Ghost Catching System

In midair, ghosts burst forth from a human body. A white-collar worker plummeted from the sky, smashing into a bloody mess. Like geckos, the ghosts clung to the glass of the skyscraper, exuding an ominous, ghostly aura as they closed in on Chu Hao.

Seeing the person crushed to death below, Chu Hao bellowed angrily, ”Zhang Fei, Sadako, exterminate these trash for me!”

Zhang Fei and Sadako appeared and, without a word, charged into the fray.

Although these ghosts were not weak, they stood no chance against Ghost Generals like Zhang Fei and Sadako and were slaughtered left and right.

Chu Hao punched through the glass and leaped into the building.

He felt a tinge of fear; if it hadn’t been for his good reflexes, that fall from the office building just now would probably have been fatal.

Chu Hao finally realized that these creatures, for the sake of the Emperor’s Yellow Seal, would dare to seek him out in broad daylight and cause havoc in the city, utterly indifferent to the lives of others.

Such ghosts were definitely Fierce Ghosts and would have their souls scattered in the Underworld.

At that moment, Chu Hao’s phone rang. It was Zhao Gousheng calling, the head of the Tiger Soul Department.

Chu Hao answered the phone.

On the other end, Zhao Gousheng’s urgent voice came through, ”Get out of there quick! Anli City is now overrun with ghosts and demons, and countless members of the Evil Cult are heading your way.”

Hearing this, Chu Hao’s face darkened. ”What the hell is going on?” he asked.

Zhao Gousheng replied, ”I don’t know who spilled the beans, but the news that you have the Emperor’s Yellow Seal has leaked. Now, everyone wants to get their hands on the Emperor’s Yellow Seal to find the Emperor’s Treasure.”

”Anyway, you better get out of there now. We can’t let the Emperor’s Yellow Seal fall into the wrong hands. That would lead to disaster.”

Chu Hao cursed and hung up the phone.

He hadn’t anticipated how much of a hot potato the Emperor’s Yellow Seal would be; everyone was going mad for the Emperor’s Treasure.

Strong as Chu Hao was, he was still just one man and felt quite troubled. Had he known it would come to this, he would have entrusted the Emperor’s Yellow Seal to the Seventh District for national safeguarding. That would have been far better than it falling into the hands of those with malicious intent.

BANG!

The hulking figure possessed by the Gutou Gui caught up to him. It leaped high, shattered the glass windows of the office building, and emitted a bestial roar as it charged at Chu Hao.

This was a Semi-Ghost King, a rare sight in the city. Yet, it had boldly appeared in broad daylight for the Emperor’s Yellow Seal, displaying extreme arrogance.

But Chu Hao wouldn’t indulge it. So what if it was a Semi-Ghost King?

He lashed out with his Ghost-whipping Whip. This weapon was feared even by Underworld Deities, so what was a mere Semi-Ghost King?

Indeed, as the whip cracked down, the giant bellowed in pain, pausing in its tracks, its rage intensifying.

Chu Hao swiftly stepped forward, inscribing a Suppression of Evil Talisman on his palm with Inner Strength, and pressed it against the giant’s forehead.

With a BANG, despite the enormous force, he found it utterly useless.

The Gutou Gui sneered. Its body swelled, and the muscles on its chest burst open, revealing a grotesque and bloody ribcage, like the gaping maw of a Glutton, attempting to devour Chu Hao.

Chu Hao was startled; this creature was terrifying! In such a state, the person it possessed had no chance of survival. He quickly dodged away.

Chu Hao’s face turned grim. ”You have thoroughly enraged this Taoist Master,” he said.

He raised his hand, and the Ritian Stick came crashing down.

BANG!

Even the Semi-Ghost King couldn’t withstand the blow; its ribcage cracked, and the Gutou Gui screamed in agony.

The Ritian Stick was no ordinary object; it could fight off evil spirits on its own. Even with the Gutou Gui possessing a body, it could not avoid this strike.

Chu Hao roared, ”Die!”

He leaped up, aimed at the Gutou Gui’s head, and brought the Ritian Stick down hard. With a BANG, the head exploded, and the Gutou Gui died gruesomely on the spot.

”Ding... You have slain a Low-Level Quasi Ghost King and gained three million Experience Points.”

”Ding... Low-Level Quasi Ghost King dropped a Golden Treasure Chest, which has been added to your inventory.”

The soul of the person possessed and cruelly killed had been devoured by the Quasi Ghost King. Once such high-level ghosts possessed someone, basically no survivors were left. Chu Hao felt a surge of anger, then finally heaved a sigh, acknowledging the victim’s predetermined fate.

”Open the Golden Treasure Chest.”

”Ding... Host gains 3,000 Mana Points.”

Chu Hao was surprised; this was the first time he’d gained Mana Points from opening a treasure chest.

With the added 3,000 Mana Points, he now had 26,000 Mana Points.

Zhang Fei and Sadako had also dealt with those Fierce Ghosts, and Sadako had even leveled up.

Chu Hao took a deep breath. At that moment, his phone rang again, displaying an unfamiliar number.

On the other end of the phone was Ju Zheng Qing. She said calmly, ”Chu Hao, come to Kunlun Mountain with me! You can’t fend off these evil spirits.”

Chu Hao was taken aback; she had found his number so quickly! He replied, ”You from Kunlun want the Emperor’s Yellow Seal for the Emperor’s Treasure, right?”

Ju Zheng Qing said, ”The treasure is secondary; I value you more. Come with me, and no one will dare to harm you.”

Chu Hao was somewhat tempted.

Still, Chu Hao replied, ”I’ll consider it.”

Ju Zheng Qing, with a serious tone, responded, ”You don’t have much time. The Southern Ghost King is also on his way. He is said to be the old flame of the Ghost Mother, and since you killed the Ghost Mother, the Southern Ghost King won’t let the matter rest. However, our people from Kunlun are intercepting him. Also! The Immortal Fox from Heng Mountain is coming, as is the Snake King from Snake King Mountain. Be careful.”

With that, Ju Zheng Qing hung up the phone.

Chu Hao was stunned. The Southern Ghost King was coming? And he was the Ghost Mother’s old flame?

What a joke! He had narrowly escaped into the Underworld while being chased by a weakened Ghost Mother. How could he survive even a moment against a real Ghost King?

And there was also the Immortal Fox from Heng Mountain and the Snake King from Snake King Mountain.

He was screwed; each one of them had a greater reputation than the last.

Chu Hao remembered that the Southern Ghost King had previously sent numerous ghosts to snatch the True Word Brush, all of whom had been wiped out. Now, for the Emperor’s Yellow Seal, the Ghost King was coming in person.

How did Ju Zheng Qing know he had killed the Ghost Mother? That had happened in the Underworld!

But now wasn’t the time to overthink things; he had to run for his life! Once these ghosts and demons arrived, his death would be certain.

Feeling vulnerable, Chu Hao muttered, ”This woman... Brother Hao just said he’d consider, and she hangs up so fast.”

He was tempted to call her back but felt that asking for help would be a blow to his dignity as the King of Show-offs.

Chu Hao gritted his teeth and muttered to himself, ”Once I’ve learned the Foundation Building Scripture, I’ll hunt you down one by one for revenge! But a wise man avoids a losing battle. Better to make a subtle getaway for now.”

Just as Chu Hao was about to make a run for it, planning to leave Anli City for a while, the System’s prompt sounded.

System prompt: ”Triggered S-rank special mission: ’Boasting in the Yin and Yang Realm: Boast, Flee, and Survive for Three Days.’ Reward for completion: the unique escape Divine Artifact, the Yin-Yang Translocation Sword.”

System prompt: ”Complete the mission to gain five million Experience Points.”

System prompt: ”Complete the mission to gain one hundred thousand Merit Points.”

System prompt: ”Complete the mission to gain the Yin-Yang Translocation Sword.”

Chu Hao, who had been about to flee, was nearly driven to despair when he heard the System’s message.

Another escape mission. Without sufficient strength, all he could do was run.

However, the rewards for this S-rank mission were truly substantial—definitely top-tier for an S-rank! And there was even a unique reward: the Yin-Yang Translocation Sword!
