I Married the President

Chapter 201: Chapter 201: The Furious Mr. Quincy

Yara Quincy had always felt she had a clear conscience about her actions. She said defiantly, ”Yes, I said Claire Sinclair bounced between countless jobs for a year after graduation. I also said her ex-boyfriend was a rapist. And I said you and Quinn used to date. Was I wrong about any of it?”

At her words, Claire Sinclair looked at Adrian Quincy in disbelief. ’He dated Quinn?’

But that wasn’t what he’d told her!

Adrian Quincy’s cold eyes narrowed, and an icy chill seemed to radiate from him. Parting his thin lips, he asked, ”When did I ever date her?”

”Everyone at the training camp said so!”

”And if they said that, who started the rumor?”

Yara Quincy lowered her head, looking guilty. ”It was me. But, big brother, you didn’t seem to have a problem with it, did you?”

Adrian Quincy’s voice was heavy. ”If I had known back then, would I have let you spread such nonsense everywhere?”

Yara Quincy was suddenly at a loss for words.

’That’s right,’ she thought. ’With my brother’s personality, how could he have possibly heard the gossip? No one would dare say it to his face.’

’So how does he know about it now?’

”Brother, Claire Sinclair is as weak as a—”

”What did you say?” Adrian Quincy snapped his head up, a monstrous rage blazing in his eyes, threatening to scorch Yara Quincy.

Realizing her slip of the tongue, Yara Quincy quickly corrected herself. ”I mean, she can’t protect you! Marrying her will only hinder your ambitions and be of no help to your career!”

”Yara, apologize to Claire. Now.”

”I...” Yara Quincy glanced at Claire Sinclair, who was thoroughly enjoying the drama. ’Apologize to this idiot? No way in hell.’ Shaking her head, she refused. ”I won’t. I didn’t say anything wrong!”

”Are you sure you won’t apologize?”

”Brother, I’m doing this for your own good!”

”For my own good?”

”Yes!” Yara Quincy said defiantly.

Adrian Quincy slowly rose to his feet and walked over to her. ”I don’t need ’good’ from a moron like you. Apologize to Claire. Now.”

”I will not apologize!”

SLAP—

The noble and elegant Adrian Quincy had actually raised his hand—against his own sister.

The force of the blow was in no way less than the slap Mrs. Quincy had given Claire Sinclair.

Even for Yara Quincy, who had spent several years in the training camp, her face couldn’t withstand the test of this slap. It felt as if her entire cheek was about to be torn off, the pain excruciating.

In disbelief and feeling deeply wronged, Yara Quincy stared at that cold, merciless poker face. ”Brother... you hit me?”

”Apologize to Claire,” Adrian Quincy said in a heavy tone, his voice devoid of all emotion, as cold as his demeanor.

Yara Quincy gritted her teeth and turned to leave.

’She had to go find their mother and have her set things right. Right now, this instant!’

Adrian Quincy’s movements were swift. He shot out a hand, grabbed her by the collar, and pulled her in front of him.

The man’s icy gaze was like a blade, piercing right through her. Yara Quincy’s throbbing head instantly grew muddled, and a sliver of fear inexplicably took root in her heart.

Adrian Quincy narrowed his eyes slightly, his expression blank. ”Let me tell you something. Claire became an official reporter for the Astoria Daily through her own hard work. The very first article she wrote has already sold its copyright for tens of millions, and I have never given her any special privileges.

”If that’s not enough to convince you, I’ll tell you something else. During the hacker war last week, Claire saved the financial assets of twenty million citizens. Her IQ is 180—a full two times higher than yours. What right do you have to look down on her?”

”I... Brother... is what you’re saying true?” Yara Quincy’s mind was reeling from his words; she couldn’t even begin to imagine Claire Sinclair doing any of those things.

’It has to be fake. How could that ridiculously weak woman possibly have an IQ of 180!’
