Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 448: Chapter 422: Qian’s Assessment

Qian and Yu Minglang exchanged a sweet and knowing glance, unnoticed by Liu Li, who continued speaking on his own.

”Actually, my dad and mom had a really good relationship if it weren’t for my brother...”

If it weren’t for the issue with his brother that brought such sadness to their parents, his family would also be a happy family of four.

This child is truly pitiful.

Qian and Yu Minglang stopped their flirting and read the same message in each other’s eyes.

Even though the martyr Liu Shuang had been gone for years, his departure still left lingering pain in the family.

Everyone felt the impact.

If there had been no sacrifice, this would have been a great family, perhaps like Yu Minglang’s: warm and happy, with occasional small quarrels that wouldn’t hurt deeply, supporting each other amid the hustle and bustle, with calm and peaceful times.

But things never go as one wishes...

”Get out! I don’t want to see you! You know to discipline the child now, what were you doing back then? You know to hit my son now, back then, if you had disciplined the elder one, would he have left nothing whole?!”

In the hospital room, Mr. Liu’s sharp voice sounded, and Mr. Liu’s momentum was visibly diminished.

”Shuang also did it to save people, he was a noble man—”

”Noble, my ass! You’re just as much trash as Yu Gangdan out there!”

Yu Minglang felt so innocent, hey, what did he do to deserve this shot out of nowhere?

”Don’t talk to me about nobility, I only know my elder son is gone! Now my younger son wants to follow him, as their father, have you played any positive role in their lives?”

”Exercising isn’t a death sentence, the kid was willing—ah!”

Crying could be heard again from inside, presumably this time Mr. Liu was throwing things instead of metal racks, probably at people.

Mr. Liu pushed the door open and came out, facing the few kids outside, he immediately put on a leadership expression, straightening his back — ow, it hurts so much, that stubborn old woman knew just where to hurt, aiming at the back...

”My teacher is still sick now, why are you provoking her?” Qian asked unceremoniously.

”Hey, our Mr. Liu got hit, what else do you want?” Yu Minglang defended his poor uncle, really unable to understand women’s logic, seemingly always on the higher ground and still relentless.

”Yu Minglang, you’d better shut up, otherwise I’ll blow up at you too! What about getting hit? He asked for it, my teacher is sick, can’t he coax her a little?”

If Qian meant business, it wouldn’t matter if it was Mr. Liu or Mrs. Liu, neither would be able to handle it.

”Women are unreasonable creatures...” Yu Minglang muttered under his breath, then sensing Qian’s murderous glance, he quickly changed course, speaking to the beaten Mr. Liu.

”Uncle, anyway, women are unreasonable, why can’t you just give in to Mrs Liu a little?”

”...You boy, you’re such a fence-sitter!” Mr. Liu’s heart hurt more than his waist, his most proud nephew had also ”betrayed” him!

”The two most powerful things in the world are the sword and the pen. But there’s something even more powerful than these two, which is a woman, so give in to women a little, and the world will be at peace.”

Yu Minglang’s words left everyone but Qian in awe.

Being afraid of one’s wife was turned into a kind of philosophical truth, indeed, he lived up to being a highly educated man.

”Mei, you go in and comfort your teacher, I’ll chat with my Mr. Liu and lift his spirits today, hang out and drink a little?”

Mr. Liu kicked at him, and Yu Minglang dodged with a grin, while Liu Li looked envious watching Yu Minglang joke around with the father he had always feared.

His mother was right; in his father’s heart, only really capable people could earn his respect, look at Lang, laughing and roughhousing with his father, more like father and son than himself.

Qian, on the other hand, noted everyone’s reactions to this scene, especially Liu Li’s envious gaze.

How should she play this unsolvable family game?

Yu Minglang was already leaving, but turned back when he saw Qian standing there, looking bewildered. His heart softened, he walked back in large strides and put his hand on her shoulder, leaning his head gently next to her ear, he spoke softly in a not-too-loud voice.

”I’ll handle it, don’t worry.”

”You?” She, a professional psychological therapist, couldn’t handle it, could Yu Minglang?

”Trust me, which means trusting yourself.” Taking advantage of his leader not looking back, Yu Minglang planted a quick kiss on Qian’s face, then mischievously whispered.

”As for our matter, we’ll... handle it another day!”

Qian mentally flipped him off, this annoying guy always found ways to take advantage of her, yuck!

Qian entered the hospital room, initially thinking she needed to call a nurse to re-administer the IV for her teacher, only to find that her teacher had done it herself.

Doing it herself... truly impressive.

”Why are you angry with him, you know, my master—”

”What master?!” Liu Linlin interrupted Qian.

”...Mr. Liu, can I not say master? I meant, Mr. Liu’s personality is Type 1 in the Enneagram, the same as Bao Qingtian, his worldview is ’I am right’, while you are Type 3 in the Enneagram, your worldview is ’only the excellent are worthy of respect’, you two paired together, arguments are meaningless.”

A professional conversation indeed, as Qian began to talk about personality types in the Enneagram, this kind of discussion clearly resonated with Mr. Liu.

”You came all this way to show off your basics? Let me test you, what level am I in Type 3, and what level is old Liu?”

The Enneagram divides people into 9 personality types, which are innate and unchangeable, like how Qian described Mr. Liu as a Type 1 perfectionist, and the teacher as a Type 3 achiever, everyone is naturally one type for life.

However, within that, each type has nine levels of health, which was what the teacher was asking about.

Qian quietly took a step back, calculating her position to be out of her teacher’s IV stand’s reach, before cautiously beginning to speak.

”I can tell you, but you must promise not to hit me.”

Mr. Liu laughed, ”Do I look like a teacher who hits people?”

In her heart, Qian grimaced, recalling how the slap from her teacher in a previous life still hurt when she thought about it now.

But for the teacher’s happiness, sometimes honesty had to be expressed appropriately; otherwise, how could she prove she was a good child?

”Then I’ll speak frankly, I believe Mr. Liu is between level 1 and 2 of Type 1, he is fully self-aware, living in the moment, a pinnacle that all Type 1 personalities should learn from, but teacher, you...”
