Chapter 2557: Chapter 2558: Psychological Issues

When they started talking inside the room, Empress Yazi outside heard it too. At first, she was startled, with a hint of panic in her eyes, but soon switched to a proud expression.

”Master Bai is not a Fusang person, naturally shouldn’t interfere too much,” she said loudly.

Bai Ruozhu had already turned his head and left the room, unable to help but sneer, ”The Empress seems to have forgotten how your son stayed alive.”

This person is simply ungrateful.

”You saved Cilang, but we also rewarded you a lot. The consultation fee wasn’t even that high. You should be satisfied, shouldn’t you? But look at you, even Cilang’s health issues weren’t discovered. I really wonder if your medical skills are as great as you claim,” Empress Yazi said without any weakness.

The Emperor had already followed out and shouted angrily, ”Yazi, enough! No one could solve Cilang’s poisoning. If it weren’t for Master Bai and his people, we would have lost a son!”

Yazi’s expression changed, but then she suddenly appeared to have an epiphany, ”I heard only the person who poisons knows how to cure it. Why was Cilang fine, but suddenly poisoned once they arrived in Fusang? Aren’t they trying to overthrow our Fusang royal family?”

”Do you have paranoia? Don’t think that just because you are the Empress, I won’t dare to do anything to you. Speaking such things is to destroy the diplomatic ties between our countries, do you insist on Fusang being an enemy of our Danliang?” Bai Ruozhu was truly enraged this time; this Empress Yazi was really too much.

The Emperor was also very angry, ”Shut up. Someone, take Empress Yazi back to the bedchamber, make her face the wall and reflect for a month. Without my permission, she mustn’t leave the bedchamber even a step!”

The palace maids hurriedly went to pull Empress Yazi, but she struggled desperately, even reaching out to scratch the nearby palace maid, showing none of the demeanor of an empress, resembling a shrew instead.

Bai Ruozhu watched in astonishment. Isn’t Empress Yazi also part of the imperial family, wasn’t she a princess before? How come she doesn’t have any princess-like composure, completely disgracing the royal family’s face?

The Emperor’s face was also very unpleasant. He had always been good-tempered, but this time he was furious.

”Knock her out and take her back, then punish her with copying scriptures a hundred times!” he shouted harshly.

This time the palace maids didn’t dare to spare any face. Dagu directly circled to the back and struck Empress Yazi behind her neck with a hand chop, and the world finally quieted down. The palace maids supported the limp Empress Yazi and took her away.

Just when the others hadn’t gone far, Princess Ya’an and Empress Shangzi hurriedly arrived in panic.

The two saw Empress Yazi being supported by palace maids and were shocked, seemingly not as impulsive as Empress Yazi.

”Father, my mother esteemed is...” Princess Ya’an quickly paid her respects and cautiously asked.

”I had her knocked out. Your mother was loudly causing a scandal, saying things about the Second Prince, and blaming Master Bai unjustly. She even fabricated things about Master Bai. I sent her back for reflection. If you have time, persuade her to change her bad temper,” the Emperor said very wearily, letting out a heavy sigh.

Bai Ruozhu thought that if he were the Emperor, he would have died of exhaustion long ago, for marrying such a piece of work.

Princess Ya’an quickly looked at Bai Ruozhu and hastily bowed to him, ”Master Bai, my mother’s temperament is impatient. I apologize on her behalf. Please do not take her words to heart. When she calms down, I will make sure she apologizes to you.”

Her gaze towards Bai Ruozhu was very sincere, which helped calm Bai Ruozhu’s anger.

”You need not feel guilty, this matter has nothing to do with you,” Bai Ruozhu said.

Unexpectedly, Princess Ya’an started crying, ”It’s my fault, I shouldn’t have hastily told my mother’s words yesterday, otherwise there wouldn’t be such a big mess.”

Empress Shangzi sighed beside them. Yazi’s temper was really not a day or two.

”This is a matter of the Fusang royal family’s household, I shouldn’t say much, so I’ll take my leave,” Bai Ruozhu said bows and wanted to leave.

The Emperor hurriedly said, ”Master Bai, is Cilang’s illness really difficult to treat?”

As soon as the Second Prince was mentioned, Bai Ruozhu was a bit angry again. It was clearly a baseless issue, if it wasn’t him making trouble, there wouldn’t be these troubles.

”The Second Prince has no physical issues, a reliable doctor checking would show that but if the issue is mental, it’s beyond my ability to treat,” Bai Ruozhu said bluntly.

”Mental issues?” Empress Shangzi asked curiously.

Bai Ruozhu sneered slightly, ”Man’s issues, physically no problem means physiologically normal, but if it still doesn’t work, it’s psychological repulsion, or there are other psychological problems. As to the specifics, you’d have to ask the Second Prince himself.”

She spoke so straightforwardly, yet these people didn’t show a hint of embarrassment, the Fusang royal family’s outlook truly refreshed her perception.

Seeing the three in a daze, Bai Ruozhu left on his own.

The Emperor and the two finally reacted, and had to go seek the Second Prince.

The Second Prince felt this morning that the attendants were looking at him with very strange eyes. Upon hearing the Emperor’s question, he realized his ”impotence” had spread through the palace.

For a moment he was both ashamed and annoyed, angrily saying, ”I have no problem, the meaning I told Ya’an was that now my body is weak, it takes two or three years to recuperate, only then to be ready to marry.”

Princess Ya’an’s eyes widened, ”You, you didn’t mean that?”

The Second Prince regretted again, he shouldn’t have acted out yesterday, explaining clearly wouldn’t have caused this trouble.

”I’m perfectly fine, can’t you let go of this shame for me!” He almost shouted in anger.

Fortunately, Empress Shangzi understood his embarrassment, hurriedly pulling Ya’an and the Emperor, signaling them to stop talking.

After the three left the Second Prince’s palace, they all breathed a sigh of relief, but soon the Emperor sighed heavily, ”Now rumors are everywhere in the palace, and many ministers already know, even came to me this morning, suggesting changing the heir, how can this be explained now.”

The more you try to explain such things, the harder it is to clarify. You say there’s no problem, outsiders might think the Emperor favors the Second Prince, insisting on covering for him.

The best solution naturally is for the Second Prince to marry and have children, but he hasn’t fully recovered yet, unsuitable for marriage, even worse for intimacy with a woman. If he had a child, the child might be weak or die at birth.

The Emperor thinking of this couldn’t help but curse Empress Yazi again.

Bai Ruozhu returned to the posthouse, angrily telling of the situation encountered in the Imperial Palace, then said, ”Anyway, we must never get involved in the Second Prince’s matters again. Today I’ll just consider it being bitten by a dog.”

”That Empress Yazi is truly sick, she really should be properly dealt with,” Fo Lanying was grinding her teeth.

Bai Ruozhu waved his hand, ”Forget it, don’t bother with her, just watch how this fool dies in the end.”
