Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 346: Chapter 320: Absolute Authority

Qian analyzed the poor girl with a professional attitude.

”Jingjing is now mixing up dreams and reality. If her fear continues to be amplified, it will develop into schizophrenia.”

”My poor daughter...” Jingjing’s mother covered her mouth and burst into tears.

”We told her not to be with that man, but she wouldn’t listen. He has nothing yet is so arrogant, thinking everyone is against him. We had to be so careful talking to him, and now this happens! If he hadn’t provoked Jingjing, would she have run out in the middle of the night?” complained Jingjing’s father.

Qian glanced at him and comforted him. ”Uncle, being angry now only harms your health with no other benefit. The incident has already happened, and blaming someone is meaningless. What we need now is a way to solve the problem.”

”What else can we do? It’s already like this!” Jingjing’s father said angrily.

He wasn’t angry at Qian; the harsh reality had turned a cultured intellectual’s hair gray overnight, leaving only anger towards fate.

Yu Minglang couldn’t empathize as Qian did. Seeing someone shout at Qian, he instinctively stepped forward, standing in front of her.

Everyone reacts in the most genuine way after facing an incident. Now, Jingjing’s parents, Jingjing, and Yu Minglang are all reacting in the most authentic manner.

Qian patted Yu Minglang, signaling him to step back.

In this situation, she had to remain neutral; she was a doctor.

”I’m here to solve the problem now. Please cooperate with me.”

”Tell us, what should we do!”

”I need to be alone with Jingjing for a while.”

”No way! I have to be by her side during treatment!” Yu Minglang decisively refused.

What a joke, letting his Mei stay alone with someone mentally unstable—who knows what might happen!

Moreover, Mei had to meet this woman alone just after her ex-fiancé’s antics. What if this woman goes crazy and harms Mei with something dangerous? How could he handle that?!

”Xiaoqiang, she must be rejecting all men now; your presence will disrupt my treatment. We can’t delay any further, or this child might lose her mind—it’s unfair to her!”

”And what about you being with someone emotionally unstable—how is that fair to me?!”

Yu Minglang could not control his emotions when it came to Qian’s safety.

Qian held his hand, ”Xiaoqiang, you need to trust my expertise. We have the best methods to handle patients like this.”

”What methods?”

”Remove all sharp objects, heavy items, and anything dangerous from her room. If necessary, we can restrain her.”

Yu Minglang squinted his eyes, and Qian patted him, ”Silly Xiaoqiang, where’s your IQ? I would never do something that endangers myself for the sake of others.”

Actually, seeing him worry about her was kind of comforting. While maintaining professionalism, Qian was a bit playful.

When Yu Minglang realized he was being teased, he gave Xiaomei a helpless look, silently warning her: just wait till we get home—I’ll kiss you until your lips are sore!

Qian pretended not to notice.

”How should I address you?” Jingjing’s mother asked.

”You can call me Mr. Chen. I am a professional psychologist.”

”Without a license...” Bantered Xiaoqiang quietly, looking at the ceiling when Qian glanced his way.

”Mr. Chen, why does she keep talking about snakes, venomous ones, as big as mountains, wrapping around her, biting her?”

”Venomous snakes...?”

”Yes.”

”Did she mention any bleeding?”

”I don’t think so... Oh, right, she kept insisting that she hadn’t been violated. She repeatedly said that before her ex-fiancé made trouble. After being pushed away, she lost control and burst into tears. Initially, she wasn’t like this—it seemed like she was just a bit scared. But when he kept calling her dirty, she began acting differently.”

”How despicable...” Qian thought she had gone too easy on that despicable man earlier.

The secondary trauma he inflicted on this girl was too severe.

”Did you use any sleeping pills or similar?” Qian asked.

”Yes, she kept crying, so the doctor injected her with a sedative. But when she awoke, she complained about being entangled by snakes, venomous ones as big as mountains.”

”Her self-awareness is beginning to blur. The massive shock has left her unable to distinguish between reality and dreams. If I don’t treat her, she’s in danger. But psychological intervention alone isn’t enough; she also needs medication. After my session with her, you must take her to a psychiatrist for a prescription.”

”Qian, what do the venomous snakes represent?” Yu Minglang curiously asked.

”Dreaming is a secluded path to the subconscious. Psychologists believe dreams can open the doors to the subconscious. Dreams account for about a fifth of sleep time. In a lifetime, a person spends six years dreaming. Snakes, from a psychological perspective, can represent many things.”

”Qian, are you interpreting dreams now?”

”Not really; I’m analyzing from a scientific standpoint. In psychology, snakes can symbolize masculinity. Venomous snakes may indicate experiencing some form of violence. Their mountain-like size suggests the man’s power over her is overwhelmingly strong and impossible to escape.”

If a girl experiences violent trauma, especially someone inexperienced, dreaming of venomous snakes drawing blood can symbolize revisiting the terrifying ordeal. But Qian wondered why Jingjing’s dream didn’t have any bleeding?

”My poor daughter... Mr. Chen, you must help her, please!”

Qian patted Jingjing’s mother’s hand, ”Auntie, while I couldn’t protect her in the mountains, outside of it, I’ll do everything in my power to help her recover.”

Qian used affirmative language; in her field, she is the absolute authority.

Specifics would depend on seeing the girl.

Qian first asked Jingjing’s mother to enter the room and remove all dangerous items. When Qian entered, Jingjing was curled up in a corner, wrapped tightly in a blanket, trembling continuously, mumbling.

”Snakes, there are snakes, don’t come over!”

Qian felt a pang seeing this. She thought of the girl’s relentless escape attempts from traffickers—she did nothing wrong, yet fate was cruelly tormenting her.

But Qian quickly suppressed her emotions. In such moments, she couldn’t allow any feelings; she must remain objectively neutral.

Qian approached her and crouched down to ask.

”Do you recognize me?”

”You are... oh! It’s you! Run, the snake is coming, the snake is coming to bite us!” Jingjing clung tightly to Qian, who patted her.

”What kind of snake is it?”

”Snakes as big as mountains and countless small snakes. In front of me is a blood-red river. I wanted to cross it, but I couldn’t. The river was full of snakes, ah!” The girl screamed in terror, and Qian’s eyes darkened slightly.

The situation had already become this severe.
