Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Xia Jinyuan didn’t take Liu Yang’s words to heart. The military school had always had too many boats chasing too few fish. It was normal for several male students to have a good impression of the same female student. It was the restlessness of youth. It might not be love but just a good impression.

The rain was pouring. The puddles of yellow mud flowed everywhere. When he stepped on it, the mud splashed on the students around him. Xia Jinyuan pulled Ye Jian’s cap and sighed with a smile. ”If I listen to everything, I’ll get suffocated.”

Now was the time to work. Xia Jinyuan, who always wanted to be scrupulous in separating public from private interests, wouldn’t ask Ye Jian to explain just because of Liu Yang’s teasing.

Ye Jian shook off the rainwater on her face and couldn’t help but purse her lips and smile. The two of them ran side by side and continued to rush to the sand-bearing point.

The rain was very heavy, and there were no signs of it getting smaller. Xia Jinyuan frowned slightly. As he ran, he said to Ye Jian in a low voice, ”The terrain of White Town is too low. If the rain continues like now, the dam might break.”

There was another major hidden danger in White Town. There were many private battlefields, and most of them were close to the tributaries by the river. These places were damaged to the point that the soil was soft. Once the tributaries gathered together and the river sand surged, it would be another disaster.

When they arrived at White Town, Commissar Yue told the students the truth. He didn’t hide the possibility of a disaster.

Ye Jian’s understanding of White Town was not as good as Xia Jinyuan. Hearing that, she replied in a low voice, ”There are a total of 15,000 sandbags. We’re in charge of dealing with the biggest hidden danger first. The village will bring people to clear a few tributaries and try their best to consolidate them in advance.”

Sandbags were the best solution at the moment.

Hundreds of third-year students from the National Science University ran in the dark and rainy night. Their young and immature faces were not afraid of the danger they faced. They took on the responsibility and faced certain difficulties bravely.

The 15,000 sandbags kept decreasing. The sandbags on the other side of the dam piled higher and higher. No one complained about being tired. Even if their arms and shoulders were scratched by the sandbags, they gritted their teeth and persevered without flinching.

”Press more this way. It’s not tight! The few of you, step back. Don’t get too close to the dam!”

Commissar Yue followed them the entire time and patrolled back and forth along the entire embankment that needed to be reinforced. He needed to keep an eye on their students. While observing the danger, he had to take care of their safety!

There was a mortality rate for this mission, and he didn’t want to see it at all!

The dean of the department was tracking and reminding them from another side. He was tense, afraid that an accident would happen.

”Footsteps, watch your step! Don’t rush blindly! Watch out!”

”Those who can’t take it, rest for a while. Don’t force yourself! There are still many opportunities that need you!”

Holding the hand-held loudspeaker, the dean reminded them again and again. He stared at the students coming and going. Once he realized that some students were not paying attention to the river, the dean immediately widened his eyes and shouted.

This night was destined to be the most unforgettable night in Ye Jian’s military school. Everyone was racing against time and moving forward in the rain.

At 3:27 am, the river in White Town broke through the dam. A large amount of sand rushed into the farmland along with the muddy river water, causing at least 20 acres of farmland to be affected. The dangerous spot was less than 20 meters away from Ye Jian’s mission location…

The anxious-looking village official ran over to borrow people. Commissar Yue and a few officers gritted their teeth and ’lent’ 40 third-year students. Afraid that something would happen to the students, two officers followed the village official to the other side to carry sandbags.
