Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2010: Chapter 2009: Si Yihuan Who Hasn’t Awakened to Love

At that time, Si Yihuan also agreed, thinking that there was a lot of good food at the residence. How could one eat well while traveling and camping outside?

But soon she became restless again. As for why, she couldn’t put her finger on it, just felt a stuffiness in her chest and her heart in disarray.

For this reason, she even made a trip back to her parents’ home, afraid that she might be ill. Of course, it wasn’t that she didn’t want to ask Bai Ruozhu for help, but she vaguely felt it wasn’t an illness and feared that if Bai Ruozhu pursued the question, she wouldn’t know how to respond.

The Si Family’s doctor checked her out, and indeed her health was fine. Madam Si also noticed her daughter’s rosy complexion and radiant eyebrows, clearly indicating she was living well.

After asking a few questions, she finally understood why her daughter had returned and couldn’t help but laugh.

She poked Si Yihuan’s head with her finger and said, ”You’re already married, how can you still be so clueless!”

Si Yihuan pouted, ”How am I clueless?”

”You’re anxious because you’re reluctant to part with your husband, afraid of being separated for too long. It’s hard to believe you don’t even know. Oh, how should I put this?” Madam Si said and laughed again.

Si Yihuan was stunned. Was she truly unwilling to part with Bai Zepei? Wasn’t she more attached to the delicious food?

However, soon Bai Zepei’s figure emerged in her mind, along with their nightly intimacy, and her cheeks slowly turned red.

In fact, Bai Zepei was very self-controlled; their intimate encounters weren’t frequent, but each time he was very careful and considerate of her feelings. She had never thought about whether she liked Bai Zepei, nor whether Bai Zepei liked her. As her mother said, she hadn’t figured it out yet.

Yet she always felt that marrying such a man was incredibly fortunate. How many women in the world were as happy as she was?

Upon returning to Bai Residence, Si Yihuan told Bai Zepei she wanted to accompany him on the journey south.

”Why the sudden change of heart? The journey is too hard,” Bai Zepei said.

”I...I want to go help Ruozhu and take care of the child.” Si Yihuan blushed and quickly found an excuse.

”Ruozhu has maids and a nanny more experienced with children than you,” Bai Zepei said.

Upon hearing this, Si Yihuan pouted. Was he doing it on purpose?

”I’ll learn in advance, so I can take care of children in the future.” Si Yihuan said through gritted teeth, her face reddening.

”You can learn at home; you don’t need to go out and work so hard,” Bai Zepei declined once more.

Si Yihuan was nearly jumping in anxiety, ”I...I want to go out and taste all the delicious food in the world, is that okay?”

This time, Bai Zepei couldn’t help but burst into laughter. His wife was truly interesting, especially when it came to food.

”When you’re on the road, you have to eat dried food. Can you handle that?” Bai Zepei asked, without the firm opposition this time.

”Anyway, when we reach a town, there will be local specialties. Don’t you scholars say it’s better to travel thousands of miles than read thousands of books? If I can go out and explore, it will be nice to taste the local cuisine,” she said, pouting, and tugged at his sleeve with her little hand, ”It’s a rare opportunity to travel, please take me along.”

She didn’t notice the hint of coquettishness in her voice, and Bai Zepei couldn’t help but smile again, then nodded in agreement.

”That’s great!” Si Yihuan jumped up in excitement, revealing Bai Zepei’s neck, and swiftly kissed his lips.

With a boom, both of them were momentarily stunned, and their bodies involuntarily trembled before quickly stepping back.

Si Yihuan blushed all the way to her neck. What had she just done? Ruozhu hinted that she should be more proactive with her second brother, but she shouldn’t be so forward!

Wuu wuu wuu, Si Yihuan wanted to find a hole to hide in. Had she been out of her mind just now?

In fact, though they had been intimate, they had never kissed before; this kiss was practically their first.

”I’ll go arrange dinner,” Si Yihuan said, tossed the words down, and ran off.

Bai Zepei watched her back, touched his burning lips, and felt a part of his heart soften slowly.

His wife was wonderful, and he should strive to try to love her fully and wholeheartedly, putting any extraneous thoughts aside.

That night, after the lights were out, Bai Zepei carefully groped towards Si Yihuan, who was so nervous she stayed still like a piece of wood, her breath just a bit faster.

He couldn’t help but want to laugh; his little wife was quite interesting, always able to make him smile, and he wasn’t the type who often smiled.

He suddenly thought of that afternoon’s lip contact, and his heart warmed up, so he slowly reached her face and gently kissed her cherry lips.

Si Yihuan was dumbfounded, but soon their lips and teeth entwined, she gradually relaxed.

Neither was skilled in kissing, but their gentle movements made the kiss tender and lingering...

After that, the relationship between the two changed slightly, and Si Yihuan even dared to joke with him, but most of the time, she happily sampled the delicacies along the way, not clinging to him, so he had no discomfort at all.

After that stolen kiss, Si Yihuan found Bai Zepei blushing, his shy demeanor was very amusing. So she took every opportunity to sneak up on him, fully transforming into a rogue in private.

Bai Ruozhu ate a drunken crab and remarked, ”We came late; if it was last month, this crab would taste even better.”

”No way, weren’t you treating the plague in Linchuan City at the time?” Si Yihuan said casually, continuing to eat.

”Hey, don’t eat too much, crabs are cold, be careful or your stomach might hurt,” Bai Ruozhu warned.

”Oh, alright.” Although Si Yihuan was a foodie, she was a temperate one, avoiding overeating.

At this moment, a man dressed as a scholar suddenly approached, ”Excuse me, is this lady Bai Ruozhu, Lord Bai?”

Bai Ruozhu glanced at the man cautiously, but didn’t recognize him.

The man quickly said, ”My name is Tong Zhengye, a member of the same cohort as Bai Bangyan. During the Eight Academy Competition, I had the honor of witnessing Bai Bangyan’s prowess. A few days ago, my father went on a business trip, and when he passed through Linchuan City, the plague erupted. He was trapped inside, worrying every day. A few days ago when he returned home, he told us how it was thanks to Chief Doctor Bai addressing the issues in Linchuan City that he was able to return safely.”

Bai Ruozhu hadn’t expected the events in Linchuan City to spread to Jiangnan, and quickly realized that Si Yihuan’s earlier phrase ”weren’t you treating the plague in Linchuan City?” must have been overheard by this Tong Zhengye.

”Lord Bai, please accept my bow of gratitude on behalf of my father!” Tong Zhengye said, bowing solemnly, instantly attracting the attention of many in the restaurant.

People nearby whispered, ”See, the young master of the Tong family is bowing to those two ladies, it’s truly rare to see!”
