Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

”Hurry! Hurry! Speed up!”

”One, two, three! Up!”

The rain was so heavy. The young figures were busy in the rain. Their hands and feet had long been soaked by the rain until their skin was wrinkled and white. Their entire bodies were like a walking watering machine.

At five in the morning, the 15,000 sandbags were finally carried over. They guarded the bank tightly. At this moment, all the students were so tired that they didn’t have the energy to take another step.

Ye Jian leaned on Xia Jinyuan’s shoulder. She was so tired that she didn’t want to talk anymore.

The two of them carried many sandbags together tonight. In the end, Ye Jian avoided Xia Jinyuan so that he wouldn’t help her anymore. She was afraid that he would collapse from exhaustion.

The students all sat on the ground and leaned against each other. Under such fatigue, they still remembered that they had to form a formation and not lean against each other.

Commissar Yue and the other political commissars came down from the dam and saw the students sitting in the water. They were so tired that they didn’t even choose a proper place to sit. Their eyes were wet.

They really wanted to give the students a resting place to shelter them from the rain. The surroundings were wide and spacious. Besides the houses, there was no place to rest.

”Don’t sleep, don’t sleep! You’ll catch a cold if you sleep! Don’t sleep, do you hear me?!”

Along the way, Commissar Yue and the officer kept shaking the students who were so tired that they were about to fall asleep in the rain. ”Everyone, rest for a while. But don’t sleep, do you hear me?”

The truck stopped by the side of the road. The students were still two to three kilometers away from the road. They needed to walk over to board the truck. Their bodies were sore, and they couldn’t move. At this moment, they just wanted to rest and catch their breath.

After all, Ye Jian and Xia Jinyuan were different. No matter how tired they were, they could still stand up. After resting for five minutes, Xia Jinyuan stood up first. He wanted to return to the military school first, pack his luggage, and rush to the airport.

”Come, let me carry you to the car to rest.” He stood up and reached out his hand. He pulled Ye Jian, who was about to get up, together with him. ”Take a nap in the truck. Don’t fall asleep.”

Ye Jian waved her hand and said, ”We have to gather and leave together. I’ll send you off.”

When going out on a mission, one was not allowed to leave the team alone. This was a rule.

Xia Jinyuan pursed his lips and looked around. Among all the students, only he and the little fox stood up. He didn’t know how long it would take for the main team to gather…

Ye Jian knew what he was worried about and quickly comforted him, saying, ”Don’t worry about me. In the past, when I passed through the primeval forest in Yun Province alone, it rained heavily for half a month. It’s okay, I can handle it. Come, I’ll send you off. If you stay any longer, you won’t be able to catch the plane.

”Visiting Uncle and Aunt is important…” She was talking about J5’s elderly parents.

She insisted on sending him off, but Xia Jinyuan didn’t want her to send him off at all. She was so tired, but she still wanted to send him off. He just wanted her to go back to the truck to rest.

He didn’t want Ye Jian to send him off, but he couldn’t resist her at all. He was at his wit’s end. He could only take a step back and let her send him off a few hundred meters.

The two of them took a step back. Before Commissar Yue and the officers arrived, they left together.

Xia Jinyuan came and went in a hurry. The two of them didn’t have any time to truly belong to each other. The ten minutes of walk they got out of their busy schedule was their date time.

They were too busy to have much time for the two of them.

Xia Jinyuan left in a hurry. Even Xu Wen and He Jing didn’t know that he had been here. Firstly, it was in the middle of the night. Secondly, they were wearing the same raincoat and carrying the same life jacket. It was impossible to tell who was who in the dark.

The dean’s vehicle was already waiting in front. The two of them held hands and walked for about 300 meters before Xia Jinyuan ordered Ye Jian to return. She was not allowed to stand on the spot and watch him leave. He would supervise her and make sure she returned immediately.
