Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2426: Chapter 2427: Composed in the Face of Crisis

Pu Ru was already almost out of breath, yet he still stretched out his burned black hand, struggling to say, ”The sutras... save the sutras...”

Bai Ruozhu felt a pang of compassion and hurriedly said, ”First, save your life. We can ask for the sutras from Danliang Country, but if you’re gone, everything is lost!”

Pu Ru seemed to have understood, tears welling up in his eyes as he lowered his hand.

Bai Ruozhu quickly fed him a few pills and swiftly administered him with needles. Having been burned this badly and with a leg broken by a fall, his condition was extremely dangerous.

Gao Zhou and the others soon arrived; it was easier for him as he helped set Pu Ru’s broken leg bone. However, upon seeing Pu Ru’s burns, he frowned tightly.

Soon, other monks were also carried out, and doctors from Fusang hurried over.

Someone saw Bai Ruozhu applying needles to Pu Ru and screamed in fright, babbling something in Fusang Language, but unfortunately, Bai Ruozhu and the others couldn’t understand a word.

Jiang Yichun was beside him, assisting with medicine for less severe burns, constantly scanning the surroundings with Yong Guang, fearful that someone might disturb Bai Ruozhu.

”We’re running out of burn medicine, send someone to boil more herbs immediately!” Bai Ruozhu said briskly.

Mo Beishan, unable to provide medical assistance, could only help with the rescue, urgently saying, ”How do we communicate with them when they don’t understand our language?”

Fortunately, Sa Tian rushed over from the front yard, panicked, to help translate for Bai Ruozhu and the others. He seemed terrified by the scene, making several mistakes, nearly unable to speak properly.

After translating, he knelt in front of Pu Ru with a thud, sobbing bitterly.

”Abbot, Abbot, you must hold on!” Sa Tian cried out.

Bai Ruozhu frowned, his irritation amplified, ”We are shorthanded right now, stop crying. Send someone to bring my maidservants Yizi and Teng Ya to help, continue translating without getting distracted.”

Bai Ruozhu exuded an aura that left no room for refusal, a demeanor Sa Tian had only seen in those in high positions, compelling him to regain his composure under Bai Ruozhu’s compelling presence.

”Organize soldiers to continue battling the fire, ensure the flames don’t spread again, and remind them to stay safe.”

Bai Ruozhu’s expression remained unchanged, his hands swiftly administering needles, continuing, ”Organize these doctors to treat burn victims, categorize their injuries into mild, moderate, and severe. Move the severely wounded here and watch for anyone who has inhaled smoke causing lung damage. If they keep coughing, bring them here too.”

Sa Tian listened in stunned silence, then relayed it to the doctors nearby.

”Send someone to fetch a large quantity of burn medicine, start using it on burn victims first,” Bai Ruozhu instructed again.

Sa Tian quickly translated to the surrounding doctors and the general sent by the Mu Residence, but soon some showed displeasure on their faces.

”Why should we listen to a woman?” said the leading samurai in heavily accented Chinese, his tone sarcastic.

Bai Ruozhu looked at him, unwavering, ”Because I am the leader of the Zhongyuan Medical Alliance!”

Sa Tian looked at Bai Ruozhu in shock, genuinely unaware of Bai Ruozhu’s great reputation.

It took him a while to finally translate this, leaving others just as surprised, yet still, some doubted Bai Ruozhu’s words.

Noticing their expressions, Bai Ruozhu said somewhat angrily, ”Is it more important to question me or to save lives? If you doubt my medical skills, who dares step forward and say they can cure Master Puru?”

After Sa Tian translated, none of the doctors dared to respond upon seeing Pu Ru’s condition, some even shook their heads, sighing.

In truth, Bai Ruozhu hadn’t been very confident in curing Master Puru either, but she had secretly brought some Hot Spring Water from her Space to help cleanse Master Puru’s wounds, unexpectedly improving his burn condition.

It appeared her Hot Spring Water was not only effective for detoxification but also excellent for treating burns.

However, upon second application, the improvement ceased, indicating it wouldn’t completely heal instantly and needed gradual treatment.

Nonetheless, it was enough to save Pu Ru’s life.

Out of respect for Pu Ru and Master Pudeng’s shared lineage, Bai Ruozhu was determined to do her utmost to save him, repaying Master Pudeng’s kindness.

Nearby, a doctor pointed at Bai Ruozhu, shouting again. Bai Ruozhu, frowning and slightly impatient, was about to retort when Sa Tian translated, ”He asks if you’re using Huan Tuo Needlework?”

”Ancient Medical Acupuncture,” Bai Ruozhu replied casually. The acupuncture her Grandpa taught her in a previous life was said to be ancestral, passed on to her to preserve the lineage.

As for whether it was actually Huan Tuo Needlework, she didn’t know. Her Grandpa merely said it was Needlework passed down through ancient medical skills.

After Sa Tian translated, several Fusang doctors exclaimed in astonishment, yet some still distrusted Bai Ruozhu, keeping a close watch on her actions, neglecting other patients.

Bai Ruozhu felt a bit impatient but couldn’t be bothered with them, quickly continuing to administer needles to Master Puru.

Soon, another severely injured monk was brought in, coughing severely, almost choking from inhaling too much smoke.

Bai Ruozhu quickly fed him a green pill, then tore open his clothes and began applying needles to his chest.

Again, some expressed shock, even showing disdain.

But soon, the coughing patient’s condition eased, and his previously nearly purple face began to regain a normal color.

Everyone was so busy, about two hours later, the fire was finally completely extinguished. However, Zhaoti Temple not only lost the Scripture Pavilion but also some nearby Side Rooms were burned. The fire had started bizarrely, and its spread was uncommonly rapid.

Bai Ruozhu had no time to ponder the conspiracy here, solely focused on saving lives.

These monks were innocent, connected in lineage to Xinchan Temple; she only wished to do her best to help them.

Jiang Yichun wasn’t adept at treating burns, so he teamed up with Mo Beishan to examine the area, searching for any clues.

The sky was overcast with winds rising, rain seemed about to fall.

Bai Ruozhu looked up at the sky, wiped the sweat from her forehead with her arm, and said to Sa Tian, ”Quickly arrange rooms, ensure the injured are settled and sheltered from the rain.”

Sa Tian acknowledged and quickly found monks in the temple to discuss it. However, the monks seemed lost, either crying beside Pu Ru or sitting in a daze, infuriating Sa Tian to the point of stomping his feet.

He turned to seek Bai Ruozhu, but upon seeing the sweat beads on her forehead, his steps faltered.

He couldn’t help but recall Madam Bai Ruozhu’s composed demeanor in the crisis, her orderly arrangements, causing his face to burn with shame.

As a dignified man, could he not handle even this small task without disturbing her?

With this thought, Sa Tian steadied his emotions and said to a monk, ”I’m quite familiar with the temple’s layout; listen to my arrangements now!”
