I Just Started College, How Could I Become a Part-Time Papa?!

Chapter 101: Chapter 75: Here to Avenge My Mother

The two of them each had their roles. Chen Yuan carried Mili away, and Jiang Wanyi was responsible for cleaning up the aftermath.

Next up was feeding time and then putting her to sleep.

After finishing her meal in Jiang Wanyi’s arms, she eagerly went into Chen Yuan’s. He patted her back to burp her, preventing any choking.

Jiang Wanyi just couldn’t understand. She had more or less mastered Chen Yuan’s methods for soothing the baby, plus she had the natural advantage of being her actual mom. So why did the baby become so well-behaved the moment she was in Chen Yuan’s arms?

’Is my daughter just obsessed with good looks?’

Chen Yuan’s attention was entirely on the baby. He patted her gently and sang a nursery rhyme.

Jiang Wanyi sat quietly beside them. Chen Yuan had a beautiful singing voice. She felt like it could lull even her to sleep, to say nothing of a baby.

About ten minutes later, Mili had mostly stopped moving, still clutching a little duck toy in her hand.

Worried she wasn’t sound asleep yet, he soothed her for a few more minutes before gently laying her down in her little bed.

”Look how cute she is.”

Looking at the sleeping Mili, Chen Yuan marveled from the bottom of his heart. Her fair, tender little face was like a soft cloud.

”I see her through mom-goggles, so she always looks good to me. If you say she’s cute, then she must be,” Jiang Wanyi said with a smile.

”She is very cute. I’ve never seen anyone prettier than Mili.”

”It seems you two have bonded.”

”Of course. I do hold her a lot, after all.”

After settling Mili down, the two began today’s postpartum recovery routine.

Jiang Wanyi went to change clothes, while Chen Yuan mentally calculated the time.

Song Jianye’s aunt had arrived. Jiang Wanyi would have to spend time with her tomorrow, so she couldn’t go to her driving lesson. That meant he wouldn’t need to leave in a hurry.

If nothing else came up, he could give her another session and speed up the completion of his task.

After changing into her yoga gear, the gap between Jiang Wanyi’s thighs was almost gone.

There was no progress bar for this task, but Chen Yuan had a hunch he was close to completing it.

”Look, there’s barely any gap left. And I’ve even lost a little weight recently. If I were still at my old weight, there probably wouldn’t be any gap at all.”

”But that’s not the main point. We have to see if there’s any leaking. Only when there’s no leaking at all can we say you’re all better.”

A sly smile touched Jiang Wanyi’s lips.

”See, this is where you’re not a professional.”

”What do you mean?”

”Even women who haven’t given birth can experience this, though it’s not severe. In other words, if it only happens a tiny bit occasionally, that’s considered normal.”

”This is a bit of a blind spot for me.”

”It’s normal. You’re a guy. It would be abnormal if you knew so much about women’s issues,” Jiang Wanyi said.

Chen Yuan thought about it and felt that made sense.

”How’s your recovery coming along?”

”I can run and jump without any problems now, which is why I want to go to the hospital for a check-up to see how things are,” Jiang Wanyi said.

’It was just as he’d thought. She was probably almost fully recovered.’

”Alright, let’s continue.”

”Okay.”

As usual, Jiang Wanyi lay down beside Mili while Chen Yuan helped her with the postpartum recovery routine.

While enjoying it, he was also thinking about his task.

’Jiang Wanyi hasn’t mentioned wanting to take a family photo, at least not to me, and I feel it would be awkward to bring it up directly.’

’I can wait a bit. If she never brings it up, I’ll just have to drop some hints.’

’Men might not be interested in family photos, but surely no mother would refuse.’

”Hey,” Jiang Wanyi said suddenly.

”What is it?”

”I’m being serious with you. Don’t you dare do that again. If you do, I’ll get really angry.”

”Are you talking about the receipt?”

”Yes.”

”Money is different from other things. It’s better to be clear about it.”

”It’s fine if other people want to keep clear accounts with me, but you can’t.”

Jiang Wanyi rolled her eyes beautifully. ”You spend all day teaching my daughter to call you ’daddy,’ and now you want to draw a clear line between us, is that it?”

”Fine, I’ll spend your money from now on. I can give you a foot massage later, add on another hour, or something.”

”Oh, stop it. You’re getting more and more ridiculous.”

Suddenly, a thought popped into Jiang Wanyi’s mind.

’When he said that, was he hinting that he wanted to touch my legs?’

’But he’s too embarrassed to say it outright, so he’s just dropping hints?’

’Then again, he’s been helping with my postpartum recovery for so long, he’s basically been touching them this whole time.’

’This little rascal.’

’But then again, it’s normal. He’s a young man in his prime, after all.’

He finished the pelvic floor exercises, then moved on to the rectus abdominis. By the time he was done with everything, more than an hour had passed.

She got up to move around, put her hair up, and prepared to start the next phase of her recovery.

Jiang Wanyi had a determined streak.

If she weren’t so persistent with her daily exercises, she never would have recovered this quickly, even with the rewards from Tongzi.

She took her yoga mat to the living room, but Jiang Wanyi didn’t start practicing right away.

”I bought a new outfit. Do you want to see it?”
