Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 428: Chapter 402: Visiting My Mentor

Mr. Yu has much more time than Yu Minglang. After intensive flying and completing his flight hours, he has plenty of time to rest. Being a pilot is different from other jobs; over on Yu Minglang’s side, it’s about pushing oneself to the extreme, continually exhausting one’s potential.

Being a pilot is a highly precise job. Once the work is done, one must rest, replenishing energy and maintaining a good mood to ensure accuracy in the next flight.

No comparison, no harm. Mr. Yu, reigniting his youthful vigor, started flaunting his affection with Qian right under her nose.

Mrs. Yu gave her phone as a meeting gift. Even though they’d met before, this meeting was different, so she had to give something. The gift was chosen with Qian’s help because it’s practical.

Initially, she refused to accept it, and it was only through Mrs. Yu’s persistent persuasion that she reluctantly took it. She’s different from Qian. When Qian sets her sights on someone, she takes their gifts without hesitation, confident she’ll return them tenfold one day. But she doesn’t have Qian’s confidence.

She still considers herself an ordinary poor student. Although she now has a boyfriend from a wealthy family, his family’s money is his family’s and has nothing to do with her. She’s embarrassed to accept favors from the Yu Family, and it’s only through Mrs. Yu and Qian’s persuasion and insistence that she accepted.

Yet, watching her text in bed, Qian somewhat regretted choosing that gift.

Isn’t this just rubbing salt in the wound?

Her Xiaoqiang has been out of contact for three days, calls not going through, texts unanswered, even a letter she wrote probably just reached him today, and who knows when she’ll see him.

If you think Mr. Yu’s pursuit method is simple, you’re too naive.

He not only sends texts; he goes on dates too, with the child in tow. Whenever she’s free, Yu Mingyi picks her up with Panpan, even boosting Panpan’s language development remarkably.

A good family atmosphere can give a child immense security.

Another morning of ’dog torture,’ Qian opened her eyes to see Dong Yi rushing out of the bathroom, jogging to the bedside to grab her phone.

”Ah, it’s out of battery...” Dong Yi said, a bit annoyed.

”Just charge it up,” Qian yawned, getting up as Shi Tou leisurely continued to sleep in.

”No, I can’t. I promised Mr. Yu we’d take Panpan for a spring outing in the park. I woke up late; they must be there already. What should I do? Panpan must be anxious.”

Qian watched her dash out of the dormitory like she was sprinting the 100m, shaking her head. How anxious can one be in just a few minutes? Women in love always get worked up over little things. Just look at her; she never gets this flustered over Xiaoqiang.

Just as she thought this, the phone rang, and Qian quickly picked it up. She hadn’t heard from Yu Minglang in a long time; had he finally finished?

It turned out to be Mr. Yu’s number on the screen. Qian felt a metaphorical slap on her face.

She deliberately dragged it out for tens of seconds before answering.

”Has she left?”

”She’s already gone, should be there soon.”

”Oh.”

Mr. Yu asked and hung up straight away.

Qian held the phone, her mouth twitching. Couldn’t he have offered something polite, like asking if she needed him to bring her something?

This man, clueless about social etiquette, actually managed to win over her prized student. Unbelievable...

”When the rapeseed blossoms, crazies are busy. Spring indeed is a season where mania spikes, with everyone like this.” Qian muttered to herself.

”Good morning, Qian~” Shi Tou woke up, yawning as he blew a kiss towards Qian. ”Qian, were you talking about rapeseed? Are we having rapeseed for lunch?”

”No, what I mean is, when the rapeseed blossoms, we see many people all hyped up. Hence the saying, ’When the rapeseed blossoms, crazies are busy. Spring arrives, cats meow, and stones bounce thrice.’”

Qian deliberately teased about Mr. Yu and Dong Yi’s fervent relationship.

However, come spring, she often sees many manic patients. It’s true that spring is a peak time for mania episodes.

”You don’t have class this morning, want to come with me to collect debts?” Shi Tou flipped through the booklet beneath her pillow; most debts had been collected, but a few were left.

”I’ve got other things and won’t be joining you — exactly how much have you lent and what things?”

Shi Tou returned with a distinct change in personality; she had organized a list of ”friends” who borrowed money and items from her last term, and she spent these few days collecting debts diligently.

”Most lent-out money has been reclaimed; now I’m just missing a few romance novels borrowed from the bookstore with a deposit. I need to get them back.” Shi Tou’s values have changed entirely; anyone outside her dorm won’t get even a dime.

”There’s nothing enticing about those tales of domineering CEOs. Those CEOs’ temperaments fit manic patients’ diagnoses perfectly, fooling only you young ones innocent to the world. Living with mania is unbearable for you.” Qian griped as she changed clothes.

”Qian, what are you doing this morning?”

”I have something to take care of, won’t be back for lunch; eat at the cafeteria yourself.” She recalled that her mentor Mr. Liu should be back home today, right?

Mr. Liu had a house here, but she didn’t stay there. Outsiders couldn’t fathom why she chose not to live in such a prime location and instead stayed in the simple faculty dorms, but Qian understood.

Because that house was full of memories of the deceased, where a family of four once shared happy times. Due to Lone Wolf’s sacrifice, that family shattered, and Professor moved out to live in these dorms.

Mr. Liu had fathered two children with Yu Minglang’s uncle, the eldest being Lone Wolf Liu Shuang, and the second also a boy, who by this time should be in high school. In her past life, Qian hadn’t seen much of him and didn’t know him well.

When Qian stood at Mr. Liu’s door and heard loud noises emanating from the inside, she furrowed her brows.

Inside, rock music blared through the speakers, loud enough for the entire row of dorms to hear. Based on Qian’s knowledge, Mr. Liu was a particularly cultured person; this wasn’t like her.

Qian knocked on the door from outside. No one responded inside. With music so loud, it’s normal they wouldn’t hear the knocking.

Qian persistently knocked for a long time but nobody responded. What’s going on?
