Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2019: Chapter 2018: Not for Sale

On the official road, a caravan was proceeding in an orderly manner, not far away in the woods, a black panther and a monkey were running joyously.

The monkey squinted at the black rabbit on the back of the black panther, chirped a few times, and jumped up, trying to leap onto the panther’s back as well.

Xiaohei tilted its body to the side, causing Xiaomao to pounce into thin air and fall heavily to the ground.

It got up, pointed at Xiaohei, and chirped furiously, looking especially angry, like a provoked Yizi.

Xiaohei turned its proud head, snorted through its nose, ignored Xiaomao, and continued walking forward.

Was its back a place for everyone to sit?

The black rabbit squatted steadily, munching on a carrot, as if these things had nothing to do with it.

Almost noon, Xiaohei and the others returned, with Xiaohei carrying a wild deer in its mouth, placing its prey in front of Bai Ruozhu.

Xiaomao chirped loudly nearby to attract attention, carrying a big fish with one hand, the two fish together almost heavier than itself, but it held them easily, looking eager for Yizi’s praise.

Si Yihuan saw this scene and happily exclaimed, ”Lunch is going to be a feast! How are your animals so well-behaved?”

Bai Ruozhu patted Xiaohei’s head and praised it, then called for someone to process the deer and fish, planning to cook a good outdoor feast for lunch.

With the bonfire lit and the rack ready, the deer meat and fish were put on to slowly roast.

Bai Ruozhu took out some seasoning and honey, and soon the aroma wafted far away.

Everyone became interested, even the people on Elder Su’s side gathered around, waiting to have a share of the fragrant roast deer.

Bai Ruozhu asked everyone to be patient, saying they needed to flip and roast a little more before it would be ready.

She then sliced open a few spots with a dagger to ensure the meat was more flavorful. In three to five minutes, it would be ready to eat.

The fish cooked quickly, but with only two fish it wasn’t enough to share, so one was given to Little Dengdeng and the other to Lin Pinger.

At this moment, the sound of hooves came from the official road, Bai Ruozhu looked up.

A young man and woman rode over on horseback, the man sniffed, ”Yes, that’s the smell.”

The woman stopped her horse in front of Bai Ruozhu, didn’t dismount or offer greeting, and said arrogantly, ”You’ve grilled this meat well, my lord wants to buy it!”

Bai Ruozhu glanced at her indifferently, said nothing, and continued turning the deer meat in her hand.

”Hey, I am talking to you, are you deaf, kitchen maid?” the woman exclaimed haughtily.

At this time, noblewomen rarely cooked themselves, especially not such wild food, so the woman mistook Bai Ruozhu for a kitchen maid.

”How dare you speak like that? Don’t spoil my lord’s pleasure, go and stand aside!” Yizi shouted.

During these days together, she had grown more respectful and admiring of Bai Ruozhu. Though this young girl was gentle, if anyone offended those she admired, she’d turn into a little hedgehog, much like when a former old servant disrespected the deceased Lady Pan, she exploded furious.

”Bold servant, do you know who I am? How dare you speak to me like this!” the woman said angrily, suddenly drawing her sword to stab at Yizi.

Jianqi and others were about to act but stopped upon Bai Ruozhu’s signal. Bai Ruozhu thought it should be left to Yizi to resolve it; otherwise, she always felt awkward about taking wages without serving as a guard effectively.

Also, Bai Ruozhu intended to train Yizi a bit.

Just as the sword was about to pierce Yizi, the sword tip suddenly veered, sending the woman rushing past Yizi; Yizi stepped aside two steps, quickly gesturing, triggering a simple illusion array.

Unaware, the woman slashed blindly within the small designated area while those outside saw her raging like a headless fly.

The man with her frowned and sighed, saying, ”Axia, you’re too reckless.”

He finished speaking, dismounted, clasped his hands courteously toward Bai Ruozhu’s party, and said, ”Friends, my young sister is unruly and speaks out of turn, I humbly ask for your forgiveness.”

The temporary array Yizi made was only able to trap the woman briefly. Seeing this, she deliberately gave the man face and said, ”You’re at least polite, so today I’ll let her off the hook.”

With a wave of her hand, the illusion array disappeared, and Axia realized she had been slashing at air.

”Demon woman, you court death!” She turned, attempting to attack Yizi again but was stopped by the man.

”Axia, if you continue to misbehave, the lord will send you back to your sect.” the man said with a stern face.

The woman seemed to fear the man a little, huffed unwillingly, and sheathed her sword.

At this time, deer meat was ready, Bai Ruozhu divided it up as if no one was around, giving shares to her family members, Elder Su’s people, even to Jianqi’s group a little.

The woman watched as Bai Ruozhu was about to distribute all the deer meat, angrily shouted, ”Can’t you hear me? My lord wants to buy your roast meat!”

Bai Ruozhu didn’t even lift her head, casually said, ”He wants to buy, must I sell? You’ve repeatedly shown disrespect, if you don’t want to die then quickly leave, don’t hinder my view.”

Seeing Bai Ruozhu upset, Yizi immediately commanded Xiaomao to rush over; Xiaomao’s sharp claws almost scratched the woman’s face, startling her.

”Fine, you wait for me!” the woman turned furiously, ”Brother, you’re not helping me, right? I’ll go tell the lord, I don’t believe he can’t deal with them.”

The woman mounted and raced away quickly.

The man shook his head helplessly, clasped his hands and apologized to Bai Ruozhu’s group again, ”I apologize for my sister.”

Bai Ruozhu glanced at him indifferently, ”Is she your biological sister?”

The man nodded, ”Indeed.”

Bai Ruozhu sneered, ”Then you’re a terribly unfit brother. I also have a brother, if I were to be so rude and willful, my brother would immediately stop me severely, not wait until I cause trouble that I shouldn’t and lose my life.”

She had watched for a while; this man appeared to apologize on behalf of his sister, yet his attitude was too indulgent. If you persistently had a strict and firm stance, could you still be unable to manage your own sister?

Of course, you can choose not to discipline her, so sooner or later someone else will thoroughly discipline her.

Bai Zepei at the side touched his nose. Would he treat his own sister harshly? Of course not, for his sister had never been rude or willful, how could he be strict?

The man’s face became several shades darker, clasping his hands, said, ”Madam’s words are instructive, I’ll accept this lesson.”

He said this and intended to leave on horseback, but a luxurious horse carriage approached from the rear as Axia returned, her head raised like a proud peacock.

It seemed the lord she mentioned had come personally.
