I Just Started College, How Could I Become a Part-Time Papa?!

Chapter 117: Chapter 81: A World Where Only Auntie Is Hurt

Held down by three adults, Zhao Wen Cheng sensed something was wrong and started wailing.

Fang Youning and Aunt Liu both felt for him, their faces filled with worry.

Chen Yuan and Fang Youqing were relatively calm, their expressions unreadable.

”Shh.”

Chen Yuan made a hushing gesture. ”If you keep crying, you won’t be able to become Ultraman later.”

Instantly!

Zhao Wen Cheng stopped crying.

Compared to the slight pain, he wanted to become Ultraman more.

Fang Youqing looked at Chen Yuan, surprised at how good he was with kids. She had tried everything to soothe him yesterday, and nothing had worked until she gave him something to eat.

”Can you go for one minute without crying?” Chen Yuan asked.

”Yes.”

”Are you sure?”

Zhao Wen Cheng hesitated.

”Let me tell you, if it’s too long, you can’t become Ultraman.”

”Cut it off! I want to become Ultraman.”

Chen Yuan was speechless.

’Give your poor mother a break.’

Fang Youqing didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. The joys of a child’s innocent frankness were truly unimaginable.

”Since you’re ready, just bear with it. If you shed a single tear, you won’t be able to become Ultraman.”

”I’m ready.”

”Good.”

With his attention diverted, it was time to get down to business.

Chen Yuan drew on his memory and began the procedure. It was indeed a bit tricky. He tried a few times but couldn’t get it all the way back.

”Try again. It’s okay,” Fang Youqing said.

”Since you said so, I won’t hold back.”

”Wait a moment.”

Just as Chen Yuan was about to proceed, Fang Youqing stopped him.

”Is there any risk of... breaking it?”

”Not really. Just hold him steady. I’m starting now.”

”Okay.”

This time, Fang Youqing wasn’t worried. As long as it didn’t stop her from becoming a grandmother one day, she was fine with whatever he did.

Chen Yuan tried a few more times, but it still wasn’t working. He changed his approach, steeled himself, and finally managed to pull it back.

Everyone let out a sigh of relief, feeling as though they had just won a battle.

”Is it a little red?” Fang Youqing asked.

”A little, but it’s not serious. Wash it first, then apply a thin layer of erythromycin ointment.”

”What should we do from now on? The same thing?”

Chen Yuan nodded. ”Applying the ointment for two or three days should do it. After that, just wash it every day and maintain good personal hygiene.”

”You’ve been a great help today.” Fang Youqing looked at her younger sister.

”Xiaoning, I’m going to give the child a bath. Please entertain your classmate. I’ve already ordered food, and it’ll be delivered soon. You two should eat before you leave.”

”Sister Qing, you don’t have to go to such trouble. It wasn’t a big deal. We won’t stay for dinner.”

”No.”

Fang Youqing’s refusal was decisive. ”You have to eat when you get back anyway, right? Listen to me, eat here before you go.”

Seeing this, Chen Yuan felt he couldn’t object further.

’She already ordered the food. She genuinely wants us to stay.’

’If she had said, ’I’ll go cook now,’ then there would be no need to stay.’

Fang Youqing and Aunt Liu took the child to the bathroom. Fang Youning said:

”Let’s go downstairs and buy the ointment.”

”Okay.”

The two of them went downstairs and walked side-by-side toward the entrance of the residential complex.

”I saw the video your External Relations Department posted. The account already has over 7,000 followers. Your singing video got so many likes and comments.”

”We spent twenty yuan on Dou+ promotion.”

”Can twenty yuan really have that much of an effect? I think it’s because you sang so well,” Fang Youning said.

”The Arts Department saw that you guys made an account, so they’re going to start one too.”

”That’s a good thing. The people in the Arts Department are all talented singers and dancers. They’ll probably surpass our follower count quickly.”

Fang Youning walked slowly toward the complex entrance with her hands behind her back, seeming a bit distracted.

”I’m thinking of quitting the Arts Department.”

”Quit? It’s not because Li Dongyang is harassing you, is it?”

”It hasn’t gotten to the point of harassment, I guess. He just messages me all the time. I want to delete him, but I can’t since I’m still in the Arts Department.” Sighing, Fang Youning continued,

”I’m thinking of talking to the president and transferring to your External Relations Department.”

”That’s not a good idea.”

”Not a good idea?”

The disappointment on Fang Youning’s face was palpable. She had wanted to tell Chen Yuan this for a long time and had only just found the opportunity today.

She had thought Chen Yuan would be happy to have her join the External Relations Department so they could work together, but she was met with a firm rejection.

’Does he hate me?’

’If he didn’t hate me, he wouldn’t have rejected me so bluntly, right?’

’I’ve troubled him twice, yesterday and today. He must have been really reluctant, huh?’

’It’s just like when Li Dongyang tries to talk to me. I want to refuse, but I can’t be too harsh about it.’

’Looks like after this meal today, I can’t bother him anymore.’

’I can’t become someone people hate, right?’

”In the Arts Department, you’re the one who stands out the most. As long as you stay there, you’re sure to be the future head,” Chen Yuan said.

”In our External Relations Department, we already have a girl who works really hard getting sponsorships, filming videos, and all that. As long as she doesn’t make any major mistakes, she’s a shoo-in for department head. If you came, with your popularity, the teachers would definitely give you priority during the selection. That’s equivalent to you stealing He Xiaoxi’s opportunity. Do you see what I mean?”

Fang Youning’s mood suddenly brightened, and her listless expression vanished.

”So you didn’t want me to join the External Relations Department because you were considering that, right?”

”What else?”

”Oh, okay! I think what you said makes a lot of sense.”

Fang Youning was overjoyed, as if the sky above her had suddenly cleared.

”I don’t have any other special skills, and I’m not very good at talking to people. If you asked me to go get sponsorships, I probably wouldn’t even be able to get a word out.”

”Exactly. So you should just stay put in the Arts Department. That future department head position definitely has your name on it.”
