Chapter 758: Chapter 758: You’ve Never Heard of Blood Shadow?_1

”How did you know my identity?”

Joaquin Moses said with a resentful expression, ”When we brushed past each other, I meddled a bit with you, then used a small magic artifact to sense where you were.”

Carson Flores stared at Joaquin Moses, ”I’m just at the Golden Core Stage, you, being at the Nascent Soul Stage, having found me, why didn’t you just make a move and kill me? Wouldn’t everything on me become yours then?”

Joaquin Moses said coldly, ”Although I am an assassin, the people I kill all follow a principle of deserving death. You and I have no grievances, you haven’t committed any evil deeds, I can’t just kill someone over a Beast Taming Bag, can I? Before this, I threw the Soul Devouring Bow to you because I knew you were not weak. As long as you could help me kill another Nascent Soul, there would be a chance for me to escape today.”

”Besides, didn’t the leader of that pursuing team say it? To leave no one alive. Do you think they would spare anyone on this ship after killing me? In that case, if I drag you down with me, what of it? At any rate, things couldn’t get any worse, could they?”

Carson Flores blinked, ”You’re an assassin?”

Joaquin Moses nodded, ”I belong to Blood Shadow, a notorious assassin organization from the Barbaric Wilderness Realm. I’m part of the autumn group of Misrds State division, ranked thirteenth, so they call me Joaquin Moses. The leader of those chasing us, also from the autumn group, is ranked seventh.”

Carson Flores shook his head, ”Never heard of it.”

Joaquin Moses looked shocked, ”You’ve never heard of Blood Shadow?”

Carson Flores nodded, ”You can consider me a newbie just stepping out into the world. I’m curious though, you, an assassin who does jobs for money, still hold such principles? Not killing the innocent – what if a job comes and you have to kill?”

”I can refuse it.”

Joaquin Moses said solemnly, ”My father was the former leader of Blood Shadow’s Misrds State division. I naturally have the right to select my missions. But this year he was killed, the new leader, a sly fox, wants to eradicate me. So I stole the Soul Devouring Bow from the division’s treasury and made my escape, and they’ve been trying to kill me ever since.”

”Following in your father’s footsteps, huh.”

Carson Flores exclaimed, ”You stole the Soul Devouring Bow because you wanted to kill the sly fox and avenge your father?”

Joaquin Moses shook his head, ”The sly fox has the strength of the Divinity Transformation Stage; even with the Soul Devouring Bow, I can’t kill him with my level of power. I stole the Soul Devouring Bow and bought the Beast Taming Bag because I learned some information and wanted to try my luck somewhere.”

Carson Flores asked curiously, ”What information?”

Joaquin Moses shook his head and pressed his lips together, remaining silent.

Seeing Joaquin Moses not speaking, Carson Flores did not press further and straightforwardly said, ”I don’t care about your identity or your purpose. In the end, I saved your life, the Soul Devouring Bow is mine, you can go.”

Joaquin Moses bit his teeth, ”What would it take for you to lend me the Soul Devouring Bow? I can swear an Oath of the Heart Demon, I’ll surely return it.”

Carson Flores shook his head, firmly refusing, ”Don’t even think about it, I won’t lend it to you.”

Joaquin Moses went silent for a while, ”Just now, you killed people from Blood Shadow and let their people escape. Plus, with the Soul Devouring Bow in your hand, Blood Shadow won’t let things go. They’ll send more people to kill you.”

Carson Flores smiled, ”I’m just starting out, without any reputation. How could they find me?”

Joaquin Moses said seriously, ”You’ve stayed and spent time in Fierce Lion City previously; they can definitely track your identity. Blood Shadow’s ability to gather information in the entire Barbaric Wilderness Realm is extremely powerful.”

Carson Flores furrowed his brows, ”You mean, I’ve gotten myself into a big problem?”

Joaquin Moses affirmed, ”Trouble as big as the sky!”

Carson Flores snorted coldly, ”Even if it’s trouble, it’s mine, and has nothing to do with you. Bottom line, don’t even think about getting the Soul Devouring Bow from me.”

Joaquin Moses pondered for a moment, ”Can you tell me your identity?”

Carson Flores sneered, ”Tell you my identity so you can bring trouble to me?”

Joaquin Moses was silent for two seconds, ”If you could help me kill the sly fox and avenge my father, I would pledge my loyalty to you, henceforth obeying your commands.”

Carson Flores was taken aback, ”What is your strength?”

”Mid-Nascent Soul stage.”

Carson Flores laughed, ”Have you lost your mind? The sly fox is at the Divinity Transformation Stage; asking me, a Golden Core Realm cultivator, to kill the sly fox?”

Joaquin Moses calmly said, ”With the strength of the Golden Core Stage, you possess three demon beasts comparable to Nascent Soul Stage cultivators; this speaks to your exceptional nature. And your background is certainly not simple, maybe you have powerful Sect elders backing you up. If they’re willing to make a move, with the Soul Devouring Bow, killing the sly fox won’t be difficult.”

”Now that you’ve killed their people, you and they are mortal enemies. If you don’t kill them, they will definitely harass you incessantly, trying to stab you in the back. You may successfully defend countless times, but if you fail even once, you will die.”

Carson Flores’s brow furrowed.

Before obtaining the Beast Taming Bag, Carson Flores had arrived at Fierce Lion City with the Snow Dragon Leopard King on board a ship and even stayed in a hotel – giving people a memorable impression. If Blood Shadow’s agents truly put in the effort, they could possibly trace back to his identity.

It seemed he really had gotten himself into trouble.
