Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 438: Chapter 412: Qiu Is Reliable

Ever since Qian met Mr Liu, she called her teacher, which is usually what a disciple would call.

Mr Liu had this habit in a previous life, most people usually address her as professor, students all call her Mr Liu, only Qian calls her teacher. This habit carried over from a previous life, and Qian couldn’t change it, nor did Mr Liu correct her, it sounded pleasant.

”Regarding Liu Li’s future, do you have any plans for him?”

”That kid refuses to repeat a year no matter what. Fortunately, there’s a preferential policy for families like ours from above, they’ve arranged a formal position for him, and he works there pretty well. This kid, always has a lot of idealistic thoughts that are unrealistic, just like his father who’s got no sense.”

”Uh... don’t you think, his personality is very good for honing—”

Qian couldn’t continue; she felt that Mr Liu was looking at her like he wanted to devour her, much like the time when a senior fabricated data for her thesis, the teacher glared at her with such eyes.

”I’m going back to study seriously, I’m very busy, so I won’t express any opinions now.” After probing the teacher’s attitude, Qian shamelessly retreated.

She had already subtly reminded the teacher, and incidentally tested the teacher’s opposing stance. The rest was a matter between mother and son, and as an outsider, she didn’t have much to say. However, it was foreseeable that little brother Liu Li still had a long way to go...

When Qian returned to the dormitory, she heard lively sounds coming from inside as soon as she reached the door.

”Qiuqiu, be careful!”

”Relax~ your brother Qiu is steady!”

Qian stepped into the dorm and saw Qiuqiu standing on a stool, a screwdriver in his mouth, fiddling with something on the lamp, while Shi Touyu stood next to him handing him tools.

”What are you guys doing?” Qian asked.

”I bought a juicer, no place to plug it in, so I’m running a line out. From now on, we can drink fresh juice, recently everyone’s skin has been quite dry, drinking some of this is good; my little hamsters Bubba and Boom can benefit as well.”

Shi Touyu’s explanation made Qian twitch the corner of her mouth.

Bubba and Boom are the two little hamsters Shi Touyu secretly raises under her bed, commonly known as hamsters.

Qian is deeply disgusted and traumatized by these creatures.

Yu Minglang had once put one of these hairy creatures in her hand, a feeling Qian could never forget for a lifetime. Shi Touyu not only brought these things back but also raised them under the bed and gave them bizarre names!

Qian had reached her limit tolerating these two little hamsters, and seeing Shi Touyu fussing over them, she turned around. Knowing her temperament, Shi Touyu immediately grabbed her.

”Qian, what are you doing?”

”I’m going to report to the dorm manager, saying someone is illegally connecting power, undermining socialism!”

”Nooo! Qian! You’re like my real sister~” Shi Touyu pleaded.

Qian pointed at her nose, ”Throw away those two hamsters, and then we can be friends!”

”...What’s connecting a power source got to do with the hamsters? Be good, once Bubba and Boom have babies, I’ll give you one!” This is like the budding love between her and Qiao Zhen.

”I do not want!”

”Since when did you two get so close?” Qiuqiu asked teasingly as he finished the connection and jumped down from the chair.

”Don’t be silly, who would get close to this quirky girl? I pray your two hamsters drink your juice and get sick, making it unbearable for you to stay here.”

”Haha, my Qian truly has a sharp tongue but a soft heart. Qiuqiu, let’s have dinner together tonight?” Shi Touyu asked Qiuqiu, while Qian was focused on the freshly connected power strip.

”No, I’ve got something to do. Qian, I’d like to chat with you alone.”

”Alright, I’m going out to buy some fruit~”

Shi Touyu waved goodbye to Qian, leaving the dormitory to Qian and Qiuqiu.

”Qian, Jingjing’s mood has stabilized a lot recently. I was thinking of taking her hiking this weekend, would that be okay?”

”A trip not exceeding a day should be fine, but I don’t recommend taking her hiking. Consider going to the beach or amusement park, stay away from mountains, to avoid reminding her of unpleasant things.”

”Okay then, I’ll take her to the botanical gardens. Jingjing loves flowers.”

Qian watched Qiuqiu enthusiastically planning, his face full of excitement, and suddenly she had a bad feeling.

”Qiuqiu, you don’t happen to be interested in Jingjing...?”

”Jingjing is a very cute girl. If possible, I wish... Qian, do you think I have a chance? She doesn’t know about my situation yet. Should I tell her my actual circumstances and see her reaction?”

Qiuqiu felt Jingjing currently liked him, but she still didn’t know he had a woman’s body.

Qian pondered for a moment, then solemnly patted Qiuqiu’s shoulder, ”Qiuqiu, let me give you one piece of advice. You and Jingjing can be lifelong friends without touching that layer of paper. If you do reveal it, you might... do you want to see the flowers wither sadly or turn away when they’re most beautiful?”

Qiuqiu’s eyes darkened, ”I understand.”

Seeing his expression, Qian felt a bit emotionally burdened.

”Qiuqiu, you will have many choices in the future.”

”It’s alright, I’m used to it...”

Qian could only pat his shoulder reassuringly. ”There will always be someone, waiting for you in the distance. Missing out must mean it’s not suitable.”

”You don’t sound like yourself, Qian. Be sharper, I can handle it.”

”I truly mean it, in the vast sea of people, there is always someone specially designed for oneself, just... some people might never meet them their whole lives, some choose to make do with unsuitable people for their whole lives, some remain single, but love is not all there is to life; we always have various ways to choose happiness.”

Just like how Yu Minglang felt about his own emotions in a previous life.

Qiuqiu laughed heartily, ”Right, that’s more like my Qian. If you suddenly got sentimental, I couldn’t take it.”

”Yet, I always believed, marriage is not a must-have journey in life. Better to be single and carefree than to live forcedly with incompatible people.”

These are Qian’s genuine thoughts, from her perspective; many people in this world really don’t need to get married.

Marriage isn’t suitable for everyone, there’s a saying about not wanting to be ’Lonely’ in old age, but the truth is, some people argue their whole lives and don’t make it to ’white hair growing old together’. Some die from anger, or divorce early.

In situations like Qiuqiu and Jingjing’s, Qian is opposed.

One has gender identity disorder, the other has experienced severe trauma. If they truly were together, they would definitely encounter many troubles. Moreover, Jingjing’s parents would not accept their daughter being with Qiuqiu, why let pure budding love become a reality scar? Leaving the best memories behind is also nice.

”Well, I can’t chase after her, but I have to take good care of her, hoping she recovers soon. Rest assured Qian, I will take good care of her.” Qiuqiu soon bounced back.

Qian looked at Qiuqiu, eyes filled with reluctance.
