[Recommended Trait Synthesis: Modified Tendon Suturing Skill (Yellow), theory-focused + Modified Tendon Suturing Skill (Yellow), practice-focused + Modified Tendon Suturing Method with Kirschner Wire Fixation (Yellow) = Tendon Suturing Master (Purple)]

[Tendon Suturing Master (Purple): In the field of tendon suturing, you have mastered a wide variety of methods, can innovate and improve upon them, and possess the potential to create your own school!]

[Does the Host wish to synthesize?]

Wu Ting chose to synthesize immediately. After acquiring Tendon Suturing Master (Purple), his practical and theoretical abilities in the field of tendon suturing had reached a state of utter perfection.

’This Cheng Feng really is a goldmine. No wonder everyone loves to fleece the same sheep.’

Sensing Wu Ting’s friendly gaze, Cheng Feng smiled faintly and thought to himself:

’Brother Ting must see me as a kindred spirit! I have to keep working hard. I learned a whole new clinical approach from him today. What a score, what a score.’

After the surgical consultation, since they had decided to use Wu Ting’s surgical plan, he was tasked with handling the preoperative discussion with the patient and getting the consent forms signed.

The patient was extremely satisfied with the treatment plan Wu Ting proposed, and the old man’s worries were finally put to rest.

”Doctors these days can’t wait to order all sorts of tests and push the most expensive equipment and materials. A doctor like you, Dr. Wu, who actually considers the patient’s situation, is truly rare. Thank you, Dr. Wu.”

Although Wu Ting was very young, quite a bit younger than his own daughter, the man’s respect for him was genuinely from the heart.

After the preoperative preparations were completed smoothly, the surgery began on time.

For this operation, Qin Donglai was the lead surgeon, with Wu Ting and Cheng Feng as the first and second assistants.

The anesthesiologist administered a brachial plexus nerve block. Since the patient had undergone a previous surgery, they used the original incision, extending it slightly.

”Wu Ting, you’ll handle the incision, exposure, dissection, and the tendon suturing this time. Cheng Feng will take care of closing the wound and the rest of the cleanup.”

Qin Donglai handed the main part of the operation to Wu Ting, as a reward for proposing the surgical plan.

Wu Ting’s current skills in incision, exposure, and dissection were still at a basic level, so his performance was merely adequate.

Watching Wu Ting’s performance, Cheng Feng felt a little better.

Qin Donglai also felt a sense of relief. After all, the talent and skill these two young men had displayed during the preoperative discussion far surpassed his own when he was their age.

”Wu Ting, your fundamentals are solid, but you still need to put in more work on your incision, exposure, and dissection. Right now, I’d say you’re barely adequate.”

”You too, Cheng Feng. You should both spend more time in the training room when you’re free.”

Both of them nodded in agreement with Dr. Qin’s advice.

Soon, it was time for the tendon suture.

”Wu Ting, the surgical plan is just theory. If you find you’re not up to the task when it comes to the suturing, speak up immediately. I’ll take over for you.”

Dr. Qin was offering Wu Ting a safety net.

Wu Ting certainly appreciated the gesture. He nodded in thanks, but his hands never stopped moving.

”Cheng Feng, assist me with the tendon advancement. The patient’s tendon has significantly retracted, so we need to pull the proximal stump distally and re-fixate it in a position that allows for a proper suture.”

Hearing Wu Ting’s instructions, Cheng Feng immediately complied.

It had to be said, with the Kirschner Wire for fixation and traction, the entire procedure was effortless.

”Scrub nurse... forceps... needle holder... 4-0 suture...”

Wu Ting’s calm and composed voice echoed in the operating room.

Wu Ting inserted the needle into the proximal end of the tendon, exiting about 0.5 cm from the stump. He then passed the needle transversely through the tendon next to the exit point, before passing it longitudinally out through the stump...

His movements were as smooth as flowing water, especially his control over the suture tension.

’Such incredible tendon suturing technique. But why does it look so familiar?’

Qin Donglai was inwardly stunned. Wu Ting’s tendon suturing, frankly, was on par with his own—no, it was practically identical.

That was it. To Qin Donglai, Wu Ting’s technique looked as if it came from the very same school as his own.

’But I don’t remember ever specifically teaching him, have I?’

Cheng Feng was also watching, dumbfounded. Seeing Wu Ting operate gave him the same awe-inspiring feeling as watching a textbook surgical video.

The force, the angle—everything was flawless, possessing a fluid, aesthetic beauty.

’What an amazing Suturing Skill.’

While one man was puzzled and the other was stunned, Wu Ting quickly finished suturing the tendon ends. His next clear command rang out:

”Scrub nurse... protective tubing...”

”Cheng Feng, help me bend the tail of the Kirschner Wire on the outer side of the wrist into an arch. Place the protective tubing over the end of the Kirschner Wire...”

In the operating room, Wu Ting had completely taken over from Qin Donglai, now leading the surgery.

The scrub nurse and Cheng Feng followed his every command. With their seamless cooperation, the operation was completed ten minutes faster than expected.

All that remained was the final cleanup.

’What an impressive guy. It seems he was hiding his true skill before. Was he motivated by the residency spot this time?’

Qin Donglai felt a surge of emotion. If it weren’t for this new policy, his department might have missed out on such a promising talent.

Qin Donglai decided he would show the video recording of this surgery to Director Huo.

”You must practice tendon suturing a lot in your spare time, don’t you?”

Qin Donglai finally couldn’t resist asking. While Cheng Feng was finishing up, he pricked up his ears to listen.

Wu Ting thought for a moment and came up with an excuse. ”I actually have you to thank for that, Dr. Qin. I learned by watching your tendon suture videos countless times. Of course, I also bought a ton of pig’s trotters to practice on their tendons.”

Hearing that Wu Ting had learned from his own surgical videos, Qin Donglai instantly understood why their techniques were so similar.

’This young man is teachable, truly teachable.’ Learning from his surgical videos was the highest form of respect.

Qin Donglai was very pleased. ”Wu Ting, if there’s anything you don’t understand in the future, just come and find me directly.”

’It works like that?’ Watching Qin Donglai and Wu Ting’s pleasant conversation, Cheng Feng mentally noted the secret. ’Dr. Qin’s surgical videos, and piles of pig trotter tendons!’

’As expected of my Brother Ting, I’ve learned something new again!’

Cheng Feng was in a great mood. If this kept up, he’d continue to gain ground. Surpassing Wu Ting completely was only a matter of time!
