The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 778: Chapter 778: I Saved Someone - Are We Even Now?_1

”Catch him!”

With Brecken James’s fierce shout, two people sprang from his side and lunged towards Marcellus Foster.

Marcellus Foster smacked the table with his palm, hurling the table along with its soups and dishes at the two attackers. He then leaped gracefully out of the tall building, his Flying Sword supporting his body as he fled into the distance.

Brecken James sneered, ”Since you’ve run into us, do you still think you can escape? Chase him!”

Brecken James led the group in pursuit while Carson Flores glanced over—the three of them were at the Nascent Soul Stage, the remaining four or five people were at the Golden Core Stage.

Carson Flores got up, paid for his meal, compensated for the table, and then mounted his sword, following the group from above.

After all, since he stumbled upon this scene, he couldn’t just watch Marcellus Foster get beaten to a pulp, could he?

With his status as a Direct Disciple of the Cave Master, Carson Flores wasn’t afraid of offending this Brecken James.

Carson Flores hadn’t flown far when he caught up with the group. Marcellus Foster had clearly tried to resist, but lacking in strength, he was easily subdued.

Brecken James approached Marcellus Foster, smacking his face and snarling, ”When you were messing with me, did you ever think this day would come?”

At this critical moment, Marcellus Foster wasn’t cowed; he straightened his neck and retorted, ”If I had the nerve to mess with you, I’m not afraid of your revenge. So what if you break my bones? Come on then, if you don’t, you’re a coward!”

Brecken James sneered with a cruel smile, ”Brave words! Let’s see if you keep that courage later!”

Just as Brecken James reached out to grab Marcellus Foster’s fingers, ready to snap them one by one, Carson Flores descended from the sky.

Brecken James paused and, turning his head towards Carson Flores, sneered, ”You actually followed, huh? How is it, you want to save him?”

Carson Flores smiled, ”Today he made me quite a bit of money and said he’d treat me to a meal. Yet he bolted and left me to foot the bill, plus compensate for the table. That won’t do; if you cripple him, who do I go to for my due?”

This obvious pretext for a rescue mission would naturally not be taken seriously by anyone. Brecken James scoffed, ”If you want to save him, then try it. If you manage to rescue him today, I’ll let bygones be bygones with his grievances against me.”

Carson Flores smiled, ”A harmonious resolution is always preferable, isn’t it great?”

Brecken James grabbed Marcellus Foster’s fingers, a mock in his voice, ”I’ll break his first finger within three breaths. Whether your friend keeps his fingers is up to your skill.”

Marcellus Foster clenched his teeth, ”Carson bro, they have three Nascent Souls, don’t worry about me. They dare not kill me anyway; a few broken bones won’t kill me!”

Brecken James chuckled heartily, ”That’s the spirit... one!”

Carson Flores summoned the Three Provinces Sword, stepping forward to face the first Golden Core Realm man. Without a word, he struck with his sword.

The man raised his hand and a shield appeared in front of him.

The Three Provinces Sword struck the shield, which, like paper mache, was instantly and cleanly cleaved in two.

The sharp blade grazed the man’s face, sliding down his chest, causing goosebumps to rise on his skin with its coldness.

The man turned deathly pale, looking as if he had been stepped on, and he instantly dodged to the side.

Carson Flores kept moving forward.

The others changed color, their Flying Swords emerged in front of them, launching fierce attacks at Carson Flores.

Carson Flores didn’t stop his pace, his sword turning into flecks of cold light.

When the Flying Swords got within three feet of Carson Flores, they were accurately struck by the Three Provinces Sword, repelled and sent flying back.

The Flying Swords zigzagged through the air, thrusting back and forth, yet unable to hinder Carson Flores’s casual advance.

The onlookers were deeply shocked.

This man was just a Golden Core, so how could his strength be so overwhelming?

He could even withstand the Flying Swords of the Nascent Souls without losing ground?

A middle-aged man invoked a spell on his Flying Sword, causing it to suddenly accelerate. With a short distance, it carried the sound of wind and thunder, like a Wind-Thunder Stab shooting towards Carson Flores.

Carson Flores’s sword, as expected, struck the Flying Sword. The sword bent, forcibly breaking through the Three-foot Sword Veil, shooting towards Carson Flores’s body.

Brecken James and the others saw this and joy flashed in their eyes.

Penetrated!

It got through!

Carson Flores extended his hand and, just as the Flying Sword was about to reach him, he grabbed it.

The joyful expressions on Brecken James and his group intensified.

This kid is panicking, using his hands to catch a Flying Sword? Isn’t that suicidal?

A Golden Core Stage catching a Nascent Soul Stage Flying Sword?

Killer intent flashed in the middle-aged man’s eyes as he gestured with his sword finger, ready to command the Flying Sword to slice off Carson Flores’s fingers.

The sword trembled but didn’t move.

The middle-aged man’s expression changed dramatically; he waved his sword finger again, but the Flying Sword, now like a dead snake in Carson Flores’s hand, quivered slightly but was utterly incapable of struggling free, let alone cutting off his fingers.

In that instant, Carson Flores took a step forward and was already in front of the astonished middle-aged man.

The middle-aged man retreated in panic, not daring to stand in Carson Flores’s path.

With another step by Carson Flores, he was in front of the dumbstruck Brecken James, and his sword descended.

The sword light was as snow, its Qi sprawling across the scene.

Brecken James’s face contorted with fear, and with a strange cry, he suddenly burst backwards, no longer concerned with Marcellus Foster before him.

Carson Flores took another step forward and stood in front of Marcellus Foster, turning to smile faintly at Brecken James, ”I’ve rescued him; our grudges are settled?”
