I Married the President

Chapter 95: Chapter 95: The Vibe of a Strong Woman

Mrs. Hale breathed a sigh of relief and said happily, ”That’s wonderful. My son will be overjoyed when he hears this news.”

Claire Sinclair was confused. ’What does whether I have a boyfriend or not have to do with Little Prince Hale?’

Mrs. Hale affectionately took her hand. ”Claire, I truly enjoyed our talk. When you have a chance to visit us in Country G, you must let me know. I’ll be sure to arrange a wonderful itinerary for you.”

’She’s definitely up to something...’

Claire Sinclair’s intuition told her that Mrs. Hale definitely had an objective. Though it wasn’t malicious, she could sense a certain premeditation, and it had something to do with Little Prince Hale.

’She isn’t trying to set me up with Little Prince Hale, is she?’

She had seen a photo of Little Prince Hale on TV. He was decent-looking enough, but it was mainly his aura—he exuded the air of a Western aristocrat and smiled a lot.

However, that type of man was just too aristocratic, which made him seem unapproachable.

Deep down, Claire Sinclair disliked this type of man, but to maintain appearances, she didn’t dare voice her true feelings. She simply said politely, ”Of course. If I have the opportunity to visit Country G, I will certainly let you know, Mrs. Hale.”

...

「The Main Hall.」

Accompanied by numerous officials, Adrian Quincy officially met with President Helmanro.

Although Phoebe Lockwood was part of the official reception for President Helmanro, she had no real authority. Asking Claire Sinclair to fetch her speech backstage had been nothing more than a deliberate attempt to make things difficult, born from sheer spite.

Phoebe Lockwood was seated in the farthest corner, and even her father was near the edge of the room. From there, they could only watch from a distance as Adrian Quincy shook hands and spoke with President Helmanro.

Phoebe Lockwood didn’t register a single word of what Adrian Quincy was saying to President Helmanro. Her eyes were filled with adoration and infatuation.

’That’s the man of my dreams, my future husband. All my efforts today were for the sole purpose of winning him over.’

She began to fantasize about their future together...

’One day, he would be president of Aridia, a man above all others, and I would be the First Lady whom every woman in the world envied. We would stand as equals, governing the nation together.’

At these thoughts, a thrill of desire washed over Phoebe Lockwood. Her gaze followed his noble figure’s every move, her heart swelling with pride and smug satisfaction.

’Who does Claire Sinclair think she is? She doesn’t even have the right to sit here and gaze up at Young Master Quincy. What makes her think she can compete with me?’

’Heh...’

’A man as perfect as Adrian Quincy can only be matched by a woman as noble and elegant as me! I’m the only one worthy of him!’

Before she knew it, the reception was drawing to a close.

According to the schedule, Claire Sinclair’s private meeting with Mrs. Hale was to conclude ten minutes before the reception in the main hall.

Claire Sinclair personally escorted Mrs. Hale to the door. ”Mrs. Hale,” she said finally, ”it was a great pleasure and an honor to share such an interesting conversation with you. Until next time.”

”Yes, it’s a date. Until next time!” Mrs. Hale reluctantly squeezed the girl’s delicate hand, but as time was limited, she had no choice but to let go.

After watching Mrs. Hale depart, Claire Sinclair stood at the door for a moment before returning to the reception room.

Nancy Lockwood followed her in. Claire Sinclair immediately turned to her and asked nervously, ”Nancy, how did I do? Did I say anything wrong? You were standing behind me the whole time, and I was so nervous I didn’t dare look back. I was terrified I’d say the wrong thing...”

Nancy Lockwood observed her insecure expression and said in a neutral tone, ”You did well. You didn’t make any mistakes, and you sounded quite confident. You’re starting to give off the air of a powerful woman.”
