Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 316: Chapter 294: Everyone Assembled

Qian chatted in Jia Xiufang’s room until very late.

After her emotions stabilized, even her period became regular. Even reminiscing with menopausal women didn’t make her feel irritable.

Back in her own room, she lay on the bed, admiring the engagement ring sent by Yu Xiaoqiang from every angle.

It wasn’t ostentatious or shabby; the design was very refreshing. Xiaoqiang had good taste, it was just about the maximum he could afford. Qian had worn rings far more expensive than this one, but she only wore the one he gave on her middle finger.

Just as she was pondering about him, Shi Yu called.

”Qian, are you asleep?”

”Nope, what’s up, girl? How are you feeling? Need some psychological counseling? I can give you a 50% discount.”

”I’m feeling alright for now... I don’t need psychological counseling, but I would like to hire you to help counsel someone else.”

”Who?”

”The girl who was abducted with us, do you remember her?”

”Yes, Minglang said she’s not doing well.”

”My brother told me the same thing, Qian, I have an idea.”

”Hmm? You’re not asking me to treat her, are you?”

”No, what if she doesn’t want to see us? We got out unscathed while she... We better not show up; let’s find someone to counsel her so as to avoid causing her any secondary harm.”

Shi Yu’s mind had matured significantly since Xuan’s incident, and she was much more insightful than before.

For that unfortunate girl, if Shi Yu and Qian easily stirred feelings of jealousy in her, it would be better not to meet.

”Very good, you’re being very thorough now. I’m planning to have Dong Yi go, she will treat her in person, while I guide her from the background.” Qian approved, ”So, is there anything else you wanted to discuss with me?”

”Yes, I have a preliminary idea; I want to establish a charity organization. I’ll manage the sponsorship and funds, and you help me find qualified doctors who are compassionate. We need to use our limited resources to assist more girls in need; they could be receiving post-abduction psychological therapy or guidance after being subjected to violence. I’ve found that this area is still a blank.”

”You’re not hiding your wealthy identity anymore?” Qian teased.

Shi Yu chuckled lightly, ”Not hiding it anymore. Instead of minimizing myself, I’d better utilize the identity and wealth my father has given me. I’ve discussed it with my dad, and he agrees that it’s wonderful for our family to do some charity work, which is also beneficial for the business. It’s a mutually beneficial matter, worthwhile to pursue. I’ve thought it through, it’s better to help those genuinely in need than give money to friends who are backstabbers.”

Donating a part of the pharmaceutical funds for charity is a great thing, and Shi Yu herself also has connections; she can reach out to wealthy second-generation peers for donations.

After having this idea in mind, she immediately sought out Qian to discuss it.

Qian thought for a while, ”It’s not unfeasible, but it’ll probably take years to realize your idea. Currently, even if you start, not many would be willing to accept it.”

”Why?”

”Pay attention to the things around you; observe how ordinary people react when such incidents happen to girls, and you’ll see. It’s too late for families to conceal such matters; how would anyone willingly come to us for psychological treatments? Even if it’s free, not many would dare to come.”

After Qian’s analysis, Shi Yu felt somewhat disheartened.

”How could it be like this? Is it a woman’s fault when something happens? Instead of condemning those bad people, they attach rumors to women!”

”Changing perceptions isn’t a matter of a single day, but don’t be disheartened. I’m interested in your idea. In six years, when I establish my studio, we can collaborate. Our people will handle the technical output, and you handle securing sponsorship.”

By then, Shi Yu’s family would benefit, and Qian could advertise her studio, achieving both charitable and profitable ends, which is great.

”By the way, how are you and your brother doing?”

”He rejected that girl, I stayed with your advice to stay still and adapt to changes.”

”Great job, keep your emotions steady.”

Qian hung up the phone, her heart heavy as she reflected on her conversation with Shi Yu, along with the information Minglang had subtly revealed over dinner.

Regardless of whether it was that girl who seemed severely mentally impacted or the one who stayed in the mountains after giving birth, whether Qian wanted to admit it or not, women indeed were a vulnerable group in these aspects.

Early the next morning, just as Qian was thinking of calling Minglang to see if he was awake, someone knocked on her window glass.

Qian was used to it by now, she opened the window, and Minglang jumped in from outside.

”Using the door is so much better, especially since your hand is not convenient.”

”Mei, come with me, I have something to tell you.”

Seeing his expression, Qian knew it must be something serious.

Thinking of using the door, Minglang glanced outside the window, and Qian understood, so she followed him and jumped out of the window, taking an unconventional route.

Unexpectedly, Minglang didn’t come by taxi; his eldest brother’s car was downstairs, and when Qian pulled the car door, she was shocked.

Second brother was driving!

What’s happening? Is the whole Yu family here?

”Eldest brother went to a social event, and second brother happened to be on vacation, so he came to drive us. My mom had been looking for me for a long time, and then I found out my phone was dead.”

”Did something happen?” Qian asked.

”Probably nothing major, but my grandma insists you come too.”

Sensing Qian’s concern, Minglang extended his hand, holding hers. With his support, there’s nothing to fear.

”Second brother, how has Panpan been lately?” Qian asked Mr. Yu, who was driving.

”Much better; he can now speak simple short sentences, and Dong Yi said his recovery is going well.”

”Is freshman year also spent at your place?”

”Yes, she said she took it as working during the winter break.” She was working for her little uncle without getting paid.

Dong Yi didn’t want to return to the village, as no one there would treat her kindly. So, she stayed in Mr. Yu’s rented house, bringing Panpan along for continuous treatment and accompanying the child in play. Panpan had grown plumper under her care and started to smile more.

After Mr. Yu resolved his son’s issues, he became more relaxed and even younger.

He usually stayed at the office, came home in the evening to hug his son, Dong Yi had the meal prepared. After eating, he played with the son for a while until the child fell asleep, then returned to the office.

It’s quite a pleasant little life.

”So this time, did freshman come back with you?” Qian didn’t have Dong Yi’s phone number, so she couldn’t contact her. She wanted Dong Yi to treat that abducted girl in the mountains, with Qian directing from behind the scenes.

”She stayed over there. I asked her to come home for the New Year, but she refused.”

”Then after I finish handling my matters here, I’ll go find her, there’s something to do.”

”You can call the home landline, I’ll have someone pick her up.” Mr. Yu’s words made Qian feel something was off.
