Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1053: 1052 proves that your daughter was born with someone else

Bai Yiyi lowered her eyes, her gaze paused on the tips of her shoes for a few seconds before she lifted her head again and looked calmly at Li En. “What’s the deal with Gu Kai’s matter?”

Upon hearing the name Gu Kai, Li En’s complexion subtly darkened, his facial features becoming more rigid. “Yiyi, I’ve looked into it, and that man who bullied you is Gu Kai.”

This answer had crossed Bai Yiyi’s mind just moments earlier.

Yet, hearing Li En say it out loud, her face turned a shade paler.

“Yiyi, even if the teacher had harmed Wen Ran in the past, that bastard Gu Kai has no right to hurt you. While the teacher was here, I promised him that if I found out who that man was, I would never let him off the hook.”

Li En looked at Bai Yiyi’s pale little face and felt a pang in his heart, his rage burning even stronger.

Bullying the woman he cherished most, no matter who that man was, he would not let him go, determined to make him pay. His punch at Gu Kai that afternoon had been a moment of impulsiveness.

Normally, with his temperament, he wouldn’t have done such a thing.

It was only because Bai Yiyi had rejected him, and Gu Kai’s mocking gaze happened to meet Li En’s eye, that he couldn’t restrain himself.

Bai Yiyi pressed her lips tightly together, and after a short silence, she spoke calmly, “Elder Brother Li, what happened that night wasn’t Gu Kai’s fault.”

“How can it not be his fault?” Li En’s face showed his anger, and he spoke resentfully, “If the teacher were here, he surely would deal with him just as he dealt with Gu Yan back in the day.”

“Elder Brother Li, you can’t do that.”

Bai Yiyi’s face changed drastically, her voice losing its calmness and carried a hint of panic.

The more she defended Gu Kai, the stronger the hatred in Li En’s heart grew. A fierce light flashed in his eyes, his voice hardening, “Yiyi, I know you are kind and have always felt that since the teacher hurt Wen Ran in the past, you owe both Wen Ran and Gu Kai.”

“It’s not like that, Elder Brother Li, it really has nothing to do with Gu Kai,” Bai Yiyi hesitated before explaining, “That night, I was betrayed by my boss, fell into a trap, and almost got bullied by an old man. It just so happened that I met Gu Kai.”

“So, he took the opportunity to take advantage of you?”

A vein throbbed on Li En’s forehead. He had gone to great lengths but only found out that Gu Kai was with Bai Yiyi that night.

“He had drunk a lot, was somewhat tipsy, and I… was really uncomfortable. To be precise, it was actually me who seduced him.”

Recalling the events of that night, Bai Yiyi’s face turned even paler. She took a deep breath, “The next morning, I thought Gu Kai was good-looking, so I didn’t take the morning-after pill.”

“Yiyi, how could you…”

Li En looked at Bai Yiyi in disbelief. How could she degrade herself like this.

Having grown tired of watching my mother’s waiting since I was young, I never harbored any hopes for men or marriage, nor did I plan on getting married in this lifetime. If I wanted a child, I would just have one on my own. Gu Kai’s conditions were actually quite in line with my requirements.”

These words had never been spoken by Bai Yiyi to anyone.

Today, if it weren’t for wanting Li En not to resent Gu Kai, she wouldn’t have revealed this.

Li En was stunned by her words, speechless for a long moment.

Seeing him standing there, dumbfounded and in disbelief, she laughed at herself with a lightness akin to clouds and a gentle breeze, “Elder Brother Li, everything I just said is truly what I think, so you don’t have to blame Gu Kai, he didn’t hurt me.”

“But he’s Tongtong’s father, and he should be responsible for both Tongtong and you,” Li En couldn’t accept Bai Yiyi’s thoughts.

He only knew that because of Gu Kai, Yiyi had become an unwed mother, and without a father, Tongtong would become an object of ridicule in the future.

Bai Yiyi frowned, “Elder Brother Li, I don’t need Gu Kai to take responsibility. Tongtong is my daughter, and I am capable of raising her.”

“Yiyi, you’re saying this just to get Gu Kai off the hook, aren’t you? If what you’re saying is true, then why did you decide to leave in the first place, only to stay?”

“I like this city, and my mom wanted to stay as well.”

Bai Yiyi knew Li En would struggle to accept her mindset for a while, but everything she said was the truth. She had seen her mother heartbroken and in tears over men too many times and didn’t want to get entangled in romantic relationships herself.

Even after meeting Wen Ran and hearing about her deep, loving relationship with Mo Xiuchen, she was envious and moved but had no desire to try it herself.

Gu Kai returned home and made himself a cup of coffee.

He had just taken a sip when his phone buzzed in his pocket. He pulled it out and, seeing the caller ID, his eyes darkened as he pressed the answer button with a slight pursing of his lips, “Hello?”

His voice carried a tinge of indifference as it spilled from his thin lips.

“I’m sorry about this afternoon.”

Bai Yiyi’s voice came through the phone.

Her tone was somewhat stiff, and it was clear that the apology was reluctant.

Hearing this, Gu Kai’s handsome eyebrows immediately furrowed, “Sorry, Bai Yiyi, but what exactly is your relationship with Li En that you’re apologizing for him?”

“He’s my friend. He lashed out at you this afternoon because he found out about that night with you. I’ve already explained it to him, so you can rest assured, there won’t be a second time.”

“Friend?”

Gu Kai let out a cold laugh, “A friend who declared his love for you in public and then, after being rejected by you, took his anger out on me. Since you’ve apologized, Bai Yiyi, I’ll let it go for now. However, to prevent your ‘friends’ from randomly taking swings at me again, I need to do something.”

“What is it?”

Bai Yiyi asked guardedly.

Her instincts told her that what Gu Kai was about to suggest wouldn’t be good.

“You just mentioned that Li En knows about that night. I find it strange—haven’t you slept with a lot of men? Did he beat up every guy you’ve slept with?”

There was a strong note of mockery in Gu Kai’s words.

To Bai Yiyi, listening on the other end, anger surged in her heart. She pressed her lips tightly together and said coldly, “That’s none of your business.”

Since she had already said that Tongtong wasn’t his daughter, she couldn’t deny having slept with other men.

She had no choice but to accept Gu Kai’s mockery.

“None of my business?” Gu Kai laughed as if he’d heard the world’s biggest joke, “Are you saying it won’t concern me until Li En stabs me with a knife next time? Bai Yiyi, there’s more than just me among the men you’ve slept with. To prove that my relationship with you was only for that one night, I’ve decided to do a DNA test.”

“What DNA test?”

Bai Yiyi feigned ignorance.

“To prove that your daughter was fathered by someone else, and that she has nothing to do with me, so that madman won’t come after me again.”

Gu Kai’s voice hardened from its previous mockery to a chilling and domineering tone, and even through the phone, Bai Yiyi’s heart skipped a beat.

She gripped the phone tighter, refusing his suggestion, “Impossible, I’ve already explained everything and I guarantee Li En won’t do anything to you again.”
