I Just Started College, How Could I Become a Part-Time Papa?!

Chapter 139: Chapter 87: Overwhelming Sense of Shame

”I only look skinny now. When we get home, I’ll let you have a look, and you’ll know just how much meat I have on me.”

”Stop shopping. I want to go home now.”

”You little brat, stop messing around and hurry up and pick something.”

”See? You’re getting impatient too.”

Jiang Wanyi got embarrassed and reached out to pinch Chen Yuan’s waist. ”I’m going to pinch you.”

Neither of them noticed that they had, unconsciously, started having this kind of physical contact with each other.

But neither of them knew just when this behavior had started.

After buying the meat and oysters, they also bought some vegetables, eggs, and fruit.

”I’ll make you a fruit salad tonight. It’s a new recipe I learned from watching videos. I’ll let you try it.”

”Alright!”

After they finished shopping, Chen Yuan pushed the cart with Mili in it and headed for the checkout counter.

But as they passed the toy section, he saw a hand puppet that looked like a little tiger. Chen Yuan thought it was amusing, so he picked one up.

Having gathered everything they needed, the three of them went to check out.

They took the items from the shopping cart and placed them on the counter to be scanned one by one.

Mili was still sitting in the cart, her eyes fixed on the condoms displayed at the checkout, and she reached out and grabbed a box.

After everything was scanned, Jiang Wanyi took out her phone, ready to pay.

”Ma’am, there’s one more item that hasn’t been scanned.”

”But I took everything out...”

She turned back to the shopping cart and saw the box of condoms in Mili’s hand.

’This little troublemaker!’

Jiang Wanyi took the condoms from her, put the box back where it belonged, and Chen Yuan noticed her ears turning red.

After paying, they pushed the cart to the B2 parking level.

Jiang Wanyi held the baby while Chen Yuan carried the groceries. Once everything was loaded into the car, they headed home.

”You have your Subject Two exam tomorrow, right?”

”Yeah.”

”If you pass Subject Two, you’ll have the Subject Three exam in about a month, and then Subject Four after that. If everything goes smoothly, you should have your license in about two months.”

”My instructor and I calculated it. If I have no issues with Subject Two and Three, a month and a half should be enough.”

”Then you’ll be able to drive.”

”You’d dare let me drive right after I get my license?”

”I’ll practice with you for a few days. It’s not that hard, really. Besides, my car has full coverage insurance. I understand how you feel, but you have to go through a process to get used to it. You don’t have to be so formal with me.”

”Will you yell at me if I don’t do well?”

”Don’t be silly. How could I ever yell at you?”

By the time they finished talking, they had arrived home.

Chen Yuan carried the groceries, while Jiang Wanyi held Mili in one arm and pushed the stroller with the other.

When the three of them got home, Jiang Wanyi had Chen Yuan watch the baby while she unpacked the groceries by the door.

The next step was cooking. She changed into a pair of black pants and a white tank top, putting her great figure on full display.

”Look at all this meat on me, and you still say I’m not chubby.”

”You’re not chubby, you’re gorgeous. And I won’t hear any arguments otherwise.”

”Fine, if you say I’m not chubby, then I’m not chubby.”

She tied on her apron and headed to the kitchen, pleased.

Cooking wasn’t a chore for Jiang Wanyi; in fact, she quite enjoyed the process.

’As for whether I’m chubby or not, I’m not going to worry about it anymore. As long as Chen Yuan doesn’t think I am, that’s all that matters.’

Inside the playpen, Chen Yuan was using the hand puppet, making animal noises to amuse Mili.

Jiang Wanyi suddenly realized that a father plays a crucial role in a child’s development.

’If it were me, I could never play with Mili like that. But men seem to be able to naturally slip into a child’s world, becoming completely silly in an instant.’

’I could never do that.’

’Sigh, I’ll stop thinking about it. I should just make him something delicious.’

After about an hour of bustling around in the kitchen, she had prepared braised pork, garlic oysters, shredded potatoes, and a cold side dish. Every single one looked incredibly appetizing.

The three of them sat down to eat. Mili’s dinner was rice cereal and fruit puree.

Chen Yuan ate his meal while Jiang Wanyi fed Mili. The scene was peaceful and serene.

After dinner, Chen Yuan went into the kitchen to make his health-boosting tea.

Jiang Wanyi, holding the baby, stood in the kitchen doorway.

”Open the fridge, and then open the bottom drawer.”

Chen Yuan did as she said and found a drawer neatly packed full of breast milk bags.

”Whoa, that’s quite a stockpile.”

”I don’t need to store it anymore. She can’t even finish the fresh supply each day. These have been in the fridge for a while, so I’m planning to use them up soon.”

”Shouldn’t I be the one to ’use them up’?”

”Of course. You can drink it over a few sittings. It’d be a waste to throw it out.”

”Back at the supermarket, you said you were going to make me a fruit salad tonight, right?”

Hearing the words ”fruit salad,” Jiang Wanyi immediately understood what Chen Yuan was implying.

”You don’t want me to... use this to make it, do you?”

”Well, it’s more or less the same thing... what do you think?”

”This...”

Jiang Wanyi felt a pang of embarrassment.

’He has a point, but there’s still a difference between regular milk and breast milk...’

’Most importantly, it came from my own body. That makes the feeling of shame even stronger.’

’But looking at it from another perspective, maybe it’s not a big deal. It’s all basically the same kind of thing, anyway.’

”Fine. I’ll use this to make it for you. You’re mostly eating the fruit anyway.”

Jiang Wanyi said while holding the baby:

”We probably won’t use that much today. You can have the rest tomorrow, just drink it straight.”

”I’ll do my best to drink it all.”

Chen Yuan took out three bags to thaw, then started making his health-boosting tea.

After he finished, he took over watching the baby, and Jiang Wanyi started making the fruit salad.

She cut up a little of each type of fruit they had bought and poured the breast milk into a bowl.

’When he first suggested the idea, I felt a little embarrassed. But after thinking about it, it didn’t seem like a big deal, so I pushed the feeling down.’

’But now that it’s time to actually do it, the embarrassment is gushing back like a fountain.’

’This is so mortifying!’

’What am I supposed to do?!’
