Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 437: Chapter 411: Reporting to the Teacher (Bonus for 500 Monthly Tickets)

”Don’t take what just happened to heart. It’s not worth getting angry over people like that,” Qian advised. This kid had just graduated high school and was stepping into society for the first time, seeing things that were different from what was taught at school, and inevitably felt some disillusionment.

”It’s simply incomprehensible! I just don’t understand it. How can our people be so cold-blooded! What are our men doing! Why don’t they have any guts!” Liu Li said angrily.

This kid... Qian thought about how he was about her age, and his naïve enthusiasm was rather cute. Who didn’t have a passionate, youthful phase? It’s just that life is too realistic, grinding away people’s spirit.

”Sorry, I shouldn’t be telling you all this...” Liu Li complained a bit, then awkwardly gave Qian a smile. Suddenly, he thought of something. If this girl was his mother’s student, then...

”Hey, gorgeous, can you do me a favor?” Liu Li asked Qian.

”What kind of favor?”

”Could you, in a subtle way, mention today’s incident to my mom? She never believes me when I tell her.”

Qian readily agreed.

”Sure, I’ll mention it to your mother when I go back.”

”Thanks, beautiful. What’s your name?”

”I’m Chen Xiaoqian.”

”I’m Liu Li.”

Liu Li was a bright and sunny young man, still quite simple in his thinking. He had the passionate spirit of youth, his smile especially radiant. Mr. Liu suspected that this kid had a tendency towards mild mania, but to Qian, he was just a pretty adorable and sunny young man.

Though mania is technically a disorder, if it’s not at a pathological level, it can have positive effects. For example, many overbearing CEOs have manic tendencies. Mania can enhance creativity; many billionaires have an unsettled soul within them. Mania is commonly found in highly educated and high-quality individuals, but when it becomes pathological, developing into manic depression that affects living, it’s no good.

Seeing Liu Li, Qian thought of her spoiled younger brother. Even though he’s also a young kid, her brother fell far short compared to Liu Li.

”Gorgeous, are you into me or what?” Liu Li joked when he saw Qian smiling at him.

”No, you just remind me of my brother. I have a younger brother in middle school at home. But he’s not as passionate as you, only motivated in front of pretty girls.”

Qian’s assessment of Chen Zilong was spot on, and it definitely was not slandering him.

Chen Zilong was usually just a simpleton, but if there was a girl around him, it was different. It’s like he was injected with adrenaline, desperately trying to show off, especially in front of pretty girls, regardless of whether he knew them or not. As long as there was a pretty girl standing next to him, he would go all out trying to impress her.

For example, in such a situation, if it were Chen Zilong, before bravely stepping up when seeing an injustice, he would definitely first check if there were any pretty girls around. If there were, he’d get all jazzed up.

Playing the hero, trying hard to show off.

Or even when hanging out with his buddies, he’d try to show off.

But if it’s just Chen Zilong alone and surrounded by a bunch of aunties, he would definitely be as quiet as a mouse, and compared to Liu Li, the difference in awareness is clear.

”Gorgeous, how old are you, anyway? How can you treat me like a little brother?”

Liu Li was a bit unconvinced. He felt Qian was about the same age as him, maybe even a little younger.

”Me... I’m your mother’s student. So what do you think, little brother? Hurry, call me sister!” Qian mischievously misled him.

Liu Li thought about it, yeah, his mother only took in graduate and doctoral students, so she was indeed older than him.

”Sister!”

”Good boy~” Qian pushed up her glasses, revealing a small, smug smile.

A long time later, Liu Li found out that Qian was actually two months younger than him, tricking him into calling her sister for so long, how sneaky! But that’s a story for another day.

Now, having gotten her way, Qian flagged down a car. ”Let’s go, little brother, sister will give you a ride back.”

”Thanks, sis, but I’m not going home, I’m going to the hospital.”

”It’s on the way, I’ll give you a lift—what are you going to the hospital for?”

”I had a minor surgery on my stomach, and I need the doctor to issue a health certificate. Otherwise, they won’t agree to my enlistment.”

Qian suddenly understood, he was going to join the military. Come April, it’s time to register. What an honorable and passionate move.

”Does your mother approve of you going?”

”It doesn’t matter if she does or not, I’m already 18.”

”Does your father agree?”

Liu Li proudly patted his wallet, ”My dad provided me the funds!”

”...” Mr. Liu was definitely asking for trouble with this move.

It was predictable that his mother wouldn’t be happy once she found out. From what Qian knew about Mr. Liu, his mother would be furious...

On the way back, Qian was pondering whether she should report the matter to his mother.

Liu Li was rather straightforward, not guarding against Qian revealing everything to her. He didn’t know that Qian would learn so much about his family from just a few words.

Mr. Liu’s eldest son had already been a sacrifice; his mother also held a grudge against Mr. Liu for prioritizing work over family. It was clear that she wouldn’t agree with the younger son’s decision to take this path. She wanted to find something more stable for him.

Logically, this was a family matter Qian shouldn’t interfere with.

But when she thought of the image of his mother in the past life burning incense in front of her eldest son’s photo, Qian couldn’t bear it.

What was Liu Li doing in a past life?

Qian couldn’t recall. His mother seemed to rarely mention this kid; Qian didn’t know much about him. But she remembered his mother once briefly commenting, saying that due to Mr. Liu’s inconsideration, both kids were ruined.

Wasn’t it possible that something happened to the second son too, which is why his mother would say such a thing?

The more Qian analyzed, the more plausible it seemed.

When reporting to Mr. Liu about Chu Xuan’s treatment process, Mr. Liu was very pleased. Qian handled it very well.

”I’ll go talk to your class advisor about completing your credits ahead of time this afternoon—but you have to put in effort yourself too. The opportunity only comes once, and you’re well aware of the consequences of failure.”

”Thank you, teacher.”

After finishing, Liu Li noticed Qian hadn’t left yet, so he asked in confusion.

”Anything else?”

”I met Liu Li today, on the bus...”

Qian recounted the incident to Mr. Liu, who listened with furrowed brows.

”That brat, with energy like someone with mania... I’ve always suspected that kid has a tendency towards mania: impulsive and weak self-control! But this time, at least, he demonstrated proper behavior.”

All mothers are like this, proud of their children but pretending to be unsatisfied.

Qian accomplished the task Liu Li gave her, knowing full well that this kid would surely use this incident in the future to bargain with his mother regarding his plans to leave home.

”Teacher...”

”Yes?”
