Doctor: I Can Synthesize Infinite Entries

Chapter 31: Chapter 31: Shen Guofeng’s Invitation: Come to the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinggang University

Time slowly ticked by in the conference room, where everyone was engrossed in the textbook-level tendon suturing.

After a long while, Wu Ting finally finished repairing all the tendons. In the surgery, a handover between doctors commenced.

Lu Xiong began suturing the blood vessels and performing the nerve anastomosis.

As he watched Lu Xiong’s conventional procedure, Professor Shen’s mind was still replaying Wu Ting’s flawless performance from moments before. He couldn’t help but feel he hadn’t seen enough.

’When I get back to Xiao City, I have to get a copy of this surgical video. I’ll play it for everyone in the department so those junior doctors can learn a thing or two.’

’It’ll also show them that no matter how good you are, there’s always someone better!’

Sensing the audience’s waning attention, Lu Xiong felt a little awkward. He understood, however, that compared to Wu Ting’s tendon repair technique, his own skill was merely passable and not nearly enough to impress the likes of Professor Shen.

Intentionally, Lu Xiong increased the playback speed for the rest of the video to 1.5x.

Soon, the entire surgical recording was finished.

In the conference room, Captain Huang, a layman in medical matters, had no idea how well the surgery had gone. He was the first to ask:

”Professor Shen, how did Officer Liu’s limb reattachment surgery go? Will he be able to recover fully?”

Dean Tang also asked from the side:

”Yes, Professor Shen, please give us your assessment.”

Shen Guofeng smiled before giving his fair and objective evaluation:

”The entire surgery was performed perfectly. Especially the plan for the tendon suturing. The overall approach was identical to what I had considered, but the specific details and execution were even better than I’d imagined.”

”If I’m not mistaken, the tendon suturing portion of this surgery was completed by this young doctor?”

Shen Guofeng looked at Wu Ting with admiration.

Lu Xiong picked up the conversation, ”Professor Shen, you have sharp eyes. The tendon suturing for this surgery was indeed done by Dr. Wu. And the entire surgical plan was also proposed by Dr. Wu.”

Hearing Lu Xiong’s confirmation, even though Shen Guofeng had already braced himself for it, he was still shocked.

”I truly never expected that Dr. Wu, so young, would be so accomplished in tendon suturing.”

After offering his praise, Shen Guofeng began to explain in detail to Captain Huang.

”Captain Huang, Officer Liu was incredibly fortunate this time. This surgery... I believe that even if I had performed it myself, given that the optimal time window was missed, it would have been impossible to do a better job than Dr. Wu.”

”For the tendon suturing technique in this surgery, Dr. Wu used the double-plane Kessler method, just as I would have. With this suturing method, the two stitches form a cross shape inside the tendon, distributing the force more evenly. Its tensile strength is three times that of a standard Kessler suture’s tear resistance, and it has a minimal impact on the nutrient circulation within the tendon. Therefore, the sutured tendon can withstand greater tearing forces during early rehabilitation, laying the foundation for early flexion and extension exercises of the fingers...”

The more he analyzed it, the more impressed Shen Guofeng became.

”Secondly, Officer Liu’s severed arm involved injuries to many tendons, with the severed ends all on the same plane. Adhesion between the ends would have been difficult to avoid. However, Dr. Wu used an autologous tendon graft and employed several different suturing methods, ensuring that every single tendon was repaired in the most optimal way.”

”To be able to complete such complex and precise sutures on multiple tendons simultaneously... Dr. Wu’s technical skill and calm composure are truly something I have never seen before in my life.”

”Coupled with Director Lu’s excellent vascular suturing and nerve anastomosis afterward, the entire surgery was completed to a very high standard.”

”Based on the current results, there is an eighty to ninety percent chance that Officer Liu will be able to recover to a normal level of function.”

After he finished speaking, Shen Guofeng stood up and gave his final summary to Captain Huang:

”Captain Huang, congratulations. Congratulations to Officer Liu for receiving what is, in theory, the best possible surgical treatment. From here on, he just needs to follow a standard rehabilitation program.”

Hearing Shen Guofeng’s conclusion, Captain Huang was ecstatic. ”Excellent, excellent. That’s wonderful.”

Shen Guofeng walked over to Wu Ting, extending his hand.

”Dr. Wu, it’s a pleasure. Thank you for letting me witness such an outstanding tendon suturing surgery.”

As they shook hands, Shen Guofeng added, ”Dr. Wu, we’ve actually met before. Look at the web of my hand here. You were the one who sutured this scar. The healing was excellent.”

Wu Ting remembered as well. ’Right, Shen Guofeng! Isn’t this the big shot from whom I got the purple-tier Diagnosis Skill last time?’

”I’m also very honored to have the opportunity to exchange ideas with Professor Shen about the same surgery.”

’For a big shot like this, who can casually drop a skill that an ordinary doctor could live off for a lifetime, Wu Ting was naturally very humble and respectful.’

”Dr. Wu, I believe that with your talent for surgery, we will be seeing each other often in the future. When you have the chance, please come and visit our emergency department at Jinggang University Affiliated First Hospital for more exchanges.”

Shen Guofeng admired Wu Ting quite a bit and casually took out his phone.

”Dr. Wu, let’s add each other. In the future, if you need anything, feel free to contact me. As long as it’s within the medical field in Jin Province, I’m confident I can lend a hand.”

Faced with Shen Guofeng’s sincerity, Wu Ting was both flattered and overwhelmed.

”I’d be honored, truly.”

Wu Ting immediately took out his phone and added Shen Guofeng as a friend.

After this was done, Shen Guofeng then shook hands with Lu Xiong and Qin Donglai.

”You’ve both worked hard. This surgery was truly impressive.”

Shen Guofeng then looked at Dean Tang.

”Dean Tang, it’s true what they say: a strong general has no weak soldiers. I’ve also benefited greatly from this experience. As for the surgery, the outcome is already optimal, so there’s no need for me to add anything superfluous. I have a presumptuous request. I’d like to get a copy of the surgical video to take back with me, so that the doctors in my department can also learn from it.”

”Hahaha, Professor Shen, you’re too kind. Having you here brings great honor to our City First Hospital.”

Dean Tang was also in a great mood. Officer Liu’s surgery was a success, which meant he now had a good report for the police chief. Plus, his own subordinate had shone so brightly, which also made him look good.

To earn Professor Shen’s high regard was no easy feat.

”You all did very well. Later, when Huo Yun is out of surgery, I will instruct him to reward you all handsomely.”

For a moment, everyone in the conference room, hosts and guests alike, was delighted. Everyone was in high spirits.

Captain Huang also walked over to Wu Ting and shook his hand.

”Dr. Wu, on behalf of Officer Liu, thank you. My entire criminal investigation team owes you a favor.”

Captain Huang also took out his phone and added Wu Ting as a friend. ”Dr. Wu, in the future, as long as you’re in Fan City, if you ever run into any trouble, you must call me. I’ll definitely sort it out for you!”

Seeing Captain Huang’s declaration, Lu Xiong and Qin Donglai were filled with envy.

’From a single surgery, Wu Ting had befriended both Captain Huang and Professor Shen. Sure enough, top-tier medical skill is a top-tier resource.’

[DING! Host has completed a surgical observation with Shen Guofeng, Huang Yangming, Tang Long, Qin Donglai, Lu Xiong, and others, where hosts and guests were all delighted. Congratulations to the Host for acquiring a trait from Shen Guofeng: Fluid Resuscitation Master (Purple). Insights on fluid resuscitation refined by Professor Shen Guofeng over multiple large-scale emergency rescue operations. Proficient in various types of fluid resuscitation for shock, master of various fluid resuscitation formulas, and able to propose the optimal solution for different situations.]

[Acquired a trait from Qin Donglai: Appendectomy (Yellow). A skilled appendectomy technique, capable of handling all sorts of routine appendectomies.]

’Seeing these rewards, it’s true that there’s no harm if there’s no comparison. Professor Shen really is a big shot. Anything he drops is master-level.’

”Since the surgery was a success, let’s all go and see the patient.”

The observation session concluded perfectly, and the group felt much more relaxed.

On the way, Shen Guofeng started chatting with Wu Ting. When he heard that Wu Ting was currently preparing a paper and had not yet secured a permanent position at City First Hospital, he said, half-jokingly and half-seriously:

”Wu Ting, that’s a simple matter. When you finish your paper, just send it directly to me. I’ll personally arrange it for you.”

Director Lu, standing to the side, explained with a hint of envy:

”Dr. Wu, our Professor Shen is the editor-in-chief of the *Jin Country Critical Care Medicine Journal*. For a regular medical paper, the process from submission to publication usually takes six to eight months. But if Professor Shen personally gives you the green light...”

Director Lu gave Wu Ting a look that said, ”you know what I mean.”

Shen Guofeng smiled slightly, tacitly confirming it.

The old hands Qin Donglai and Lu Xiong, standing nearby, were incredibly envious. Qin Donglai, in particular, was even considering whether he could ride on Wu Ting’s coattails. ’That’s the *Jin Country Critical Care Medicine Journal*, a core journal in the field of emergency medicine!’

’This young man’s networking speed is just too fast.’

Immediately after, Qin Donglai heard an even more astonishing statement.

Shen Guofeng made a shocking invitation:

”Dr. Wu, actually, if you’re willing, the doors to the emergency department of my Jinggang University Affiliated First Hospital are wide open for you!”
