struck. Claire thought of a catchy title—What To Do If I Want To Break Up With You Again Today?

With the title decided, the next step was to find a reliable website to publish the novel on.
