I Just Started College, How Could I Become a Part-Time Papa?!

Chapter 122: Chapter 82: Fang Youqing’s Worry

But...

Why did this angle feel so strangely familiar?

’In this moment, the lessons from several teachers during my youth all came full circle.’

”Where did it go...?”

She rummaged around inside for a bit but couldn’t find it.

Apparently not tall enough to reach, Fang Youqing stood on her tiptoes, trying to rummage around inside.

”I’m sure it was here...”

Rising higher onto her tiptoes, Fang Youqing reached for the gram scale inside.

AHH—

The moment she touched it, Fang Youqing screamed. The chair under her feet slipped, and her body toppled over.

With quick reflexes, Chen Yuan rushed forward and grabbed her by the legs, holding her steady before setting her down on the ground.

”Sister Qing, are you okay?”

”I’m-I’m fine...”

Fang Youqing clutched her chest in panic, her heart still pounding from the scare.

’A woman in her thirties like me was just caught by a young man?’

’And he held me so steadily?’

’I weigh over 130 pounds!’

”As long as you’re okay.”

After composing herself, Fang Youqing got to work. She measured out 10 grams, mixed it with the vegetables, and added them to a health pot which she then filled with water.

”Once it boils, let it cool down, and then he can drink it. But it works pretty slowly, taking about half a month to a full month, so don’t be impatient.”

”I have a pretty good mindset about it. It’s not a major illness, after all. We’ll just take our time and let him recuperate.”

”A lot of kids have this problem nowadays, so there’s really no need to worry too much.”

”I’ve been conditioned by now. When he was just a few months old, I was already running him to the hospital. I handled everything myself. Now, as long as he doesn’t have a high fever, I barely worry.”

In this regard, Jiang Wanyi couldn’t compare to Fang Youqing, which just came down to their different personalities.

”Sister Qing, if there’s nothing else, I’m going to head down.”

’Lunch was over, and the tonic for conditioning the spleen and stomach was all prepared. There was nothing else for me to do here. I’ll just wander around downstairs for a bit, then head back with Fang Youqing.’

”Just a minute, we’ll go down together.”

”Okay.”

Fang Youqing went back to her bedroom and changed into a pair of gray sweatpants. She was still wearing the same oversized T-shirt and was holding a handful of medicine.

There were capsules and tablets, all different colors. There must have been at least a dozen pills.

”You take that much medicine?”

”I hemorrhaged badly during childbirth and haven’t fully recovered all this time. It’s been almost two years, and I’ve pretty much never stopped taking medicine.”

Reaching the kitchen, Fang Youqing poured a large glass of water and took all the pills.

’Jiang Wanyi had a similar condition, though hers wasn’t as severe. Besides, with the Seven Treasures Water I brewed for her, she’s already doing much better now.’

”You’ve been taking them for so long and still haven’t gotten better. The medicine must not be very effective, huh?”

”You could say the effects are just so-so. I’ve been to the hospital more times than I can count and tried all sorts of different medicines. After trying a whole bunch, their effects weren’t even as good as what I’m taking now.”

”When I get back, I’ll write you a prescription. You can brew it into a drink the same way. The effect will be much stronger than your pills.”

”You also have a formula for balancing qi and blood?”

”Mhm, and it works quite well.”

”I won’t stand on ceremony, then. I really need something like this right now.”

”It’s a small matter.”

After taking her medicine, Fang Youqing grabbed her house keys, slipped on a pair of black sandals, and left with Chen Yuan.

When they got downstairs, Fang Youning and Aunt Liu were playing in the sand with the kid. A few other little girls were there too, and they were all having a great time.

Seeing Chen Yuan, Zhao Wen Cheng ran over with his small shovel and pulled Chen Yuan toward the little sandbox.

”Uncle, let’s play together.”

”Alright, I’ll play with you for a bit.”

Chen Yuan enthusiastically went to shovel sand with Zhao Wen Cheng.

”Sis, I’ve noticed that Chengcheng really seems to like playing with Chen Yuan.”

”He’s finally not playing with little girls,” Fang Youqing said, relieved.

”That just means my nephew is popular,” Fang Youning said with a hint of pride.

”If he’s this popular with the ladies when he gets to college, I won’t have to worry. But he’s only two, and all his little friends are girls. I’m afraid he’ll grow up to be a sissy.”

”Er... it probably won’t get that bad, right?”

”On my way back today, I passed by the middle school next to our complex. And those boys... don’t even get me started. Every single one of them was like a little girl, with not an ounce of masculinity,” Fang Youqing said. ”I’ve made up my mind. When he’s a little older, I’m enrolling him in a taekwondo class. It would be terrible if he turned into a sissy.”

”Then let him play with Chen Yuan more. Maybe some of that masculinity will rub off on him,” Fang Youning said with a smile.

For some reason, Fang Youqing’s mind drifted back to what had just happened in the kitchen.

’I was just falling straight down, and he caught me in an instant.’

’If nothing else, he’s definitely strong.’

’And he really is quite manly.’

Subconsciously, Fang Youqing’s gaze fell upon Chen Yuan.

”Chen Yuan is pretty tall. Does he play basketball?”

”He does!”

Fang Youning lit up, as if she’d just been handed the key to her favorite topic.

”He’s amazing at basketball! Barely anyone at our school can beat him.”

”Are you sure you’re not seeing him through rose-colored glasses? Chen Yuan is so fair-skinned, he doesn’t look like someone who plays basketball often.”

Fang Youqing had a bit of a stereotype when it came to boys who played basketball.

She figured they should have dark, tanned skin, not be so fair.

”Maybe he just has good skin that doesn’t tan, I don’t know. Anyway, he’s really, really good at basketball.”

’No wonder he could catch me so easily. If he didn’t exercise regularly, he definitely wouldn’t have that kind of strength.’

’But judging by my sister’s reaction, she must like him. She’s just too shy to admit it.’

”What’s his temperament like?”

”His temperament...”

Fang Youning thought for a moment. ”He’s great the rest of the time, except for when he’s playing basketball.”
