I Married the President

Chapter 79: Chapter 79: Since When Did Young Master Quincy Have This Taste?

The time for Hermanro’s visit was drawing near, and it wasn’t just the Astoria Daily that was swamped—Quincy Manor was also incredibly busy.

Adrian Quincy had just finished his work for the day. He glanced at the wall clock—it was a little past three in the afternoon. Then he looked at the date. The 24th.

’So it’s already been half a month...’

He instinctively picked up his phone, intending to text her, but he didn’t know what to say.

He set his phone down and looked toward the door. ”Nancy Lockwood.”

Nancy Lockwood immediately pushed the door open and came in. ”Young Master Quincy, what are your instructions?”

Adrian Quincy raised a hand to rub his aching temples and said with his eyes closed, ”Get me something for my headache.”

Nancy Lockwood’s head snapped up. She looked at his handsome face, which betrayed no signs of fatigue. ”Young Master Quincy, you haven’t had a proper rest in half a month. You have to meet President Helmanro tomorrow. You should get some sleep tonight and not stay up late.”

Adrian Quincy waved a dismissive hand, not responding.

Nancy Lockwood sighed. As she was about to turn and leave, Adrian Quincy stopped her. ”Wait. What brand of lipstick did Quinn used to wear?”

A flicker of surprise showed in Nancy Lockwood’s eyes, and she was puzzled by his question. ”Quinn liked DD lipstick. Why do you ask?”

”Go buy a pink one and bring it to me.”

”...” Nancy Lockwood was dumbfounded. ’Since when is Young Master Quincy into this sort of thing?’

Adrian Quincy frowned slightly. ”It’s for Claire.”

”Understood.” Nancy Lockwood finally got it and turned to leave.

The moment she closed the door, Aiden Howkins rushed over. ”Why didn’t you tell Young Master Quincy to get some rest?” he asked urgently.

Nancy Lockwood rolled her eyes at him. ”As if he’d actually listen to me.”

Aiden Howkins sighed helplessly. ”Did Young Master Quincy have a fight with the Young Madam? He hasn’t gone home in half a month, and I haven’t seen him call her, either.”

Nancy Lockwood said, ”Young Master Quincy just asked me to buy some lipstick. He said he’s giving it to Claire Sinclair.”

Hearing this, Aiden Howkins was suddenly overjoyed. ”That sounds like they’re about to make up! Go on, hurry!”

Nancy Lockwood nodded. ”You get the headache medicine for Young Master Quincy, and try to convince him to rest. I’m going out to buy the lipstick now.”

”Okay, let’s split up!” Aiden Howkins went off excitedly to find the medicine, while Nancy Lockwood hurried out to buy the lipstick.

Young Master Quincy hadn’t set foot outside Quincy Manor in half a month. They were dying to get him back into Claire Sinclair’s bed just so he could finally get a decent night’s sleep.

...

「Five in the afternoon, at the Astoria Daily Press.」

The special feature on President Helmanro’s visit was in its final stretch. The entire content department gathered in the conference room one last time for the final coordination meeting.

The meeting was led by Editor-in-Chief Summers, and it was mostly the senior staff who spoke. Neither Claire Sinclair nor Phoebe Lockwood had the seniority to contribute.

Once all the main coordination was complete, the floor was opened to both new and senior employees for any final additions.

Before any of the senior staff could speak, Phoebe Lockwood stood up. ”Editor-in-Chief Summers,” she said with polite arrogance, ”I have something to add. I’ll be accompanying my father to welcome President Helmanro tomorrow, so I won’t be available for department work. I hope you’ll all understand.”

As soon as she finished speaking, all eyes in the room turned to her.

Everyone knew that ordinary citizens didn’t get the chance to meet a foreign president. Even though the Astoria Daily was responsible for the written feature, its reporters wouldn’t have an opportunity to speak with Hermanro directly.

Phoebe Lockwood’s status as a governor’s daughter was truly enviable.

Claire Sinclair, however, was completely unimpressed.

’Meeting the president is a job for cabinet members; it has nothing to do with a lowly intern like me. Besides, I have to be on duty at the office tomorrow anyway.’ She had already come to terms with it.
