Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2556: Chapter 2557: The Mother Who Harms Her Son

The second prince looked a little embarrassed, as if his sister had misunderstood, but he wasn’t in a good mood at the moment and didn’t want to explain.

Princess Ya’an left with a face full of worry. The second prince opened his mouth, wanting to call out to her to explain the situation, but in the end, he closed his mouth.

This kind of thing is difficult to explain. Explaining it would be too awkward, and he didn’t really want to explain it. She had made him this angry, she deserved to be anxious about it.

Furthermore, he didn’t want to get married.

Once Princess Ya’an was far enough away, Bai Ruozhu stepped out from the side and then walked into the Main Hall.

”You look pretty good, seems like you’re recovering well.” Bai Ruozhu said with a smile.

The second prince was taken aback for a moment and asked, ”When did you get here?”

”Just now.” Bai Ruozhu replied.

”Then you didn’t see Ya’an?” The second prince glanced outside, but Princess Ya’an was nowhere to be seen.

”I went to see His Majesty first, probably went in a different direction, so I didn’t run into the princess.” Bai Ruozhu didn’t want to say that she had witnessed the awkward conversation between them, it was better not to know.

”Oh, I see.”

The second prince responded casually, seeming somewhat absent-minded. Bai Ruozhu didn’t pay attention to his distraction, took a cloth to cushion, and began to check his pulse.

”You’re recovering quite well, just need to be careful not to be poisoned or seriously injured again, since your body hasn’t fully recovered.” Bai Ruozhu said.

The second prince came back to his senses, ”Alright, I’ll be careful. I never want to go through that kind of torment again, you have no idea how painful it was when I was still somewhat conscious, knowing that I was about to be buried, yet unable to die.”

Meanwhile, in Empress Yazi’s bedchamber, Princess Ya’an shared the second prince’s words with a worried expression, ”Mother, do you think brother’s condition is serious? Should we call an old doctor to take a good look at him? I’m afraid that because Master Bai is a woman, he might find it inconvenient to discuss matters with her.”

Empress Yazi jumped up instantly, ”Let’s go right now!”

Empress Yazi was impulsive, never very composed despite her age. Upon hearing this, she rushed out of the bedchamber like a gust of wind, promptly found an Imperial Doctor, and brought him to the second prince’s palace.

Bai Ruozhu watched as Empress Yazi hurriedly burst in and immediately felt that the second prince was about to shoot himself in the foot.

”Cilang, you said your health isn’t good enough to marry, what’s going on? If it’s inconvenient to tell Master Bai, have the Imperial Doctor take a look, you can’t afford any delays!” Empress Yazi exclaimed excitedly, and the second prince’s face suddenly turned red to his neck.

Bai Ruozhu looked awkwardly at the second prince, his mother really was something, couldn’t she have waited until she, an outsider, was gone before asking?

And why are you shouting so loudly, are you afraid others can’t tell that your son is impotent?

”Mother, no rush, Master Bai is still instructing me on health precautions, let’s talk about this later.” After a long while, the second prince finally regathered himself and made a half-hearted excuse.

But Empress Yazi, being impetuous, refused to give up, ”We can’t delay this, even if Master Bai can’t cure it, the Imperial Doctor surely can. What if delaying makes things worse?”

Bai Ruozhu looked inexplicably at Empress Yazi, wondering if this old woman had something against her. What did she mean by saying she couldn’t treat it? When had she ever said she couldn’t?

And what did she mean by ”what if delaying makes things worse,” as if it was her lack of ability delaying the second prince’s condition?

Had it not been for the business she had with the Emperor, Bai Ruozhu really wanted to throw in the towel and leave. What kind of patient family member was this?

”Mother, you’re overthinking it, we can deal with this later.” The second prince had his brows tightly furrowed.

Bai Ruozhu got up and saluted, ”Since there’s nothing for me to do, I’ll take my leave first.”

The second prince was a little anxious when he heard that, ”Master Bai, you...”

He wanted Bai Ruozhu to wait, but then he thought, what was there to say to Bai Ruozhu if she stayed? But he also knew his mother’s actions were likely offending someone.

”Your health has improved a lot, you won’t need me running back and forth anymore.” Bai Ruozhu smiled, turned to leave, not even saluting to Empress Yazi.

Saluting was to show respect, but when the other party was targeting you, not giving you any face, why give her any face?

Empress Yazi was fully focused on her son’s impotence now, not even noticing Bai Ruozhu’s attitude. However, Princess Ya’an worriedly glanced at Bai Ruozhu.

”Alright, now there are no outsiders, quickly tell the Imperial Doctor about your discomfort.” Empress Yazi said.

The second prince felt his reputation was completely ruined, and angrily said, ”I’m really fine, you all should go, I need to rest.”

”Cilang, don’t be like this, if you’re sick, see a doctor, there’s nothing to be embarrassed about.” Empress Yazi urged.

The second prince felt so powerless, he really had shot himself in the foot.

Bai Ruozhu returned to the posthouse and put the matter out of her mind, thinking the second prince would explain everything clearly.

Unexpectedly, the next day, the Emperor sent Otani over, hastily summoning her to the palace.

She thought it was about the fresh soup powder, but the Emperor got straight to the point, ”Master Bai, yesterday the second prince said in the palace that he’s impotent?”

Bai Ruozhu broke out in a cold sweat, ”No way? I didn’t hear anything like that.”

The Emperor sighed, ”It’s spread throughout the palace, today several ministers hinted during the Court Assembly that I should reconsider the heir to the throne.”

”Empress Yazi spread this?” Bai Ruozhu was already stunned, what kind of situation was this? The legendary teammate that screws you over?

”I don’t know how it leaked, I’ve already had yesterday’s Imperial Doctor detained.” The Emperor’s face didn’t look good, he rubbed his temples in frustration.

Just then, shouts came from outside the study room: ”I wish to see His Majesty, it must be that Bai Ruozhu from Zhongyuan who spread it, I specifically instructed the Imperial Doctor, there’s no way he would dare speak recklessly, it must be that woman from Zhongyuan!”

In an instant, the Emperor’s face darkened even more, he quickly glanced at Bai Ruozhu, awkwardly saying, ”Master Bai, please don’t take it to heart, Empress Yazi is rather impulsive.”

Bai Ruozhu sneered, ”She was just like that the other day, loudly running to ask the second prince if there was something wrong, all her words implying that I had delayed the second prince’s condition. Unless you didn’t know, you’d think she had a personal feud with me. There are no secrets in the palace as is, especially when she shouts and screams like that, quite the mother who does nothing but hinder her son.”

She was in a bad mood and didn’t want to show mercy with her words to anyone. After all, she had no obligation to treat the second prince; if it weren’t for helping Master Puru, she wouldn’t have bothered with the drama. But she saved the second prince’s life, and even helped fend off several attacks for him, and yet his mother finds fault with her?

”Master Bai, please don’t be angry, I’ll have Yazi apologize to you.” The Emperor said, ashamed.

Bai Ruozhu flicked her sleeve, ”No need for an apology, we’re not going to interfere in Fusang’s matters, and we absolutely won’t meddle again in the future either.”
