Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 440: Chapter 414: What Are You Doing?

”Qian, just wait for me. Once my juicer timer goes off, throw in the carrots. Remember, when you’re doing it, think about the power of love. This is Qiuqiu’s love potion recipe, and I relied on it to win over my brother Qiao Zhen~”

Qian glanced at the carrots she was given, then at the juicer still at work, pushed up her glasses, ”Do it yourself and enjoy the fruits of your labor. Just unplug it and continue when you get back.”

She absolutely wouldn’t expose her true nature as a kitchen klutz and appliance destroyer.

”No way, Qiuqiu said the love potion won’t work if it stops. Remember to chant when you’re adding the carrots: ’Shi Yu and Qiao Zhen, forever and ever,’ say it three times!”

Shi Yu shouted and ran out. Her brother Qiao Zhen was coming over with Yu Minglang today to pick warriors. With the love potion, she’d hold his hand today, Qiuqiu guaranteed it.

”They say I’m a charlatan, but Qiuqiu is worse at fooling people. What love potion? It’s just carrot, cucumber, lemon, and who knows what else mixed together into juice,” Qian mocked. These things fool young girls so easily.

The machine was bought overseas, and Qian had never used it. Seeing it had stopped, she followed Shi Yu’s instructions and shoved in the carrots.

For some reason, it didn’t react when she added them, so Qian grabbed a chopstick nearby to stir, using it to push the carrot through the top of the machine—like unclogging a toilet, which seemed like it should work on a juicer too. She hadn’t forgotten Shi Yu’s instructions and started chanting the ”spell.”

Though Qian felt chanting this was pointless, she had promised her friend she’d do it regardless.

Qian was poking at the carrot with the chopstick, chanting under her breath.

”Shi Yu and Qiao Zhen, forever and ever, Shi Yu and Qiao Zhen, forev—huh, why won’t it go down?”

Qian saw the carrot seemed stuck and gave it a forceful push!

The juicer, once bullied by Qian, made a crunching noise.

Qian tried to recall.

She’d seen housekeepers use juicers before and some food processors. If it wouldn’t go down, wasn’t the answer to shove something in? She didn’t think she did anything wrong—ah!

The juicer made an angry roar, and Qian felt something odd in her grip, then tried to pull out the chopstick, only to find it wouldn’t come loose!

Darn it! The blade jammed the chopstick, no wonder it made such a weird noise!

In that instant, the severely abused juicer let out one final roar, and Qian witnessed an unforgettable sight.

Shi Yu came back with her letters, humming ”Auld Lang Syne.”

Having a sister was great; they could not only share good times and bad but also share love fruit juices. ”Auld Lang Syne” indeed—

Opening the door, Shi Yu’s eyes widened to circles.

She silently stepped back, closed the door, and checked the number: 4444. Nope, this was their ”Seven Degrees of Mind Space” dorm base—Shi Yu named it, she didn’t like the sound of ”Die Wide Open,” despite Qian’s objections.

A psychologist, wasn’t that like a ”mind tampon,” meant for tending to bleeding souls, and in here were two future psychologists.

But when Shi Yu saw the room’s scene, she felt her heart bleeding too.

”Qian... what did you do...”

One wall!

Covered entirely!

In a postmodern carrot fruit juice mural!

Splattered with a sense of postmodern aesthetics!

Qian nonchalantly wiped the juice off her face, ”The machine you bought isn’t very durable. Yeah, that’s it.”

”Ahhhh! What do we do now?!!! We’re not friends anymore, friendship over!”

Shi Yu was about to break down.

”I’ll get you a new one,” Qian said sheepishly. She hadn’t really done much; why did the machine have to go wild?

That juice-splashing scene left Qian with a deep impression.

Xiaoqiang was right; she shouldn’t be in the kitchen, can’t even make juice now.

”It’s not about replacing it... Qian, what do we do! If the dorm manager sees, we’re dead!”

Qian wanted to know what to do too...

”I think what the star guide says is true,” Qian said, noticing Shi Yu’s soaked notebook, an idea coming to mind.

Her poor Xiaoqiang...

Yu Minglang was driving a car, dressed in a formal suit, with Qiao Zhen chatting in the back seat.

”Little boss, the HRs we interviewed today are quite impressive. I hope they can pass tomorrow’s assessment smoothly.”

This time, Yu Minglang came over not only to see Mei but also, following the headhunters’ advice, to look at some potential candidates he wanted to recruit.

”Indeed they’re good, but I have a strange feeling about the last one, the one I favored the most,” Yu Minglang said, trusted in his intuition.

”Wang Yafei?”

”Mm, though his resume is excellent, and I had no issues during our chat, still, something felt off.” Yu Minglang’s intuition was usually spot on.

”So what do you plan to do? He’s the best HR I’ve seen besides you and me. It would be a pity to miss out.”

”We’ll see tomorrow. If I went by the resume alone, I have no reason to reject him. It’s just a hunch.”

In the Yu Family company, many were placed by other shareholders; Yu Minglang needed to gradually replace them with personnel he deemed fit to have total control.

In the first few months, his brothers were helping him, but many needed to leave soon, only assisting temporarily. For long-term development, he needed to rapidly introduce his own people.

This time, Yu Minglang aimed to replace with a sharp HR, to check if his chosen ones had the necessary mental resilience, making a preliminary investigation.

And he could see Mei.

His lovely Mei, soon able to enjoy the late autumn scenery together, such happiness.

Qiao Zhen was in a great mood too.

”I’ve made plans with Xiaoyu for dining and then a movie!” Qiao Zhen couldn’t wait to see Xiaoyu. Since she returned from the mountains and changed, he felt different too; everything was moving in a positive direction, life was sunny, full of positive energy.

The car steadily headed towards Qian’s school, not far now, when Yu Minglang received a call from Qian.

”Xiaoqiang, how long until you get here?”

”Almost there.”

Hearing her voice brightened Yu Minglang’s mood.

”Pick up a few things,” her voice was steady.

Things? Yu Minglang paused, then smiled knowingly.

”I’ve already got them.”

A slim little box was tucked in his car’s glove compartment. Yu Minglang wouldn’t put such things in his suit, in case someone found it, how embarrassing!

But he bought them a while ago; does she like Xiangcao’s scent?
