I Just Started College, How Could I Become a Part-Time Papa?!

Chapter 110: Chapter 78: He’s Not Like the Other Boys

The park was filled with rides, all for adults, but their destination was the indoor playground.

All they had to do was put the child inside and keep an eye on him.

Tickets were 128, and parents were allowed to go inside to supervise.

Once inside, her little nephew was like a fish in water, immediately diving into the ball pit.

Fang Youning sat nearby, her legs curled up, watching her little nephew.

Chen Yuan, bored out of his mind, started watching the other young mothers in the playground.

Jiang Wanyi had desensitized him recently. Out of all these young mothers, not a single one caught his eye.

’At such a tender age, I’ve had to endure so much that I shouldn’t have to.’

’Might as well look at Fang Youning to kill some time.’

He noticed her attention was focused entirely on her nephew. ’Okay, now I can look at her legs.’

There weren’t too many children around. Every surface was covered in colorful foam padding, and as far as the eye could see, there were no hazards. Falling down here was nothing to worry about.

When she turned her head, Fang Youning saw Chen Yuan looking at her legs, and her heart instantly started racing.

’He was looking at my legs when we went home this afternoon, and now he’s looking again.’

’Does he... like looking at my legs?’

But...

’I’ve been sitting for a while, and my leg is starting to fall asleep. I want to move, but what should I do?’

She glanced over at her little nephew. He was still splashing around in the ball pit and had already hit it off with the other kids.

’I was hoping watching my nephew would be a distraction, but my leg has really fallen asleep...’

Feigning nonchalance, Fang Youning shifted her position. The pins and needles in her leg subsided a bit, but she noticed Chen Yuan’s gaze hadn’t moved. He was still staring at the exact same spot.

Hmm?

’Did I misunderstand?’

’He wasn’t looking at my leg, but at the spot where my leg just was?’

’He’s so focused. I moved my entire leg, and it didn’t even break his concentration.’

But...

’What is he thinking about?’

’Still, his profile is pretty handsome.’

”What are you thinking about?”

”Huh? What did you say?”

Chen Yuan suddenly snapped out of it and looked at Fang Youning.

”Did I disturb you?”

”No, I was just thinking about something.”

”What were you thinking about? Can you tell me?”

”I was pondering where the universe began and when it will end...”

’That was a fucking close call. Good thing I was quick enough not to move a muscle.’

’If she knew I was staring at her legs, wouldn’t she think I’m a pervert?’

”Th-That sounds like a philosophical question.”

”Yes, it is a philosophical question. I’ve been a huge fan of philosophy since I was a kid.”

”Really?”

Fang Youning’s eyes lit up, as if this were something incredible.

”What kind of questions do you usually think about?”

”All sorts of things. For example...”

’Why is she pressing the issue? Can’t we just let this be a mutually beneficial arrangement?’

”For instance, there’s the origin of the universe I just mentioned. Then there’s the question of why a beautiful female neighbor always has a reclusive boy living next door, why the superpower to stop time always seems to show up in Japan, or why a man’s younger brother is always visiting his house. I ponder all sorts of questions like these...”

”Well...”

Fang Youning started to ponder this as well. ’Of all those philosophical questions, why did only the first one seem normal? The rest felt a little... strange.’

’It’s probably because I’m not very well-read and don’t enjoy philosophy books. I can’t think about such profound questions like he can. I’m so pathetic.’

’But he really is different from other guys.’

’Other guys are all so lecherous. He’s the only one who’s different, who thinks about things like philosophy.’

...
