Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

The knock on the door at 10:00 pm was especially abrupt. The sentinel checked Xia Jinyuan’s identification document before letting him in. Xia Jinyuan didn’t press the doorbell and just knocked. Major General Yang, who was talking to his son in the room, was stunned.

”Why didn’t you ring the doorbell?”

The only son of Major General Yang, who was in his first year of university, stood up to open the door. Mrs. Yang, who was cleaning up in the kitchen, wiped her hands and came out. She smiled and said, ”I’ll open the door. You can chat with your father. You father and son haven’t seen each other for a long time. If you don’t talk now, when will you find your next chance?”

When he heard the knock on the door again, Major General Yang’s expression changed slightly. He stood up and said to his only son, ”I’ll go get it. Help your mom clean up the kitchen.”

He had probably guessed who it was.

”Is it a soldier of yours?” Mrs. Yang stood still and turned to her only son. ”Go back to your room. Don’t disturb your father.”

Major General Yang, who was walking toward the door, waved his hand. ”No need. I’ll take a walk outside with him. He won’t be entering the house. You guys rest early.”

He was a little afraid of letting that brat enter his house.

If Little Ye hadn’t been sent on a mission, it wouldn’t have mattered if Xia Jinyuan entered the house to chat with him.

However…

Mrs. Yang never made any decisions regarding Major General Yang’s matters. Hence, when she heard this, she didn’t say much. She only said, ”I wonder how your soldiers can bear with your bad temper.” Then, she said to her only son, ”Don’t learn from your father in the future.”

Major General Yang’s only son was 19 years old this year. His name was Yu. He was cultured and refined.

Hearing this, the 19-year-old Yang Yu raised his eyebrows and smiled brightly. ”With my father’s temper, only you and his soldiers can endure it. I can occasionally endure it.”

He turned and said to Major General Yang, who was about to walk out, ”Dad, wear a coat when you go out. It’s cold. You’re already old. Don’t pretend to be strong of your young soldiers. My mother will be the one who suffers the most if you fall sick.”

Major General Yang’s expression turned gloomy. Mrs. Yang suppressed her laughter and took a coat from the room. She chased after him. ”Yu is right. You should admit that you’re old. Do you really think that you’re still in your 20s?”

Major General Yang’s expression darkened. He didn’t want to take the coat. But thinking about it… It was quite cold to walk outside in the middle of the winter. He took the coat. ”Rest early. You don’t have to wait for me.”

”Alright, alright. Hurry up and come back.”

Just like that, Major General Yang was pushed out by his wife.

Since Major General Yang didn’t plan to invite the soldier into his house, Mrs. Yang didn’t open the door personally. She pushed Major General Yang to the entrance and turned around to return to the living room.

The door opened. Major General Yang said directly, ”Did you bring the car here? Leave your keys. You can leave now.”

In the end, the keys were left behind, but he didn’t leave.

Two hours later, Major General Yang, who was so cold that he was shivering, returned home. When Mrs. Yang heard the door opening, she quickly prepared a cup of ginger tea. When the hot ginger tea entered his stomach, Major General Yang felt his body gradually warming up.

Mrs. Yang’s heart ached when she saw that her husband’s lips had turned purple from the cold. After some time, they finally returned to normal. ”Couldn’t you just talk in your study? Why did you have to go outside? You must be so cold that your bones are frozen. I wonder if you’ll catch a cold tomorrow morning.

”Next winter, if your soldiers come to our house in the middle of winter, just invite them in. I don’t want to see you suffer like this.”

Major General Yang never received his subordinates who came to his house personally other than for work. Mrs. Yang was aware of her husband’s character, so she didn’t say much before.

Now that she saw Major General Yang’s lips turning purple from the cold, her heart ached so much that she couldn’t help but say a few more words.
