Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 311: Chapter 289: This Is Deadly

”Chen, Xiao, Qian!!!”

Jia Xiufang’s roar echoed in the room, refusing to dissipate for a long time.

Yu Minglang saw his girlfriend, oh no, now his fiancée, was about to get scolded, so he pulled her behind him and kept apologizing to Jia Xiufang.

”I’m sorry, Auntie, I didn’t take care of her. It’s my fault. I shouldn’t have let her cook...”

How could he know that when Mei stepped into the kitchen, her destructive power was so immense!

He just went to the bathroom, and she somehow managed to get oil into the coal stove, causing the fire to blaze up. She stood there, foolishly watching for a few seconds, then took the pot and clamped it on the stove. As for how she got oil on the bottom of the pot, nobody knew.

Everything caught fire.

Oh boy, the flames were raging!

Luckily Yu Minglang was there; if Mei were at home alone, the consequences would be unimaginable. Yu Minglang decided that he would never let her cook again.

For her safety and the safety of the whole family, she should stick to being a doctor, just using her words. As for physical labor, leave it to him!

Jia Xiufang looked at the mess in the kitchen, both angry and anxious. This clumsy girl, why can’t she just hide her shortcomings? Now that Minglang saw them, it’s like exposing her weak points!

Fortunately, Yu Minglang didn’t mind these things.

He was even trying to persuade Jia Xiufang. Jia Xiufang really wanted to smack Qian a few times, but Yu Minglang was protecting her. This clueless little girl was hiding behind Yu Minglang and making faces at her.

”You girl, can’t even cook! In the future, when you go to your husband’s family, what if your mother-in-law dislikes you and sends you back?” Jia Xiufang purposely scolded Qian, secretly observing Yu Minglang’s reaction.

The sensible Yu Minglang immediately responded.

”Auntie, don’t worry. When Qian comes to our home, we won’t let her cook. My mom cooks very well, and she lives nearby. When I’m at home, I’ll cook. When I’m not, I’ll have Qian go to my mom’s house. If it doesn’t work, I’ll sell the fund and let Qian invest in a restaurant to have a fixed place for meals.”

He had a profound experience with her cooking skills.

It’s too terrifying.

Others may cook badly at most, but Qian’s cooking is disastrous!

Jia Xiufang listened and was satisfied, but on the surface, she had to pretend to be polite.

”How embarrassing, this girl is good at everything except that she’s got book smarts but not cooking skills. I’ll teach her slowly in the future.”

”How many years have you taught her? She still hasn’t learned. Lang, let me tell you a true story, it happened last year when I was home alone, starving, my sister said she’d fry rice cakes for me to eat—”

”Such a complicated thing, she can do it?” Yu Minglang couldn’t imagine the risk his Mei took to do it.

She could cause a fire scene just by cooking potatoes, frying rice cakes so difficult, can she do it?

”Chen Zilong, you shut up, what does it have to do with you! Have you finished your homework?”

Qian is still unwilling to recall that time.

”As soon as I talk about it, she gets angry...”

”No worries, today is a happy day. No matter what you say, she won’t get angry, right, Mei?”

She agreed to his proposal today. Yu Xiaoqiang felt on this joyous day, his Mei would keep a good mood like his current happiness.

”Then I’ll say it, Lang you have to protect me, don’t let her hit me.” Chen Zilong was eager to share.

This story Jia Xiufang didn’t know; she was curious too. ”Right, now that you mention it, I remembered there was a day we seemed to have less than half a barrel of oil and a bag of rice cakes, what happened?”

Under the concerned gazes of everyone, Chen Zilong finally pressed down the fear of his violent sister and hid behind his mother, recounting that terrifying past.

”I wanted to eat rice cakes, so my sister said she’d make them. She said frying rice cakes is easier than cooking, just heat the oil, toss the rice cakes in, and they’ll come out cooked.”

The imagined situation really seemed like that.

Progress went smoothly at first, but as Qian stood there flipping the rice cakes with chopsticks, she suddenly discovered rice cakes were getting bigger!

Why does a top student become a top student?

That is to maintain absolute curiosity about life, seeing interesting things, one must research them and understand why!

”Don’t tell me you poked them with chopsticks?” Yu Minglang seemed to understand something, surprised looking at Qian.

Qian lowered her head, meekly explained. ”That was another life, too long ago, I was young. Although I understand thermal expansion and contraction, I had no practice, I didn’t know there was air in the rice cakes, um, so don’t blame me.”

For Chen Zilong, it happened the previous year.

But for Qian, it felt like another lifetime.

”Lang, how did you know she poked them with chopsticks?” Chen Zilong looked admiringly at Yu Minglang. Truly a capable future brother-in-law, could anticipate such things!

”I also know after she poked them, the rice cakes exploded, right?”

”Huh? This you know!” Chen Zilong highly admired Yu Minglang’s all-knowing abilities.

”Hmm, I also have such a silly eland—not right, a woman not good at cooking in my family, my twin sister is this way too.”

”Ah! Your sister is like mine, exploding rice cakes to the ceiling?”

”Ceiling?!” Yu Minglang predicted the beginning but not the end.

Chen Zilong remembered that event vividly, nodding continuously.

”My sister thought it was fun, kept poking, I don’t know what else she did, watching the pot fly up something like lightning, swished, stuck to the ceiling, I was dumbfounded, rice cakes can fly!”

”Mei, luckily, you didn’t get burned to have a face full of scars, I thank rice cakes spared you then.” Yu Minglang felt sympathy for Qian, how lucky not to get splashed with hot oil?

”Aiyoh, this silly girl...” Jia Xiufang couldn’t help but sigh. She said she saw something stuck on the kitchen ceiling, and asked Qian what it was.

Qian invoked various physical and chemical theories, citing extensively, confusing Jia Xiufang by the end on what it was.

Turns out they were rice cakes! Such a thing could be stuck there, eye-opening indeed.

”My sister caused trouble, climbed the stove, plucked rice cakes off the ceiling, but then a piece fell on my head, my hair got tangled, no matter how I washed it wouldn’t come out, in the end, she cut it with scissors, also said it looked more handsome, with a patch missing at the back of my head, classmates teased me for a semester...”

Rarely hearing about his all-capable Mei causing such a mess, Yu Minglang laughed heartily.

Qian pretended it wasn’t her they were talking about, well, that’s not her, something from so far back it doesn’t count.

She automatically ignored the chaos she caused just now in the kitchen.

”Seriously, can’t even cook a meal properly, with you like this, how can I be confident in you getting married. Just like you, at least stay home for a few years, teach you better—”

Before Jia Xiufang finished speaking, Yu Minglang grinned brightly.
