The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 751: Chapter 751 Underground Black Market_1

The Beast Taming Bag flew up, its opening rapidly expanding and floating in midair.

Dragon leaped into the air and dove headfirst into the Beast Taming Bag. Its massive body disappeared inside the bag, which then closed and flew into Carson Flores’s hand.

Carson weighed the Beast Taming Bag in his hand a couple of times, a look of surprise in his eyes.

This Beast Taming Bag truly was magical.

After repeating the process twice and checking with Dragon to ensure there were no problems, Carson finally hung the Beast Taming Bag at his waist.

Looking around, Carson said, ”This Beast Taming Bag is a bit too conspicuous.”

Fabian Vasquez understood immediately and suggested, ”The Beast Taming Bag cannot be placed inside a Space Ring, and hanging it at the waist is indeed rather noticeable. People from the Sect usually like to wear capes or half-cape coats—not only do they look good and stylish, but they also conveniently conceal the Beast Taming Bag, preventing the exposure of one’s status as a Beast Tamer. After all, nobody wants to directly reveal their trump cards, making others wary.”

Carson thought it made sense. Capes were indeed nice but not so convenient. Cape coats were loose and good-looking, and they could mask one’s figure, which was a great idea.

Carson himself was only at the Golden Core Stage. If he counted Logan Moss, who was about to hatch, that would mean he had three Nascent Soul Stage Demons. He really did need to conceal his Beast Taming Bag.

He decided to buy one to try it out. When outside, it was prudent to hide one’s trump cards. The more trump cards you expose, the more dangerous it becomes when someone targets you. The more trump cards you have, the greater your chance to survive if someone tries to plot against you.

”Blake Gibbs has disappeared. Nobody will be looking for him, right?”

Fabian Vasquez had abandoned all other thoughts and only wished to pay the ransom honestly.

”I was the only one in contact with him. Even if someone knows, it doesn’t matter. He’s alive, and who cares where he goes? As long as no one finds his corpse, even if there are suspicions, what can be done? There’s simply no way to investigate.”

Carson nodded, ”Then let’s head back to the city.”

Once back in the city, Carson slept soundly through the night.

The next morning, the two had breakfast at the inn.

Carson inquired, ”I still need another Beast Taming Bag. What should I do?”

Fabian Vasquez dared not ask too much and replied, ”If we hadn’t killed Blake Gibbs before and let him lure a brother or a disciple out, we could’ve killed them and taken theirs... ”

Carson responded flatly, ”I killed him because he wanted to kill me. I have no enmity or grudges against others. I would not actively kill people just for a magical treasure.”

Fabian Vasquez blinked and slapped his mouth, ”I misspoke. In that case, we really just have to go to the black market to see. If we’re lucky, there might be one available. Now, Mr. Flores, you have enough Spirit Stones to buy it outright.”

Carson gave Fabian Vasquez a glance, ”Outside the city?”

Fabian Vasquez whispered, ”It’s inside the city, but the location changes every time. I need to find out when the next one is.”

Carson nodded, ”Good!”

After eating, they hit the streets. Fabian Vasquez sent a message to his family, and Carson took the chance to send a letter to Delaney Hunter, telling her about recent events.

Carson’s letter, like a letter home, didn’t really need to be sent, but he sent it anyway, specifically for Fabian Vasquez to see, to squash any ideas he might have been entertaining.

If anything happened to him in Fierce Lion City, Fabian Vasquez wouldn’t be able to escape responsibility.

On the one hand, Carson was watching Fabian Vasquez for the twenty million ransom, and on the other hand, he needed Fabian Vasquez’s help to acquire a second Beast Taming Bag. Carson didn’t want Fabian Vasquez to harbor any ill-intentions.

By crushing any hope Fabian Vasquez might have had for chance, Carson could ensure he would sincerely help him and not try to set him up using misinformation.

Indeed, once Fabian Vasquez knew about Carson’s identity and saw him sending a letter to Delaney Hunter, he no longer harbored any extra thoughts and only considered how to help Carson complete the job, then get away from him.

He was scared.

Truly scared.

How could he be so unlucky, trying to con a disciple from Flying Waterfall Mountain Peak and ending up targeting Daxton Campbell’s disciple?

”Mr. Flores, I made some inquiries. The black market is in two nights, at a private residence on West Street. I’ve already obtained the invitation. All we need to do is go there when it’s time,”

”Good!”

Two nights later, Fabian Vasquez led Carson Flores to a dark alley on West Street and handed him a mask.

”The black market is inside. To avoid unnecessary trouble, everyone conceals their identities with masks,”

Carson took the mask and put it on his face, following Fabian Vasquez deeper into the alley.

”The invitation will be exchanged for a numbered plaque. During the auction, you just raise the plaque to bid; no need to say anything else.”

”Good!”

The two wound their way through the dark and decrepit alley, eventually stopping in front of a rundown and inconspicuous yard.

At the entrance stood a man in black, his whole body hidden in the shadows, nearly impossible to detect unless approached closely.

Fabian Vasquez stepped forward and handed over the invitation.

After checking it, the man in black gave Fabian Vasquez a numbered hand plaque and opened the door, gesturing for them to enter.

Following Fabian Vasquez across the yard to the house entrance, another figure in black opened the door to let them in.

They passed through one room and entered an inner chamber; their eyes brightened at the sight before them.
