Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2029: Chapter 2028: Dog Eat Dog

As for that troublemaker from the Li Family, Bai Ruozhu felt not the least bit sympathetic for her plight.

”What about that round-faced Miss?” Bai Ruozhu asked.

”She went missing, and her mother was so distressed that she fell ill and passed away a few days ago,” Jianqi’s voice dropped a notch. If the girl’s mother had been able to hold on a bit longer, she might have seen her lost daughter and could have died in peace.

Bai Ruozhu also felt somewhat regretful and listened as Jianqi continued to speak.

”Her name is Sun Dudu, she lived in the Village outside the City. She came to the market with her mother, and they sold some embroideries before leaving. On the way back, her mother realized she had counted the money wrong and told her to wait there while she went back to find the embroidery shop owner. When she returned, Sun Dudu was gone.” Jianqi continued.

”No wonder her mother couldn’t rest easy. She should have taken her daughter back with her,” Bai Ruozhu said.

Jianqi shook his head, ”Yang Laosan grew bolder later on. Even if Sun Dudu’s mother had been with her, Yang Laosan and his men would have knocked out the woman and taken Sun Dudu away. Her family called many villagers to the City to search for her and even reported it to the County Government Office, but she was hidden in such an underground place, and with Ma Quanli protecting them, how could they find her?”

”Ma Quanli ought to be beheaded; it’s a pity he’s an officer and can’t be executed on the spot. He can only be sent back to Beiyu City and let the Imperial Court decide.” Bai Ruozhu gritted her teeth. ”We can only watch Zheng Chunrong and Yang Laosan be beheaded now.”

Jianqi suddenly laughed briefly, and then he lowered his head and said, ”Death would be too easy for them. These past few days, they’ve suffered endless torment in the prison; they truly wish for the relief of death.”

He roughly explained that the warden had lost a sister years ago. Although it had nothing to do with Zheng Chunrong and them, why did they have to cross paths?

The warden couldn’t find the people who kidnapped his sister, so he vented his anger on Zheng Chunrong and Yang Laosan.

Additionally, some Prison Guards knew the families of the victims and despised Zheng Chunrong and Yang Laosan. These days, they’ve privately inflicted considerable punishment on them.

...

While Bai Ruozhu said these things, various torture methods continued being enacted in the jail.

Danliang Country doesn’t allow private use of torture devices, and ordinarily, the prison doesn’t have these tormenting items. But since Zheng Chunrong and Yang Laosan harmed so many families, the guards feel it’s only right to torment them in return for all those abducted women.

Ma Quanli was shaking in horror from the screams, crouching in a corner of the Prison Cell, trying to make himself as small as possible, reducing his presence. If someone were to see him now, they’d think there was a meatball there.

Across the cell, Zheng Chunrong couldn’t stand the torture any longer, trying to dodge the needles prickling her and tearing at her clothes, which soon fell half off, revealing the peony flower tattoo on half her body.

The peony was originally graceful and elegant, yet it bore an alluring and provocative charm on her. Seeing the Prison Guards staring blankly, she secretly sighed with relief, aware of the attraction her skin held for men.

”Dear Sirs, you must be tired; let me, this young lady, serve you,” she said, reaching out to massage a guard’s shoulder, though her body ached severely, she forced herself to be seductive.

The guard shivered, his body growing hot, eyes filled with a terrifying gleam.

Yang Laosan watched as Zheng Chunrong leaned against the guard and shamelessly groped him, turning green with rage.

”Chunrong, enough! I’m still here!” he shouted angrily.

Zheng Chunrong glared at him fiercely, ”Shut up! Since when did I need your opinion to conduct myself? If you’re capable, stop me from suffering—can you shield me from disaster?”

Yang Laosan closed his eyes in agony. For her, he had betrayed his own master, captured countless respectable women, and committed heinous crimes. Now, they were about to be beheaded, yet she thought only of her own comfort, not caring about his feelings. Did she ever truly care about him?

”Tell me honestly, did you ever sincerely care for me, or have you always been using me?” he suddenly asked loudly.

Zheng Chunrong let out a cold laugh, ”Sincerely? That sincerity was fed to the dogs long ago. Haven’t you used me just like I’ve used you?”

Yang Laosan collapsed to the floor, his heart sinking completely. She actually thought he used her—but for what reason?

As she spoke, her body and hands continued moving, captivating the attention of several guards.

”Cough, cough!” A sudden cough echoed, and the warden glared over, ”Ma Quanli is still over there, and you’re slacking off? Women aren’t hard to find, why risk losing your lives over this?”

The guards shivered, realizing they had forgotten about the cautionary tale of Ma Quanli locked up next door—did they want to end up in prison too?

The guard being touched by Zheng Chunrong snapped out of it, kicking her away, ”Get lost! Why would I bother with this trash everyone has ridden—I’m disgusted!”

Several other guards silently cursed themselves for being seduced and stopped staring at the woman with half peony, half snow-white skin.

Zheng Chunrong fell to the ground, and nearby Yang Laosan let out a laugh that sounded like crying, tears streaming down his face, ”Serves you right! They were right—everyone’s trash, and I was blind to choose you!”

Zheng Chunrong suddenly crawled up, rushed over, and slapped Yang Laosan hard, ”Stop the madness, shut your damn mouth!”

Unexpectedly, the usually obedient Yang Laosan slapped her back with a reflex, knocking her into a corner of the cell and fervently saying, ”Bitch, you dare hit me?”

The guards watched their conflict unfold, sitting on the sidelines amusedly enjoying the show.

Yang Laosan completely lost hope in Zheng Chunrong, his love turning into resentment, and he cruelly tormented her throughout the night. Her cries for mercy echoed continuously, and even when she fainted, he pressed her acupoints so she’d awaken and he could continue his abuse.

The warden ordered someone to monitor, ensuring neither of them died in the cell, and allowed them to continue their actions.

The next day, the two were taken to the execution ground. Zheng Chunrong was too weak to walk, and the previous night’s spectacle spread among the guards, quickly reaching Bai Ruozhu’s ears.

”Serves her right!” Bai Ruozhu laughed, ”She shouldn’t die so easily; Yang Laosan should torment her every day for ten days to half a month, letting her taste the punishment those abducted women suffered.”

Bai Zepei chuckled beside her, ”You’re still too soft-hearted; how could ten days to half a month be enough? If not for fear something might happen during our departure, I’d wish for her to suffer for half a year instead.”

Bai Ruozhu shrunk her neck, realizing she must not offend her second brother.
