Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

As for the instructor, the words he said off the training ground were opposite to the ruthlessness he displayed on the training ground. His verbal skills were rather artistic. One could find many layers of meaning to the words he said if one were to carefully listen.

Ye Jian and Song Zhiqiu exchanged glances and followed the instructor to the sports ground.

The content of the friendly competition was very simple. There were three courses.

5,000 meters of running, 400 meters of obstacle course, and a round of accurate shooting. As for sit-ups and the like, there was none of that. There were only these three hard subjects.

The physical training class of the four classes was temporarily put aside. The students gathered and sat outside under the sun. The officer went on stage to say a few words. Xu Wen heard someone mutter, ”Friendship first, competition second. Who are you lying to?”

”There must be a winner and a loser in a competition. It’s so embarrassing to lose.”

”Tsk, tsk, tsk. These words are just said for the sake of it. I wonder if those two fellows can understand it.”

”We’ll compete directly. We’ll just have to wait for them to lose. They already issued us a challenge. We have to take them down!”

Ye Jian wanted to laugh when she heard that. However, as the leader, she had to be more serious.

”If the leader is speaking, you can’t speak. Do you want to go up?” This was a matter of discipline. Even though they were in the same dormitory, Ye Jian reprimanded them sternly. ”Run three kilometers after this!”

Xu Wen was speechless. Disaster had fallen from the sky. Sorrow, sorrow, great sorrow!

With Ye Jian’s criticism, no matter how much Xu Wen nagged, there was no room for discussion when it came to discipline. She could only blame herself for being too talkative!

There were six students from both countries. The National Science University sent six students too.

Ye Jian and Song Zhiqiu stood up and walked to the middle to stand in a line with the other four students. Although the six of them came from different classes, the classes would usually hold small competitions to encourage them. Hence, they were considered acquaintances. They just didn’t know each other’s names.

Of course, Ye Jian was an exception. Everyone knew her.

The six of them nodded slightly as a greeting.

They were standing on the far left. In the middle were the six students from Manchester. On the far right were the students from Sedoya. The scorching sun hung above their heads. They stepped on the grass as they waited for the competition to start.

The rules stated that 18 people would run the 5,000 meters at the same time. They would be ranked first, second, and third.

The 400 obstacle course were relay obstacles. In other words, they needed to run back and forth. The winner was determined according to the shortest relay time.

Accurate shooting meant shooting ten bullets at a fixed point. While moving forward, they had to shoot 20 bullets 30 meters away from the target. All 20 bullets needed to be fired. If one party still had bullets, the team’s score would be invalid. The score would be determined by the total number of shots fired by the various teams.

It was the most basic competition. The difficulty wasn’t increased at all.

The two Manchester students, who were constantly causing trouble, couldn’t hold it in anymore. After the officer finished explaining the rules of the competition, they raised their voices and said a bunch of things. That meant that they understood everything. But did the Chinese and Sedoyan students understand?

The six students from Sedoya frowned at the same time. Their dissatisfaction with the two students from Manchester had reached its peak. They didn’t want to compete with the students in their class, nor did they want to compete with the students from Manchester.

The officer looked at the two Manchester students who were speaking and glanced to the side. A student holding a recorder had already recorded everything.
