Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 303: Chapter 281: Going to Propose Marriage

Yu Minglang looked bewildered.

His mother rarely laid a hand on anyone other than his father. How angry must she be to slap him across the face?

Even Mr. Yu, despite hitting his kids in various ways, almost never slapped their faces; that represented a person’s dignity.

But now, it was his usually easy-going mother who did it.

What was going on? Did spanking his girlfriend’s little butt warrant being kicked out of the house? Besides, what did his mom mean by this, that bullying a girl before marriage was forbidden, implying that domestic violence was fine after marriage?

Even the clever Yu Minglang would never have imagined that his mother was so angry because she thought he had done ”that” with Qian, wanting to check if she’d lost her purity while in the village.

To Mrs. Yu, this was an unforgivable sin; how could she have raised such a son?

”If it had been before this incident, I might have turned a blind eye. After all, the times are different now, and many young people live together before marriage. Before, I thought you weren’t up to it, so I made you some nourishing soup... But you had to choose this moment; that’s a matter of principle. I absolutely cannot tolerate my son doing such things to hurt his girlfriend!”

Mrs. Yu valued moral education in her children and genuinely liked Qian. To her, Minglang’s actions at this time were too hurtful to the girl from another family.

Unforgivable!

The more Yu Minglang listened, the more he felt something was off.

”No, Mom, what are you talking about?”

Why did he feel like his mom wasn’t talking about the spanking incident?

”Look at this yourself!” Mrs. Yu lifted the blanket, showing a red spot glaring on the white sheet.

”Oh, I was planning to come back and change that.”

Qian was mortified earlier, and he felt embarrassed to deal with it in front of her.

Isn’t this completely normal stuff? You can’t control when a girl’s period comes, and no matter how attentive he is, he can’t have all sanitary supplies ready for her.

Mrs. Yu was about to explode, ”You even have thoughts of destroying the evidence?”

”...” Should he keep this thing and let Qian see it, and then claw at him again?

”Your dad is at a meeting now and won’t be home for the next two days. I’ll wait till he returns to go propose at Qian’s house—never mind, I’ll have your elder brother take your dad’s place and go with me, and then when your dad comes home, we’ll go again.”

”Propose?!”

Mrs. Yu gripped the small drill in her hand tightly, ”I now see you as a man of poor character. If you dare to avoid responsibility, I’ll contact the proctology department at our hospital and have them cut off your tool of crime. If you can’t fulfill a man’s responsibility, then don’t call yourself a man!”

”Mom, what does this have to do with anything, is the proctology department even for cutting this?”

”Whatever I tell them to cut, they will cut!”

”!!!” Yu Minglang stepped back, looking at the small drill in his mother’s hand, and then at the spot on the bed. Could it be that—

”Mom, surely you don’t think I did ’that’ with Qian?” This was too exaggerated.

His dear Qian was so young; no matter how eager he was, he couldn’t possibly make a move on her now.

”The evidence is overwhelming; I have both witness and material evidence, and you still want to argue? The nurse saw you cuddling Qian. Yu Laomao, you’ve let me down! When did our family teach you such crooked thoughts? You completely disregard all the things I taught you. How could you choose to do such a thing just when she got out of danger? How do you expect Qian to see you, how would she see our family?”

Mrs. Yu was well-educated, and back in the days when things weren’t as open, her distant cousin was also suspected of losing her chastity and ended up jumping into the river to prove her innocence. Back then, Mrs. Yu was not very old, but she was quite close to her cousin, which was a huge blow to her.

So she was particularly sensitive about this topic.

She completely refused to accept that her son was that kind of man. After hitting Yu Minglang, the first thing she thought of was to propose at the Chen family; this matter couldn’t be delayed.

”Mom, you’re making too much of this, I really didn’t—ah!” Yu Minglang barely dodged another small drill thrown by his mother.

He couldn’t say anymore, or his mother might actually beat him to death.

”Doing but not taking responsibility, our family doesn’t have such men! Go get ready, dress like you’re human, I’ll have your brother prepare the engagement gifts. If Qian forgives you, fine, if not, I’ll castrate you and throw you out; you won’t be my son anymore, such a disgrace!”

”Do you think you’re telling a story? Using such phrases like ’if you forgive’...”

Mrs. Yu glared at him, and Yu Minglang fell silent, watching her take her phone and start contacting his brother, his head spinning.

He really hadn’t done anything with Qian, this blame was a bit unjust.

But his mom, like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, blew up, not listening to his explanation at all.

Telling his mother now was useless, as she’d already made up her mind.

Besides, if he explained now that Qian had her period, she’d definitely get angry. Anyway, they’d end up doing it sooner or later; making his mom angry was better than making Qian angry—Yu Minglang truly didn’t see himself as worthy of high regard; his position in the Yu Family was already like this anyway.

”Elder brother, go get me 2 kilos of cordyceps, a bit of deer antler too, whatever you brought when you visited your father-in-law, just prepare that for me.” Mrs. Yu had already started instructing the elder brother on matters regarding meeting the in-laws.

”What else could it be, if not for that disappointing brother of yours? Never mind, no matter what it is, we’ll pack up tomorrow and go propose at Qian’s house, you and I will go together. Does your wife have time? If she does, she can join us...”

Taking advantage of Mrs. Yu’s phone call, Yu Minglang sneaked outside to steal a call to Qian.

Qian had just gotten home and was taking a shower after removing her clothes. She couldn’t soak in a bath but had to shower; she couldn’t stand three days without washing.

Jia Xiufang brought in her phone, ”Your phone is ringing—it’s Minglang?”

Qian felt her mother’s gaze was a little strange, and upon seeing the phone, she was left speechless.

This shameless Yu Minglang!

Before, when she was breaking up with him, she had returned the phone to him, and it stayed with him for a few days. Today, he returned it to her.

This guy must have, at some point, saved his number as ”husband.”

This term only became popular in recent years, cooed over in romance dramas, and young people loved using it. If Yu Minglang wasn’t good at anything else, he sure grasped this concept well.

Qian didn’t even dare look at the glimmer in Jia Xiufang’s eyes, feeling her mom’s eyes were shooting daggers.

”Mom, get out; don’t interrupt my call!”

”Chen Xiaoqian, I’m warning you, I can’t control you having a boyfriend, but if you dare do anything out of line before marriage, beware of me breaking your legs!”

Unable to bear it any longer, Qian flicked water at her mother with her hand, and Jia Xiufang left the bathroom cursing.

”What’s up?”

”Mei, there are some developments...”
